BACKGROUND

The Music Business Association is a nonprofit membership organization that advances and promotes music commerce. We provide common ground by offering thought leadership, resources, and unparalleled networking opportunities, all geared to the specific needs of our membership. As director of communications, I run all things web, print, and social for the trade association.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

The Music Startup Network is an effort to provide music entrepreneurs and content providers with all the resources they need to create and power profitable legal music companies. The Music Startup Network connects entrepreneurs looking for licensing, marketing, or mentoring relationships for their web, mobile, tablet, or enterprise apps with content players from leading record labels, publishers, performing rights organizations, artist managers, and other rights holders. It also gives content companies an easy way to sort through, organize, and filter the large number of potential partners at their disposal so they can find the ideal match for their needs.

SOLUTION

The CloutSoft team took our vision for this project and our PSD [portable storage device] mockup and made it function.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

The tool has been great and has proven to be beneficial in the marketplace. We are currently beginning version 2 of the project, hoping to it roll it out May 2014.

Please describe your firm.

I am a freelance designer who worked with CloutSoft on behalf of one of my clients. They performed numerous programming tasks for the client who is a mid-size pharmaceutical company.

What is your role and responsibilities?

I am the creative director, responsible for design and brand strategy.

What were your company's business goals for the project?

The client needed a better functioning e-commerce site.

SOLUTION

Can you describe the scope of their work?

They handled many development projects based on my requirements. These projects varied in size from three-day quick things to 10-week major initiatives.

What was your process for selecting CloutSoft Technologies to work with?

We found them on oDesk and decided to hire them because they had very good reviews. They seemed to have the best reviews on the site, and so I hired them. Their past clients all seemed satisfied, so that was convincing.

What parts of the project was CloutSoft Technologies involved with?

They just did development work for the final product.

What was the size of the initiative in dollar terms?

It was about $6,000 for the e-commerce side and several more thousand for the other projects.

When was the project completed?

It was completed in October of 2013.

What were the results of the project?

The client has yet to implement, so I can't comment now.

How did CloutSoft Technologies perform?

They finished the project successfully, on time and on budget. I have no complaints.

Looking back on the project, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?

No. I am 100 percent satisfied.

BACKGROUND

We are in the Real Estate industry. Our goal was to build a website to display our properties and allow clients to easily search and find properties.

The one real challenge was developing a database to work with the regional MLS [multiple listing service]. CloutSoft was able to figure this out and get everything streamlined.

CloutSoft did a great job. They provided everything we needed on schedule, on budget, and continue to maintain our website. It was very easy to communicate with the team overseas. Changes were made in a timely fashion, which made working with them very easy.
