Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The project is to build a custom solution to manage equipment rentals, reservations, inventory and maintenance logs. The major objective is to create an inviting and easy-to-use system for Ski Tech’s customers and employees. It should be intuitive and answer the major questions customers have about renting equipment without the need for a phone call or clicking around the website.

The “back end” of the system should also be efficient for employees. Minimizing clicks and having all related tasks easily accessible in the same compartment of the system is vital. It should also have an employee login and PIN system to automatically assign an employee to “transactions” when setting up customer equipment and logging maintenance.

The system must also include management of active and inactive/sold inventory. The inventory items portion of the system should be able to handle any type of inventory item and have customizable settings for each inventory item type.

The system will need to interface with a payment processing gateway to store cards, charge a deposit (including 0%), and place a hold on funds. This all must be done in a PCI-compliant manner. 

The front end of the system should be able to integrate into an existing website without navigating outside of the domain/sub-domain of the website.

The system should work on any type of mobile device and display properly in light and dark modes on the device. The end-product must meet existing needs, but should be scalable.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Improved Customer Satisfaction: Bluebird Mountain Sports has witnessed enhanced customer satisfaction. 
• Increased Revenue: Bluebird Mountain Sports has seen a surge in bookings and an increase in revenue.  
• Improved Operational Efficiency: Bluebird Mountain Sports staff are now able to process equipment check-outs and check-ins much faster, streamlining operations.

Covalience was very responsive and communicated changes to time and effort needs very proactively. Generally, the changes were very minor.  They were also proactive in identifying potential issues as additional features were added throughout the process.

Their ability to anticipate issues that would compromise the desired outcome before they became a systemic problem.

We have worked with Covalience on a long standing relationship to provide additional resources to deliver on client needs and to advance our roadmap. Additionally, we have had dedicated QA and Support Engineering teams.

We had a very aggressive timeline on some of our new feature development and Covalience is excellent at helping to plan and then deliver against mutually agreed upon timelines. They delivered whole new application modules for our solution suite.

They have great project management and continually delivered against set deliverables.

Their work ethic and their commitment to excellence. They seem to have a great culture; their management and leadership are very responsive and great partners.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Covalience, LLC could have done differently?

Running off shore and supplemental dev teams can be hard. I think one thing we could have done better from our end was give them more exposure to the whole team and platform. Sometimes they were forced to work with only part of the whole story. This was a bit challenging given time zone differences between our teams... 
something we could have done a bit better is having focused training plans on our application for new team members at Covalience. But I don't really hold them responsible for this.

Covalience worked with me and my client to implement a conversion of existing production system, based in VBA/SQL Server, to an Azure-based web solution. They were critial to the design, UI/UX, API, FireBase/authentication, CI/CD, testing, documentation and deployment. This project lasted several years and I have had nothing but an amazing experience. They are smart, responsive, genuinely committed to delivering the highest quality, and awesome to work with. I would and have recommended them.

Outcome matching on extremely complex functionality, user acceptance of the UI/UX as familiar and easy to use in comparison to the current production system, security implementation to increase level of authentication for a financial application, client acceptance of the system

Their project management was excellent, I always knew where we were in the process, could track via DevOps, weekly standing calls, agile sprint process, ALWAYS responsive to changes (and there were MANY over the course of the project). Excellent knowledge transfer as team members changed over time.
