I am the founder, owner, and creative director of a home design studio.

What challenge were you trying to address with DigitalDesign.NYC?
We needed help strategizing a new brand identity and developing a new website.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had an initial call to discuss our vision and different aspects of my goal. They asked questions and developed a plan to bring our vision to life. They walked us through a detailed branding strategy and helped us create a new website from scratch using WordPress and other technologies.
They created different designs for me to review, and I gave my feedback and approval for the design we ultimately ended up using. Then, they used the final design to influence logos and color schemes.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with five team members from DigitalDesign.NYC, including UI/UX developers, back-and-frontend developers, and a project manager.
How did you come to work with DigitalDesign.NYC?
We found DigitalDesign.NYC through a referral. I researched them online alongside other companies. They were very engaged and passionate about our project, so we felt comfortable moving forward with the partnership.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested $25,000–$50,000 in the partnership.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with DigitalDesign.NYC in January 2019, and the partnership is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The branding and website design has come out wonderfully, and I’m delighted with their work. I’m a home designer, so it’s crucial to stand out from a design perspective and DigitalDesign.NYC has helped me do that.
DigitalDesign.NYC has created a very intuitive, fast-moving website. Their work has added value to my business, and I see more conversions from my website. The investment has been worth it, and I see more projects for my business as a result.
How did DigitalDesign.NYC perform from a project management standpoint?
DigitalDesign.NYC is punctual regarding meetings and deadlines, and they deliver on budget. They’re diligent about following up, and I’ve never had to chase them down for anything. We typically communicate via text and Zoom.
They’ve been patient with me and good about implementing feedback to ensure they delivered exactly what I had envisioned. I’ve felt very comfortable with the partnership because they work to understand my needs and accommodate any changes as needed. They’ve been very efficient; even when they delivered their original design options, most of them were in line with what I asked for, and we didn’t go through many iterations to get to the final product, which was perfect.
It feels like DigitalDesign.NYC cares deeply about my brand. They’ve been wonderful to work with; they’re willing to help with anything from A-Z. We’ve hit it off, and the partnership has worked well. I reach out to them whenever I need assistance with branding or development. I’ve also referred their services to others because they’ve been such a massive help to me.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve been most impressed with their ability to understand my needs and execute what I ask for. They’re very good at articulating my vision in a way that makes sense from a technology standpoint. As a business owner, I want to be proud of my brand, and they’ve done a great job representing my business in a visually appealing way.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I have nothing DigitalDesign.NYC could improve on.

I advise making a list before your initial meeting with DigitalDesign.NYC so you can explain your goals, and they’ll help you strategize to develop the best possible business plan.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and founder of Sozen Studio. We are an interior design company and I’ve done staging and home depot for various different projects.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Design NYC?
I can do the marketing side of my business, but I needed somebody to do the web development side. I wanted a very cool website that can display and showcase some of the works I’ve done.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built the website from scratch and followed my preferences in the direction of the website. I shared all my ideas and what I’m trying to represent on my site. However, because the team has so much experience, they took my vision and finished it. They’ve worked with much-advanced software that works with Android and Apple products — that’s why they’ve helped to make everything custom adjustable regardless of the type of phone our target market uses.
The biggest project that we’ve done so far was the home decor line that I was creating, which is placed under the section of my Sozen Studio site where you’ll see different concepts of various plates. I’m coming out with a dinnerware line and I just needed a cool way to show the different styles of the different plates I have. Basically, customers can pick a design and custom order them. It was Digital Design NYC’s idea to display our different works since I’m doing everything custom to order, and I’m not holding the inventory.
For example, when I need something changed on my website such as putting a new design for a place that I’ve made, they just add it for me. The team literally gives me assistance without always trying to charge me with everything. I’ve worked with people in the past that even if you breathe and just want to say hi to them, they’re already going to send you an invoice.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with around 5 people from their team including the founder herself.
How did you come to work with Digital Design NYC?
Digital Design NYC was referred to me. One day I was just having a coffee with someone and I just had a meeting, and I mentioned I was looking for a tech company. At that time, I’ve already had meetings with some other companies that we’re okay with, but none of them really stood out. I ended up not working with them because I didn’t feel a sense of connection and I couldn’t see that they really love what they do there.
My company is my baby and I’ve put my blood, sweat, and tears into it — it’s been something I’ve been working on for over five years. When you go to an agency to showcase everything that you’ve done and showcase whatever it is you have — it’s important that you feel some sense of community. I also wanted to assure myself that the team I’m going to be working with really cares about my project — and I saw that in Digital Design NYC. Above all, I knew that they were not just trying to do it just to make money.
When they were suggested by my friend, she said really great things about the founder, and everything that she said just made me really want to give it a shot. She connected us to the team and we scheduled a meeting where I said everything that I wanted to do. The team told me that some of the things I’ve shared would be a waste of time or an extra cost for no reason — and they could’ve made a huge amount of money with that, but instead, they chose to be honest with what I wanted, what they could deliver, and what would make the most sense for me financially.

I’ve spent approximately $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with them in February 2019, and our partnership is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve been doing top of the line work and use great technology. The design of our frontend has been great and whatever is on the backend works very well too. My website has never crashed which is far from what other websites are experiencing. Whenever I needed to tweak something, I have never had a problem getting assistance from Digital Design NYC. They can solve our issues very well. Most of all, none of my concerns have ever been neglected.
They’ve been able to come up with an amazing website. I’ve liked the feature where my clients can just hover several plate numbers in order to get their desired design and customer order them. I really thought it was cool because I don’t have to necessarily hold all the inventory, especially in New York City — a place that doesn’t have a lot of space. They also made sure everything was custom adjustable so that it looks great no matter which type of device that you open it on. I’m not sure what that’s called, but I think it’s pretty advanced and cool because I’ve seen other people’s websites where they can look very different depending on the size of the screen and where you open it up.
Moreover, everything is responsive and works really fast. There's never a glitch, and there’s never an issue — the website always works very well and seamlessly. Overall, their whole team is great and they care about my project. They’re passionate about what they’re doing — it's what makes them stand out to me as opposed to other agencies. I haven’t felt that at all and I feel like they really want to see me succeed. If they can help with a little something here and there, they just do it, which makes me want to bring all my projects with them.
How did Digital Design NYC perform from a project management standpoint?
They constantly ask me if I need anything and the team’s follow-up process is impressive. I feel like if anything was to go wrong, I feel confident I have the right kind of support and I have someone to fix it immediately. It wouldn’t be the same where I have to send in an email or try to chase somebody down to help me. Then, they take forever to get back to me. Instead, Digital Design NYC is very hands-on and quick.
They work well together, and everything just flows really well. Most of all, they are timely and ensures a seamless workflow. Additionally, their founder is smart — whenever we hit a roadblock, she’s always capable of finding its solutions.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I am a creator and inventor, and I’m constantly coming up with different ideas and things. That’s why anything that I need and don’t know how to do — I need an agency that can do it — Digital Design NYC is for sure my go-to.
Everything that I’ve done with them, I’ve been very satisfied with. I referred them to other people for different needs and projects. I wanted to review them because I think it’s significant for entrepreneurs such as myself to have an agency like them that really caters to entrepreneurs and everyone across the board. They’re a team who does not only take our ideas — they really get what we want. Whenever we explain something to them, they can really deliver on it. Sometimes clients do not understand what they want and they don’t know how to articulate what’s on their mind, but Digital Design NYC has a way of ‘reading’ their client’s mind, and they have turned our several ideas into realities.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, honestly I didn’t have any issues with them. Whenever we experienced any challenges in the past, they’ve been able to overcome them. They make things look easy because they’re good at it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have an idea of what you’re trying to do and what kind of design you want. As a result, when you go to sit down and talk to them, you can explain your project and have them build on top of that. They can also present you with options of the different types of designs based on what you already think that you want.
You can’t just show up to an agency not knowing anything. I have been pretty confused myself, but I really loved how they have been able to take the little bits that I’ve shared and create what I want. They've been really able to put all the elements together and the project has left me happy in the end.
