Furthermore, their focus on the human and technical quality of their talent is evident. The assigned professionals not only met the technical profile but also aligned perfectly with the work culture, agile methodology, and pace of the project.

Honestly, we wouldn't do anything differently. The Coderland team integrated very well, understood our needs from the start, and met the established objectives.

Since we couldn’t cover all the working hours we needed, we needed to locate talent who could. We hired Coderland by Dominion to source employees in Latin America for us.

Coderland by Dominion has provided us with recruiting services. The team has helped us source and manage talent in Latin America. Initially, we signed a contract for Coderland by Dominion to source three candidates. From there, we've extended our engagement to include more candidates. 

We've prepared documents with the candidate profiles we're looking for and given them to Coderland by Dominion. These profiles are focused on social media and digital knowledge. Additionally, we need our new teammates to be able to locate users on social media, so we've asked for candidates with user acquisition talents. 

I'm in charge of onboarding new employees, and Coderland by Dominion has helped us coordinate the training between the new team members and myself.

They've met schedules and delivered within the budget. We communicate one-on-one with Jacobo, which has been fluid and seamless. As for tools, we mainly use phone calls, but we also use email and Zoom calls when discussing something specific.

The most impressive aspect of working with Coderland by Dominion has been the ease of work and communication — everything has been straightforward. Moreover, Coderland by Dominion has been very honest with us.

What we’ve asked from them is outside of their core services; the types of profiles we need aren't the type they usually work with. Therefore, this engagement has been a challenge for Coderland by Dominion, and they’ve overcome it with flying colors.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Coderland by Dominion's services have allowed us to save time in the HR area, as we've avoided doing the initial interviews to find a candidate. They've also helped us save a lot of time managing these resources because if we start working with a candidate that doesn't fit, they change this person immediately. Initially, we worked with a different developer, but we weren't happy with the results, so they got us a new developer in less than a week.

Our current developer matches the development speed we have internally, but working with him is less expensive than hiring an in-house engineer. Therefore, working with Coderland by Do-minion has helped us save around 20% on costs and around 15–20 hours of work.

How did Coderland by Dominion perform from a project management standpoint?

Coderland by Dominion delivers on time and on budget. We mainly communicate via phone calls and emails.

I would like to give a shout-out to Jacobo. He's in charge of the relationship between Coderland by Dominion and our company, and he has made everything very smooth and easy for both sides, including our communication.

There's nothing they could improve on. If anything, maybe their prices could be lower, but they're already low.

The project has proved to be a great success with both individuals executing the required work quickly and effectively, and Coderland has streamlined the whole process for us. In summary, Coderland saved us time and money in this project.

We needed help developing a custom software to support our different business areas.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Coderland by Dominion has been helping us develop technology-based platforms to manage our staff and development projects within our company. The latest project that we’ve worked on is an internal back-office application, which they took from the former development team and expanded in terms of functionality and maintenance. 

Regarding the processes for these projects, our internal team is in charge of creating requirements for each task, which include development and staff augmentation. They send those requirements to an internal analysis area that makes functional documentation and then work on creating the product. In terms of technologies, since we have to integrate with the rest of our tech stack, which is legacy applications, we want them to use Java for coding and PostgreSQL databases.

Coderland by Dominion’s project management is good. We’ve had minor deviations from the schedules we’ve established, but most of the time, that’s because of our way of handling projects. In addition, their project manager has very close contact with us, and communication is fluid — we used Jira, Slack, and Confluence.

Overall, we’re happy and impressed by the results of their work.

They could improve their reporting process, but we have already discussed this with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Invest your time and effort in the project; you can completely rely on them, but internal things are also very important for the partnership. In addition, be mature enough to handle their requirements properly.

Coderland by Dominion has become an ally for us in IT staff augmentation services by providing us with specialized staff. We work on a staff augmentation modality, but they also help us with the development and testing of certain modules of different specific projects.

Regarding the process, they usually provide us with an estimation of the project. Then we negotiate and send it for approval to our technical area, and they start working on it afterward.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Coderland by Dominion is currently developing a web portal for one of our clients. The solution has different components: a process automation platform and a frontend that receives user requirements for various procedures. In this project, Coderland by Dominion is in charge of the portal, which is the platform’s frontend.

For development, they use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The platform also has an API and authentication functionality.

We have a project manager, a full-time developer, and additional developers when we’re in high demand.

The first round of hiring that we had was easy because we were able to find the right candidates after only 2–3 rounds of interviews. The last two positions we hired for were more difficult because of the specificity of the roles.

Coderland by Dominion has performed well in terms of project management. They manage their tasks well. We use ClickUp for project management, and we typically communicate through Slack and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Coderland by Dominion process has been very organized, which makes for a smooth workflow. We also appreciate their transparency.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Coderland by Dominion could improve on understanding our requirements a little better. In the second phase of our project, I ended up interviewing many people that don’t match what we were looking for.

What challenges were you trying to address with Coderland by Dominion?

One of our clients, an educational institution, wanted to build a platform to provide information to their students and strengthen their digital presence. The platform’s UI was a very important component — they wanted to convey a modern image and have a user-friendly site. Although we have very experienced developers, we lack UI/UX design specialists. Thus, we decided to collaborate with Coderland.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Coderland is helping us with our project with the UI/UX design portion. Our client had done some research on the UI/UX they wanted, so they initially provided us with that and some brand guidelines. Based on our client’s input, Coderland has worked on creating the designs using Figma.

What was the team composition? 

We’ve worked with a UI/UX designer, a project manager, and an account manager.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent around €23,000 (approximately $24,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in July 2022, and it’s an ongoing collaboration.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

At the end of 2022, we put into production the first portion of the development process, the public website, implementing Coderland’s designs. The client was very satisfied with the site, and they received very good feedback from associates. Additionally, they told us that their site’s traffic increased significantly. Now, we’re working on the second portion of the project.

How did Coderland by Dominion perform from a project management standpoint?

Coderland has done a pretty good job. They’re based in Venezuela, so we have a big time difference. However, they changed their work schedule so that they could be available for at least 4–5 working hours in our time zone. Their team is in constant communication via Microsoft (MS) Teams, and they always check in on us to solve questions and update us on the project’s progress.

Moreover, the designer Coderland assigned to work directly with us is just like another member of our team. He is always available, and although Coderland is always pending on the project’s progress, we also have enough freedom to handle things directly with the designer. In addition to MS Teams, we use Redmine for project management, which has worked very well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When starting this project, our main issue was that we needed resources we hadn’t been able to find locally. However, when we talked with Coderland, they made a great effort to find very skilled and experienced resources as quickly as possible. In addition to that, the fact that they’re constantly on top of the project to ensure everything is going well is outstanding. They intensively follow up with both the account manager and the project manager.

Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing Coderland could improve on; we’ve had a very good experience working with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ensure to explain your main needs very well. We’ve been very honest with Coderland about our needs regarding the timeline, the number of resources, and the skills required from those resources. Based on that, they were able to offer a solution.
