Cross Origin is a branding and web design agency based in Haywards Heath, Mid Sussex. We work with businesses and charities across Sussex and the South East to get their brand right, then build it to work online.
The agency is led by founders Piero Barba, Creative Director, and Tim Vaughan, Digital Director, alongside Claire Scott, Head of Content Strategy, and Paul Block, Senior Designer. We keep the team small and senior, so the people you meet at the start are the people who do the work.
Every project begins with understanding before design. We look at how your brand is seen today, what your audience needs to know, and where the gap sits between the organisation you are and the one people see. For clients who want that clarity first, our Diagnostics service is a structured brand and digital audit that shows exactly what needs to change.
Our work then falls into three areas. Create covers brand strategy, positioning, messaging and visual identity. Build covers bespoke website design and development, with managed hosting and ongoing support. Grow covers digital marketing, including SEO and helping your business get understood and recommended by AI search tools such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity.
Brand strategy and website build sit within one team. Your website isn't handed to a separate developer working from someone else's brief, so the decisions made in strategy carry through to the page structure, the copy and the code.

Cross Origin started in 2019. Piero Barba and Tim Vaughan were directors at a shopping centre marketing agency, where they had built their own in-house design studio.
