I’m the president of the company. We’re an added-value distributor and manufacturer of industrial products.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Dymin Systems?

We wanted to have a vendor or support team that could support all our infrastructure helpdesk needs, except development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dymin Systems is our IT vendor. The initial scope of work was to get us on one platform, from user to user, to monitor all of our networking hardware and servers. They’ve implemented Office 365 for some solutions, and they also do storage and helpdesk. Our employees call any time, and they take care of our desktops, laptops, printers, and so on. They’ve brought everything under their umbrella.

We’re right across the parking lot from them, so we’ve probably had more in-person work than what other people could expect. However, most of the work is done at their location.

What is the team composition?

We primarily work with two people. We initially interacted with the owner from a sales perspective because we were a new client. He gave us the background and expectations of what they could do for us and then handed us off to a project manager. He runs the day-to-day and is our primary contact. We’ve seen some other people throughout the experience.

How did you come to work with Dymin Systems?

We were using another company. It was fantastic, but we wanted to use someone local and make some cuts. The only thing we compared was cost, and now we’re getting a better monthly price.

How much have you invested with them?

We pay approximately $2,000 each month to cover our backups, maintenance, and upkeep. The hard cost of the project and hardware has been more, so we’ve spent over $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in February 2021, and our relationship is ongoing. We continue to do backups with them, and they’re our go-to IT solution.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any KPIs or metrics. The general feedback is that we have daily internal support. Dymin Systems has taken over all that, and we’re delighted in that aspect. We also measure our employee’s happiness, so we’re satisfied as long as we continue to get good feedback and timely work.

How did Dymin Systems perform from a project management standpoint?

We don’t know the day-to-day support, but from the project perspective, it’s excellent. We have great communication with the project manager through Slack. We can ask him questions, and he’s excellent at feedback.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re timely, specific, and helpful, especially when they reply to our questions. Also, they provide good feedback and are pretty direct and responsive. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The high level of project management, such as the president and management team, needs a good knowledge base of day-to-day operations and helpdesk operators. That needs to be improved, so the knowledge base and the employee resources probably need to be increased.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You need to be accountable. Follow the project; don’t let a third party take over, especially when it’s your whole IT internal matters.
