BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I was the former owner of Bogo Boutique. I started the business in 2018 and took our sales online in 2019.

For what projects/services did your company hire Dulci Digital, and what were your goals?

We were new to e-commerce. Megan the owner of Dulci Digital worked directly with us to build a beautiful new website. She helped us with a logo, branding, social media, and getting all of our product pages set up in our Shopify store. She was friendly and always responsive to our needs and questions.

How did you select Dulci Digital and what were the deciding factors?

After comparing a few other options we decided on going with Dulci Digital because their proposal fit our needs and our budget best. They were very affordable which was important as we started out. They also seemed more focused on branding than some of the other people who offered web design. Because we were retail we knew our brand style would be important as well as the website itself. They offered a really comprehensive approach to help us bring everything together under one agency which we liked.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We used Shopify for our website platform. They helped us set up the custom design for the site and all of the product pages to get us started. Then they trained us on how to upload our own products so we could begin to manage the store ourselves online. They helped set up all the integrations for shipping, labels, and invoicing as well. In addition, they helped with a new logo design, branding style guide, messaging, social media account setups and posts, our launch ad campaign, and our print materials like thank you cards we placed with each order.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked directly with Megan. She served our team and lead the strategy. Behind the scenes, she had a small team, but most of our communication was with her directly. One of the technical people on the team to help with some web design was Zeeshan. He was also very pleasant.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our launch was successful, we got up to 50 thousand views on our Pinterest page within the first three months. We had significant sales with the first BOBO sale promotion we ran thanks to the launch ad campaign they helped us set up. After the launch, we ran things on our social media mostly ourselves with some help here and there from their team.

That holiday shopping season we ran more ads with them again that Black Friday and Cyber Monday with great results. They helped us with targeting the right audience and setting up tracking so we could re-market to our past visitors and those who followed us on social media. We had enough success that we were able to sell the company at the end of the first year which was our goal from the beginning.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

They were responsive, always quick to respond, and happy to help. We never had issues with communication with them. They always made us feel confident in the services they provided by giving us clear reports on progress and helping us set up analytics for our website.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The knowledge of how to build a brand paired with the knowledge to leverage digital marketing for an e-commerce site. They truly knew how to pull it all together to make our brand consistent across our channels.

They were also very willing to spend the extra time to train our team on how to be more independent when running the site and social media for ourselves. That was the biggest value-added for me. The fact that they helped us beyond providing service by providing education really stood out to me.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not that I can think of. I was very pleased with the entire experience with them and happy with the results they helped us achieve.
