We needed DigitalDesign to build our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially shared all of our ideas with DigitalDesign, and then their team shared sketches of what they could do. Following the first meeting, we gave them content and graphics for our brand. They then gave us the initial version of the website's design. We gave them approval, and then their team started to build the website. After 2–3 rounds of edits, they finished the website and translated it into three different languages: Spanish, English, and Italian. Their team later worked on building a mobile version of the platform.

We’ve worked with Anjelika (Founder) and several members of her team. Two people on her team managed the website’s design and development.

I met Angelika 4–5 years ago while living in New York City.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested about $15,000 in this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in 2019, and the project lasted about a year because we made changes to the website and built a mobile version. We’re still in touch with them if we need any help.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website works, including the mobile version. It’s usually hard to make animations and graphics for mobile sites but their content fits across all of the different devices. We’re happy with the website.

We’re satisfied with all of our projects with DigitalDesign. It’s always a pleasure working with them, and we’re still working together. We’ll be collaborating for a long time.

How did DigitalDesign.NYC perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team always meets deadlines. We work well together, so we’re satisfied from this point of view too. They’re a great partner.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re experts. We needed unique graphics and animations, and DigitalDesign made them. Their team includes people from all around the world, so they have different perspectives, expertise, and skills. They’re really creative, and I appreciate that.

For what projects/services did your company hire DigitalDesign.NYC?

We hired DigitalDesign.NYC for assisting with the development of prototypes and UI design for scenario planning of Electric Grids. The products were used to for showcasing predicted failures in critical electricity distribution assets under various real-world use cases. This effort was used for supporting numerous business development conversations as well as to support our thought leadership initiatives.

What were your goals for this project?

To develop a high-quality visual design that would serve as a prototype of the final product To develop high-quality visual aids that would support conversations with customers around developing market entry strategies such as battery storage, distributed solar and electric buses based on Grid Load.

SOLUTION

How did you select DigitalDesign.NYC?

We selected DigitalDesign.NYC based on a multi-level selection process, starting with a request for proposal followed by 2 rounds of pitching sessions, where the team from DigitalDesign showcased their talent and capabilities by proactively sharing wireframes and other success stories that we could draw best practices from. The contract was awarded after commercial discussions.

Describe the project in detail.

We hired DigitalDesign.NYC for assisting with the development of prototypes and UI design for scenario planning of Electric Grids. The products were used to for showcasing predicted failures in critical electricity distribution assets under various real-world use cases.

The project was delivered in 3 incremental sprints - each of 2 weeks duration. The end product was tested and hosted on our on-prem servers. DigitalDesign.NYC supported us by providing us resourcing and cost efficiency by using their local & offshore teams on this project.

However, they did provide us with an on-shore lead who served as our single point of contact for all daily interactions, including, but not limited to, design & requirements gathering sessions and all project & commercials management activities.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

At the end of the 3 sprints, we had a fully functional proto-type design that we could use to support a number of consulting discussions with potential customers.

This gave our team a distinct competitive advantage in showcasing our a tailored approach to market strategy, not a generic methodology that is offered by most of the other consulting firms today. We were able to secure 2 new logos for the organization as a result of utilizing a working proto type.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their onshore Project Manager was extremely methodical and had a strong eye for detail. This individual served as a single point of contact for us making all communications seamless and was able to quickly resolve any issues that were identified during the project.

We had twice-daily calls to review progress and plan for the current and subsequent sprint cycles. We typically used WebEx for all meetings and Jira for progress tracking.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was most impressed by the spirit of partnership that was demonstrated by the DigitalDesign.NYC team. They worked as our partner at every step, from setting up your programme through to making sure that the benefits that were planned for got delivered within time and budget.

As an organization that has it's roots deeply embedded in working with & as a digital start-up itself, they have a highly competent team of designers & developers who truly know how to design a successful digital experience, from probing users’ unmet needs to building a minimum viable product and iterating it based on user feedback.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our engagement. The only room for improvement that could potentially increase the speed of operations for any future, longer-term projects could be to open up a direct channel of communication with the offshore developers without any need for translators.

Although we understand that this could also increase costs and given our tight schedules, the current delivery model was best suited for our needs.

DigitalDesign.NYC did a wonderful job on our website, achieving exactly what I expected. They delivered a high-quality platform on time. Everyone who looks at the website likes it.

DigitalDesign.NYC provided us with a chat tool that was easy to access. We dropped pictures in the product and communicated through it. It was easy working with their team, which was professional. In particular, Anjelika was great.

DigitalDesign.NYC was professional and detail-oriented. Their team paid attention to what I wanted and effectively expressed that through the website.

There was no way for DigitalDesign.NYC to have done better than their team did.

My father's cobbler business has been passed down to me and I am now the owner of a store front in lower Manhattan. We do the best work and can turn any shoe into new. We also work with zippers, leather, and more.

My father and I never had a website or social accounts. The only way people found us was by walking passed the storefront. We hired DigitalDesign.NYC to work on a website and bring presence to online media. Our goal was to have people search us when looking for shoe repair and they certainly have made that possible!

Anjelika is a client of mine and we spoke about needing a rebrand when she came in one time. We then decided this is who we must work with because she is amazing.

We had a meeting with Anjelika on what we needed for the website. What information and how we thought we wanted it to look. First they designed us a logo and some quick mockups of the site. We went forward with the colors chosen and they began working on it right away.

They updated a landing page with our history, hours, services, and contact information. The social media was created and we are now discoverable on Google Maps, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

We worked with Anjelika who is the owner and project manager as well as Marcella their designer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After gaining some social media pretense, a lot more people came in based off google search. It has really helped our business grow.

The team knew innovating ways to create a presence online. They were quick with adjustments and taught me some ways to stay present with my business as well.

I did a search online and this company came up on my feed.

We started off with a meeting to go over what I wanted the website to look like. I asked for an animated home page along with a contact form. The website was built using the Wix platform.

A project manager and two developers worked with me on the website.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Upon launching the website we saw an increase in traction and an increase in clients that contacted us.

We had daily and weekly updates via email and phone call. I gave them a timeline of 3 months and they got it done even earlier.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Digital Design NYC was professional and had a very impressive response time. They were very friendly and personal. They gave me their undivided attention during our meeting and made this website a priority.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Honestly, there are no areas that I noticed they could improve on. Everything was amazing!

For what projects/services did your company hire DigitalDesign.NYC, and what were your goals?

My company, Touché Films matured to the point that we wanted to seek outside investment. To this end we needed a proper deck, not only that we needed to be as disruptive as we are.

So we hired to DigitalDesign.NYC to design deck materials (and narrative).

SOLUTION

How did you select DigitalDesign.NYC and what were the deciding factors?

DigitalDesign.NYC we've seen their work with Sqrl and Brick & Portal, and knew they had de design chops and good taste we needed to build this deck.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We wanted to go beyond a simple keynote presentation. So we built a fully interactive Investment Pitch Deck. It lived online and as a build for offline presentations. It presented our data through animated and interactive graphs, as well as video.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

4 in total, including the founder. As far as their roles go I don't remember well since they had very flexible roles, which was quite refreshing to be honest.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We got our deliverables, and killed it with the pitch deck. We ended up having an attractive acquisition proposal from one of the investors we pitched. So yes, they're help overdelivered.

As stated earlier, roles were flexible. Everybody had enough domain expertise to float through the roles. That doesn't imply they weren't disciplined or unprofessional. Quite the contrary, the founder, who supervised and coordinated the project was very stern and supremely deadline oriented.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their good taste. It's hard to come by with a company that can honestly boast that.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would say, their intense level of commitment could use a bit of heads up. At one point you do feel you work for them since they are so invested in the project.

I am a self-employed writer and artist.

I need an upgrade to my website, featuring my new book.

What were your goals for this project?

To increase traffic to my website by providing a professional and polished platform to inform and attract readers interested in purchasing my new book and my previous book.

SOLUTION

How did you select DigitalDesign.NYC?

I was given some names and interviewed a few people that were not interested in taking on this small job and were trying to sell me expensive monthly packages that I did not need. Through WIX, I found DigitalDesign.NYC. I put out my needs and my budget and was pleased that Anjelika promptly responded in the affirmative.

Describe the project in detail.

I discussed my needs to add some material to my site, in order to showcase my new book. Anjelika was very responsive, creating a bullet point task page and timeline. She worked quickly and efficiently with a great eye for balance, design and color. She created tabs to make the site more user friendly for the reader. We communicated by email and she always responded promptly.

What was the team composition?

I worked directly with Anjelika via email. Even though she is in New York and I am in California, we were able to cooperate and collaborate in a timely manner. When some edits needed to be made, she was very responsive and adapted the forms to meet my vision.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We just finished this project but I expect this new design to make my site more accessible and I expect it to increase flow and traffic toward marketing my material. Personally, I feel more relaxed and confident being able to promote a polished looking site to customers.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Anjelika was easy to communicate with and provided both clear timelines and goals. She would follow up each time to get confirmation on the success of the tasks. We had a very effective workflow.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was blown away by how knowledgeable, efficient, and professional they were. I loved working with Anjelika and liked her flexibility and adaptability, while producing a very professional and artistic looking product. On top of what I asked for, Anjelika went above and beyond with her ideas to improve the look of the site that vastly improved it's functionality.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No. And this may be the first time I have said that about any company. Her speed and efficiency, her artistic eye and technical know how was very impressive.

I’m the president of M&G Packaging and we’re a national packaging company supplying mostly to the airline industry. We also manufacture biodegradable plastics.

What challenge were you trying to address with DigitalDesign.NYC?

We hired them to create a website and wanted to develop a marketing plan to get our brand new patent, Bio Nature.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I gave DigitalDesign.NYC about 15 bullet points on what I wanted to achieve. They created a logo and worked on brand identity. Anjelika (Founder) specifically came up with the design and brand new logo for us that is airline-related, with an airplane going up in the air. They also did development and design work for our website as well.

What is the team composition?

I work specifically with Anjelika, Stephen (UI/UX Designer), and one other person.

How did you come to work with DigitalDesign.NYC?

I met someone who knew Anjelika and that’s how this all started. I’m a serial entrepreneur, so I have a bunch of businesses and with one of the companies that I purchased, Anjelika had actually created the website. I liked the website and wanted to get my other company revamped.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested about $50,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in May 2016 and the collaboration is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re 100% satisfied. I would definitely recommend them and I don’t usually like to recommend people.

How did DigitalDesign.NYC perform from a project management standpoint?

Anjelika is always very reachable. For example, if something came up today and I needed edits or something, I’d have them this afternoon or evening. It’s not going to be a week. Meeting deadlines is extremely important and that is something I think they excel in. They’re really running a tight ship and are really on it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re able to understand what we’re looking for and deliver on that. My descriptions were very vague and they were still able to really nail it. The team is also very economical. They’re willing to make little changes without killing us on the price, which is huge because I’ve had companies that make small changes and then we get a $500 or $1,000 bill.

No, I can’t think of anything.

I’d wanted to make a website, and I contacted a few people in Switzerland.

I wasn’t too happy with them, but then I came across DigitalDesign.NYC and liked their enthusiasm and service.

What was the scope of their involvement?

My intention was to build a site that would reveal my expertise and way of working. Their team presented me with ideas that included a video of my actual production process. They flew two members to my office in Switzerland for filming and photography.

What is the team composition?

They’re based in New York, and they have a creative team working in the background. I worked directly with the two people that flew to Switzerland, and I worked with another person over email.

I interacted with around three members of their team, some more than others. Anjelika (Founder) was my main point of contact.

How did you come to work with DigitalDesign.NYC?

I was introduced to them by a friend while visiting New York. DigitalDesign.NYC showed that they were keen on doing a great job, and I trusted them. They seemed very flexible and enthusiastic.

I told them that I was based in Europe, but they didn’t see that as an obstacle in us working together.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested over 20,000 francs (approximately $22,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

Once a project is finished, they don’t let go of their clients. They’ve given me updates on additional implementations and advice on other aspects of the site.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The website was beyond my expectations. DigitalDesign.NYC is a professional and creative team with flexible and intriguing ideas. They depicted an accurate image of my office and work. I’m very happy with the end results, and I’m lucky to have found this company.

I’m really pleased with the imaging they’ve put on the site. It really reveals our style and character, as a firm working on elite projects. The site gets mentioned in meetings, and it’s definitely a positive element to have. It’s modern and creative, yet classy.

How did DigitalDesign.NYC perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re an enthusiastic and professional group, especially Anjelika. She’s always available, creative, and accommodating. She’s very respectful of the time and delivery.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with their flexibility, innovation, and listening ability. Their team has the ability to understand the client’s needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m sure there could be, but I’m very satisfied with their work. They should just continue to be as accommodating as they are.

I'm a freelance media professional. My work is based in Europe, the US, and Latin America, so it can vary a lot. I can do jobs on my own, but I might find myself hiring a team to deal with film and post-production, which includes editing and effects in the video realm.

What challenge were you trying to address with  DigitalDesign.NYC?

At the time that I reached out to Digital Design, I was formally launching my business to give myself a public identity and subsequently do some outreach to get clients.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created a presentation website that showcased me and my portfolio of work as well as contact information. In that sense, it was a relatively simple site, and I wanted something minimal. 

I did have certain expectations with the aesthetics. I’m based in Europe, so my clientele is mostly Europeans. As a result, I wanted a website that had a Berlin vibe or something that was similar to a lot of other techno websites. 

I gave Digital Design some references and had a dialogue with the person in charge of the design. We spoke on the phone, and they created a visual idea of the site, sending me a couple of options. I gave my preferences, and then the final product came out.

What is the team composition?

I was in regular contact with Digital Design’s CEO and founder. I also communicated my concerns with Amanda (Design Director), who oversaw the creation of the site.

How did you come to work with DigitalDesign.NYC?

I searched for someone to create a website by referencing people. I reached out to Digital Design and got in touch with their founder, who I met in college. They proposed their services, and I decided it was the best way for me to go about setting up my business. 

How much have you invested with them?

I spent around $10,000–$12,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January–March 2019, but I’m always able to reach out to them if I want any updates.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Digital Design produced something that effectively met my expectations and made a difference in the way they presented the site’s aesthetics. I’m proud to present my website, and this is something that I consistently do. 

I was also pleasantly surprised that I attained clients who reached out to me merely because they saw my website. We didn’t have any link through a colleague or reference — they were completely anonymous, so to speak. This happened to me on three occasions, and they were decently sized contracts. I couldn’t have planned or expected them in advance. 

I didn’t have the aesthetic vision that Digital Design had, so when they produced what I was looking for, I was more than satisfied. 

How did  DigitalDesign.NYC perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything went well, and they did everything that I requested in a timely manner. They were attentive, and they answered quickly — that was priceless.

I also have regular access to them even after creating the website to get some advice concerning marketing or any big or small questions. I’d recommend them to anyone who wants to create a platform or need some advice with branding. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The price of their services was competitive, and their accessibility was something I appreciated. I might have known their CEO personally, but I didn’t take that for granted — I also appreciated it. I enjoyed the creative vision they put forth, so I was very satisfied with what they produced. It was beyond my expectations. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

As far as I’m concerned, there is none. I contacted them for something very specific, and they delivered. It wasn’t the most complex operation. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’m in Europe and my clientele is spread out, but the Digital Design team is based in New York. I would suggest keeping in mind the cultural and local sensitivities that would make a brand work in a certain space and within certain market circumstances. I know that there’s an international element in their team, so they do presumably have an awareness of that.
