We have heard about disruptive and they were recommended to us by another company. We knew that they were trusted and could achieve great results for us.

We started running PPC Ads for our DFARS Cybersecurity Online Workshop. These were very successful to begin with, disruptive was able to walk us through how changing our ads can optimize our ad spend. There were then a series of PPC Ad Campaigns that we ran due to the success we had to begin with.

We had an account manager, who often worked with a graphics team and content department to write ad copy.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to generate an outstanding amount of quality leads in a number of different ways through the different ads they were able to run. Almost all of our leads have been qualified and ready to act.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

During our bi-weekly meetings we were able to go over reports that were generated as a month to date summary on how well our ads were doing. Communication was great and they were able to work well with our team and explain some of the more technical concepts for us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We appreciated the dedication of our account manager in helping us to find solutions when ads were not performing as expected.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Something we would have liked to see is just more in-depth and organized reports on what was happening with our ads and within the industry. We were able to go over those things, but our bi-weekly reports were pretty minimal.

Disruptive is very transparent. They have always been very upfront with what they can and cannot deliver. They are also always open for discussion on any ideas we have and give us their honest feedback.

Carlos sends a report each month, we go through a strategy and budget and a plan to try to increase the number of leads and lead quality. We generate 20+ qualified leads per month.

We've had an excellent return on investment. We trimmed our budget about a year ago, but we spend $1000/month roughly on the PPC campaign and we generate many qualified leads.

They are really loyal, thoughtful, and helpful. They explain things in a way that is approachable. My favorite part is that they continue to refine the process over and over again. They're a team that's never content with yesterday's success.

We were looking for a leader in digital advertising — someone who we could rely on to perform most of our digital advertising and take our business to the next level. That’s why we engaged with Disruptive Advertising.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve had various projects ongoing with Disruptive Advertising at any given time. They handle our Google, Microsoft, Facebook, and Instagram Ads. Overall, they manage our entire digital advertising efforts.

We share information back and forth in a collaborative effort to define our target audience for the ads. We also have metrics in place to determine if the ads are working or not.

What is the team composition?

We work with a variety of people from Disruptive Advertising who range in positions, from a digital marketer all the way up to their head of revenue. At this point, we’ve worked with 4–5 people from their team. Each of them brings something different to the table, and they all have their areas of expertise.

We’re constantly talking, for example, to an expert on Facebook Ads, an expert on Google, and such; that’s the knowledge base that they have.

How did you come to work with Disruptive Advertising?

We searched for a new advertising company specifically focused on digital ads. We didn’t want to work with the average marketing company; we needed a company that worked with digital advertising every day.

I had seen Disruptive Advertising ads before, so they were already on our list. We went through a couple of companies, but they really stood out from the rest.

We’ve spent around $150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around April 2019, and the engagement is ongoing. We continue to use them for projects and look for new ways to get them involved because every time we give them something, they deliver.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We measure the success of their involvement both quantitatively and qualitatively. From a metrics standpoint, when we deliver the ads, we expect to get more sales to have an ROI. So far, the ads have often been more successful than not, so we’re extremely happy with them.

We also have other ads in place to increase our brand awareness, so each part of the funnel has different metrics. Disruptive Advertising has delivered on each one of them. They’re also very professional and extremely knowledgeable about everything that they do.

How did Disruptive Advertising perform from a project management standpoint?

Disruptive Advertising is excellent. When they bring an idea to the table and we start a project, there’s a lot of communication going on. Additionally, when they tell us that they’re going to get us something, they do; their deliverables are great.

They try to manage everything so that we put the minimal effort. They’re the experts, and they do a great job. We communicate via email and Zoom calls — they’re very collaborative. We have monthly or biweekly calls depending on the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Disruptive Advertising has high-level expertise in their field. For someone new to digital advertising, looking at everything that’s involved can be overwhelming. However, they do a great job breaking it down and setting realistic expectations.

Their results are also impressive; they deliver better results than other providers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing that Disruptive Advertising could improve on.

Set up everything so that they could do their audits. When they come in, they’re honest about what is working and what is not. They’ll evaluate your options — you’ll be impressed.

I came on board in the later part of 2018, and they’d already been with our company. Initially, we’d brought them on to assist with our Google lead generation, specifically to recruit new agents.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In the beginning, Disruptive customized plans, promotions, and campaigns to support our recruiting efforts and attract new agents to our company. Over the years, we’ve evolved, although we’re still using Google Ads. Now, we’re also using them for lead generation on social media. Last year, we had them help us with Facebook for both recruitment purposes and consumer lead generation.

What is the team composition?

We have two people dedicated to us right now. Since we started, there have been between 4–6 people working with us. We’ve had account managers that have come and gone, others who have been promoted, and then they gave us a new team when we started with social media. I’ve also met with a good chunk of their team to get the project off the ground.

I think someone highly recommended Disruptive, and that was why we started working with them.

How much have you invested with them?

In the beginning, we were paying $2,500 a month. Now that we’re also doing social media, we’re in the neighborhood of $4,000 a month, without including our ad spend.

The partnership with Disruptive started before I came in, and it’s still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Last year when we started social media, we had some goals about the specific amount of potential recruits that we wanted to get in the door, and they had to keep the good budget structure in place. As we transitioned a bit, they helped us get good leads and took it to the next level. Also, Disruptive tried new things for lead generation on social, and they got our people down really well.

Since then, we’ve made considerable efforts to do reports for them. We now have a person that handles our recruitment at Mandeville, Louisiana, and she’s done an excellent job of getting the metrics down. Therefore, we’ve been able to keep better track, which has helped them.

On social media, we’re still testing lead generation on Facebook, retargeting look-alike audiences. However, from January–July, our cost per lead has decreased, making my boss happy because we don’t have to pay as much to Google every month. Overall, we have a great system where we can provide them as much data as possible and ask them to helps us meet our goals.

How did Disruptive Advertising perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a weekly meeting with their team, and they’ve been very helpful. A lot depends on the project, but they’re usually very timely. Sometimes it may take them 1–2 days to get the order off the ground, but I understand that there’s a lot to building campaigns and getting them in place.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Customer service is a big piece, for sure. They’re responsive and available, and they really understand the technology behind what we’re trying to do. Moreover, they’re communicative, so if the team is testing something new, they’ll run it by us. We have a good rapport together, so we can be honest with them. They’re open to feedback, and if we need to pivot, we can do it fast.

Overall, they’re great listeners and just great people. Disruptive has taken a lot of time to understand our business and its needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think so. They’ve done a phenomenal job and been a great partner to us. I always tell them that if business continues to go well, I want to do a lot more projects with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Understand your goals and business needs before you make the call or walk in the door. Also, if you’re just starting on this type of work, do the homework yourself and take the time to learn about what it means to advertise on Google or Facebook.

The Account Executive was extremely knowledgeable and prepared to discuss solutions. I also appreciated the fact that he was very direct about expectations and implementation/launch timelines.

The team started off by understanding my goals and assigning team members to my project. Then, they built a landing page via Unbounce and set up LinkedIn ad campaigns for me. We will be launching Google Ad campaigns in the near future.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our LinkedIn campaign launched very recently, so I don't have a complete list of deliverables yet. However, in the first week the social media expert made some small tweaks to our target audience and bidding strategy, which nearly doubled the CTR.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We meet regularly while kicking off the project and building the assets. Going forward we will meet bi-weekly to discuss results. The team is readily available via email to answer follow-up questions.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are a one-stop shop for our digital marketing needs. However, I like the fact that they have subject-matter experts that are dedicated to a specific channel. Many other agencies I talked to have team members who manage strategy for all channels. I prefer Disruptive's channel-specific management approach.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Some of the initial campaign asset drafts didn't seem very complete. However, they were able to fine-tune all of the assets (e.g., landing page elements, ad copy, etc.) fairly quickly after I provided feedback.

We needed to extend our reach, bring our costs down, and increase our efficiency with PPC. In addition to that, we also wanted to increase the conversion rates on our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The partnership is an ongoing service-based process. Disruptive Advertising handles PPC for us. They tune and tweak our PPC campaigns and landing pages according to what’s working and what’s not. In terms of software, they use Google Analytics to make sure everything’s set up correctly, Unbounce for optimizing landing pages, Google Ads, and LinkedIn — they have a specialist for each one of those tools.

It’s too soon to tell, but with Disruptive Advertising, we’ve been able to decrease our cost-per-click spend by 30%, and we’ve also increased our conversion rates by 2.4%.

I took advantage of the company's free account audit. They called me immediately for some quick feedback, then prepared a presentation with more detail in a few days. They showed where we were wasting spend.

Disruptive met with us to discuss our goals and assigned an account manager. The account manager put us on track to measure out performance by conversions and did a complete restructure of our Google Ads account, researching keywords and writing new ads. Since late 2008 (before my time), we've been using Disruptive Advertising to create, execute and maintain our paid search campaigns for Google and Bing. Our goals are to supplement our organic and traditional traffic and maintain a low cost per call.

Initially we had selected Disruptive based off locality and they were pretty much one of the only businesses in the space. We stay with them because of our long term business relationship with the owner and our current account rep, Lui.

Create, execute and maintain our paid search campaigns for Google and Bing. This initially started at the end of 2008 and has been refined and expanded throughout the years. Currently we have 20 locations and each location has an individually catered strategy based off of competitors and services offered. Main KPIs we look at are cost per call, and conversion rate.

Overall we have had great success with Disruptive Advertising, and without a doubt we wouldn't be where we are today without their help. Throughout the years, our call volume has gone up and quite recently we've changed up the strategy and focused on better keywords that have driven our cost per call down.

Overall requests are completed very quickly, often times within a couple hours. They're very attentive, especially when the requests are time sensitive.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I feel like we may get some special treatment based on the length of our business relationship. We're definitely not their biggest client, but they'll move mountains for us if they need to. I think the way they value relationships speaks volumes.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Occasionally, it takes a few conversations to get something fixed or get things working more efficiently. Sometimes you have to be borderline annoying to get things the way that you want.

We hired Disruptive to manage our paid search and paid social campaigns.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The agency was hired by a former colleague.

Initially, the agency was responsible for building out campaigns and paid search and paid social demand gen strategy for the US. We later expanded into more countries. This involved global keyword research, strategy and ad copy. The agency provided weekly reporting and helped us track KPIs like MQLs.

We worked with three members of the Disruptive team. One person who managed US paid search, one person who managed paid social and one who managed global paid search.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The Disruptive team was a pleasure to work with. They really care that they are helping you meet your goals and if they can't, they are honest about it. They were great at creating a full funnel program, focused on generating top of funnel MQLs.

They were very organized. I preferred bi-weekly meetings, but they sent weekly summaries. They also used Data Studio for monthly reporting.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team was very honest about what they could and couldn't deliver on. Reports and deliverables were on time. We had a certain amount of creative credits a month, which helped us get ads created quickly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The agency shifted away from being an optimization agency, which meant that they couldn't help us with quality score improvements, etc.
