The solutions they help us develop must guarantee the security of procedures by validating the identity and ensuring the non-repudiation of the people who carry them out.

How did you come to work with Coderland?

A partner of ours told us about Coderland's offering and business model, and we were interested because it fits perfectly with the development of our projects. We chose them because they demonstrated they could meet our specialized staffing needs without having to invest in expensive resources, which we typically need on a project-by-project basis. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Coderland's project was instrumental in changing the way our end client delivers its services to its customers. The project included the development of an online processing portal that guaranteed and improved our client's reach.

Our client's service was based on in-person customer service. The lines for assistance were endless, and there were many complaints. With Coderland, we developed a self-service portal that allowed 33% of in-person transactions to be completed online in the first year, and by the second year, the percentage had already risen to 42%. This obviously impacted the operations of the various branches, allowing us to maximize efforts and improve the quality of service.

How did Coderland perform from a project management standpoint?

Projects are generally completed on time. Obviously, every project has deviations, but these were handled appropriately and within the scope planned at the start of the project. Coderland always handles projects very professionally.

We use various communication methods, including email, in-person meetings with the contact in Panama, virtual meetings, and working groups using various tools.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of the resources assigned has always been top-notch. The most important thing for us is to have qualified personnel who have had very little training with us and who can deliver tasks efficiently and with quality. With Coderland, we meet the objectives of each project.

As I said, all projects have deviations. There's always room for improvement. Once the projects are evaluated, better ways can be found, but overall, I think the project fully met expectations and expectations agreed upon with Coderland.

At the outset, our principal objective was to outsource non-core developments—such as e-commerce plug-ins for our payment gateway and SDKs and libraries in multiple programming languages—in order to streamline the work of external developers.

We've prepared documents with the candidate profiles we're looking for and given them to Coderland by Dominion. These profiles are focused on social media and digital knowledge. Additionally, we need our new teammates to be able to locate users on social media, so we've asked for candidates with user acquisition talents. 

I'm in charge of onboarding new employees, and Coderland by Dominion has helped us coordinate the training between the new team members and myself.

They've also helped us save a lot of time managing these resources because if we start working with a candidate that doesn't fit, they change this person immediately. Initially, we worked with a different developer, but we weren't happy with the results, so they got us a new developer in less than a week.

Our current developer matches the development speed we have internally, but working with him is less expensive than hiring an in-house engineer. Therefore, working with Coderland by Do-minion has helped us save around 20% on costs and around 15–20 hours of work.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Coderland by Dominion has been helping us develop technology-based platforms to manage our staff and development projects within our company. The latest project that we’ve worked on is an internal back-office application, which they took from the former development team and expanded in terms of functionality and maintenance. 

Regarding the processes for these projects, our internal team is in charge of creating requirements for each task, which include development and staff augmentation. They send those requirements to an internal analysis area that makes functional documentation and then work on creating the product. In terms of technologies, since we have to integrate with the rest of our tech stack, which is legacy applications, we want them to use Java for coding and PostgreSQL databases.

Coderland by Dominion’s project management is good. We’ve had minor deviations from the schedules we’ve established, but most of the time, that’s because of our way of handling projects. In addition, their project manager has very close contact with us, and communication is fluid — we used Jira, Slack, and Confluence.

Overall, we’re happy and impressed by the results of their work.

They could improve their reporting process, but we have already discussed this with them.

Invest your time and effort in the project; you can completely rely on them, but internal things are also very important for the partnership. In addition, be mature enough to handle their requirements properly.
