Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of a commercial printing company that focuses on direct mail marketing for the heating and cooling industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Exyconn?

We wanted to build a new online storefront. I needed a team that was familiar with websites and online stores to interface with the third-party company that was providing the online storefront service to us. Essentially, the project was outside of my wheelhouse, and I needed somebody to take it on for me. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We used a third-party vendor for the basic shell of our online storefront, and they told me to populate the website with graphics, product information, pricing, and more. Meanwhile, I knew what products I wanted to sell, but I didn’t have the time to think about how the code or page hierarchy works. 

I wouldn’t try to learn how to build the transmission of my car — I’d take it to the mechanic. That was what I essentially did; I told Exyconn to collaborate with the third-party vendor and make the website work. 

We’ve also built a second storefront for a client over the past month. Some parts of it are new, while others have been picked up from our existing content and brand. Exyconn has also worked on this particular project. 

What is the team composition?

I work with two people from Exyconn, including Sayan (Marketing Manager), who is my main point of contact. 

How did you come to work with Exyconn?

I went to Upwork and posted the parameters of the project. Hundreds of people came up from all over the world, but I wanted a team that could work in the Indian time zone since our storefront vendor was in India. They should also have the same language and skills. These were key to the project’s success. I could’ve outsourced the job to US-based and domestic companies, but the 10–11-hour time difference would have been a barrier. 

Given that, I went through 20 people’s bio. Something in Exyconn’s bio clicked, and one of the main determinants was their time zone. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $5,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project in March 2021, and we have an open-ended engagement. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’m happy to have Exyconn working on my projects, and a big part of that is trust. I see and know what they’re doing, and I know their job isn’t easy. However, whatever they do, they do it correctly — they do everything right almost all the time. When their work isn’t perfect, it’s usually because I haven’t explained the task clearly enough or haven’t given them the exact information they need. When this happens, they ask me to clarify the task. Once I explain everything, their work becomes practically flawless. 

How did Exyconn perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication skills are excellent. We’ve done Zoom calls; their English skills are great, while their writing skills are practically flawless. For comparison, I do business with many US-based companies, and their grammar isn’t perfect. By contrast, when Sayan and his team email me, everything is written flawlessly.  

Moreover, we have a level of communication and relationship where I celebrate their holidays. I’m aware of their culture and share their joys. In other words, our relationship is more personal than simply being a customer and vendor. We’ve developed a friendlier partnership — if they ever come to New York, I’ll be glad to tour them. They’re great people. In fact, even when they’re on an important holiday, they ask me to tell them anything I need because they’ll be checking their emails. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Exyconn is highly responsive. When I send them an email, they respond within minutes or 1–2 hours. I usually start talking to them early in the morning, when they’ve already been up for five hours or more in their time. We exchange emails back and forth until noontime here, and I sometimes have to convince them to go to bed. In other words, they want to get everything done for me even if it’s already two o’clock in the morning for them. Overall, their consistent response times have been a big part of our success. 

Moreover, we work so closely together that their services have given me the ability to be forward-facing. They do what they’re supposed to do, so I can focus on my company’s needs instead of worrying about the team — Sayan has my back and I never have to worry about that. When I tell them to do something for me within a day or two, it’s usually done the next day. This level of response time is truly their ace in the pocket. Overall, they’re my true business partners focused on success. They’re driven to do their best while building long-term relationships. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Go for it — engage Exyconn. They’ve been a perfect fit for our company, and that might not always be the case for others. However, my experience with them has been perfect.

The availability and vision of team members

We held some initial analysis meetings and shared project documents. Then we developed the project in two epic steps.

1. development of the basic part of the platform
2. enrichment of the same with ML and AI functionality

The project is in the startup phase

Their communication style is very effective and helpful. The style is informal, but decisive and oriented towards achieving results.

The availability and the afifnitàà in the tastes and in the vision of the future

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They are working in the right direction. I expect them to grow a lot.
