What challenge were you trying to address with Fidem?

We wanted to expand the courses and languages we offer in order to attract more customers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They designed and developed our website, which now offers a wider selection of online courses and summer camps. The site displays information about our programs and hours of operation.

What is the team composition?

I primarily interacted with the project manager, who had a larger team behind them.

How did you come to work with Fidem?

I found them on Facebook. I interviewed 5–7 companies and found both Fidem’s portfolio and pricing most appealing.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent $700 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June – July 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve received positive feedback on their designs. Our customers have commented on the convenience of our new online courses. The team was also quick to implement changes, which we appreciated.

How did Fidem perform from a project management standpoint?

They were flexible, available, and responsive. We communicated via phone, email, WhatsApp, and Zoom meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I liked how little micromanagement they required if any. I'd only ask for something once and it would be quickly delivered in a timely manner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t think so.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Listen to their advice; they work to make you happy. They’re also willing to negotiate on pricing.

I’m the founder of a small IT services company. We work on e-commerce projects in Germany and neighboring countries.

What challenge were you trying to address with Fidem LLC?

I was trying to increase the development throughput of my team and also reduce costs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Fidem LLC provides development services according to our specifications. Our projects are based on the PHP framework Laravel.

What is the team composition?

They’ve assigned around four remote people to our team. I visited them on-site for a couple of weeks, during which time we had daily standups together, but we generally work remotely. There’s a project manager in place, but I also interact with the developers. They’re both front- and backend-focused, specializing in HTML, CSS, and PHP.

How did you come to work with Fidem LLC?

I was looking for companies in Armenia, which I identified explicitly as an outsourcing market I was interested in. I found Fidem LLC through local research, and I liked the professionalism of their management team. We also ran a couple of screening tests, which were done to my satisfaction.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost so far has been around $12,000. The price was one of the things that attracted me to them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Fidem LLC in June 2019, and the collaboration is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality has been solid, but I don’t have a particular anecdote to share, since we’ve only been working together for a couple of months. Generally, I’m satisfied with the progress of the project that we’re working on with them. They’re proficient in a number of technologies.

One of their greatest strengths is that they’re very responsive to our needs; when necessary, they’re able to mobilize quickly. They’re very customer-oriented.

How did Fidem LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly use GitHub and GitHub Issues to track problems and store all relevant documentation, so that the information can flow easily between project managers and developers. We use Skype for calls and text communication. We don’t really have scheduled standups on Skype; we work mainly through GitHub issues.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What really distinguishes them is their attention to client needs. For instance, at the beginning of our collaboration, I relayed to Fidem LLC’s CEO that it would be helpful to have a German-speaking project manager for both teams. They managed to find and hire a good candidate within a couple of weeks.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing I’d want to share.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Something that works quite well for us is to focus on individual, issue-based tasks, as well as to view Fidem LLC as an addition to the development team, and not as a replacement.

If the client already has outsourcing experience, I think Fidem LLC will prove to be a valuable addition. All of the standard rules of working with outsourcing still apply, and clients should be aware of what they’re doing, but I think they will achieve their goal.

We are a marketing firm build 10 to 20 e-commerce sites a year.

For what projects/services did your company hire Fidem LLC?

We hired Fidem to work on Shopify theme customization, Wordpress development and CSCart development. They also developed Shopify app and custom projects for us. I highly recommended them.

What were your goals for this project?

To build beautiful shopify and wordpress sites. They helped do the development and make the changes we needed to accomplish the changes.

How did you select this vendor?

I did a couple test projects about 5 years ago and we have been working together ever sense.

They provide shopify development, theme customization, shopify app development, Wordpress apps, wordpress development, custom development, etc.

They have two or three developers and project manager that work on our projects depending on the project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

If you get them a detailed list of changes and they will crank them out and figure out solutions to any problem.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

It was very good, we use teamwork.com and slack, and skype and it was great.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The ability to expand and grow to meet the tasks we needed was impressive. They accomplish the project cost-effectively.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Not that I think of at the time.
