They set up my site's back end to my specifications and sent me a handover video to explain maintenance and updates.

I emailed back and forth with Sven, one member of their team, and watched videos made by other team members. I was first contacted by Catalina, a different team member.

I haven't yet finished customizing my site, so no.

They already knew which parts of the process were likely to be confusing or easily messed up, and had set up extra guidance to avoid delays in those areas.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I was satisfied overall, but wish they had been more upfront about their partnership with Divi from the beginning of the process (like they were about their partnership with BlueHost).

Their offer seemed to good to be true but seeminly had very few string attached, so I gave it a go!

They guided me through the many options available in terms of a website template and advised me where they thought a certain type would be better for my needs. I followed this advice and they set up the site with rather minimal input from me or demands on my time, which was great. After some weeks the website was ready for me, although they are readily helping me finalise things even though their part of the work is largely complete.

It was just me messaging Sven throughout. Very simple and straighforward.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I still have to complete the site to get it live, but all the building blocks are in place and I'm confident it will look as professional as it can in my circumstances.

Absolutely fine. No issues. Communication was clear and easy, and my concerns were dealt with swiftly.

The fact that the offer sounds too good to be true, but it's actually fine and the team do everything they say they will.

Certain steps in the process involving references to other videos or docs did not always align, leading to me needing to get round a few small issues using my intuition. I could have just messaged the team about these points, but they were mostly common sense and understandably hard to iron out with frequently updated learning materials and a small team.

Sven from the Free Website Guys took me through the entire process of designing and creating a wordpress website. The scope for the site was a simple landing page, contact page, and blog. They assisted me through obtaining hosting, and other key parameters.

They were able to obtain huge discounts to key elements of the site including a beautiful and most optimal template. They took the time to provide suggestions to help me get the most optimal and cost effective product. They provided video tutorials with every step that required me along the way and always provided superb service!

Took about a week to build and then Sven – who was on point throughout – said the amended template was ready, logo’s uploaded etc – so here’s how you add your content (more helpful videos for non techies like me) and launch when you are ready. He’s answered a few more questions since. All this is free. No charge

I inquired, received information about what they do and the services they provide and chose to work with them. They are cost effective and extremely responsive which is important to me.

I submitted an inquiry and received a quick response. We communicated via email throughout the development process. Each response I received was well worded, clearly communicated, and had videos and instructions that were easy to follow on the steps they needed me to complete in order for them to proceed with the process. What impressed me the most was how Sven spoonfed me my instructions. I went to them because setting up a website was over my head. But because he spoonfed me everything I had to do, it did not become overwhelming at all. It was a wonderful experience.

I heard about TFWG via a Facebook Group. The cost to build a website via The Free Website Guys and maintain it is next to nothing so it's definitely worth a try.

Needless to say, I was skeptical about their free services when I first learned about it. But I couldn’t be more wrong. I was worried about the theme I picked but Sven assured me they could turn it to something I want. And they did! Honestly they paid attention to details better than some paid services I’ve had before.

At each phase, Sven would send a report of what they’ve done and an instruction video with details of every step to be done on my part so it was clear and time-saving for both sides. They went extra mile to take care of a request of mine that was not available in Divi theme.

At the end of the project, I received a handover report and a list of instruction videos on how to customize the website. It’s been my pleasure to work with Sven and his team. Amazing! Highly recommend!

I've yet to launch my website yet since there're many adjustments I need to do myself but the layout and structure already met my expectations.

The team worked with great integrity and timeliness. If there was anyone dragging the process, it was definitely me. Sven and team have always been super patient and responsive from the start to the end and they delivered what they promised.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I honestly don't know how they make money. The quality of their work and professionalism exceeded a lot of paid services I've had before.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I find the most challenging was describing what I wanted to modify. They asked me to send a video but I used photoshop to make notes of what I want to adjust in each segment of the website, which was a bit time consuming. But I haven't thought of any other way to do it better since we can't meet face to face and even an online meeting might cost them billable hours.
