First, I briefed Chakor on the objective of the application, and then their team helped me build the documentation. I gave them user requirements, and they did the app's wireframes and user journey. I also provided some basic UI elements for them to work on, and they added their touch.

Regarding technologies, we're using Bubble to develop the Android and iOS platforms. The project's first phase is complete and has already been deployed to the application stores.

Currently, they maintain the app, fix bugs, and do upgrades.

I've had good app downloads. Also, regarding the application, I've had good ratings and comments from my customers in the last couple of months.

They've met all my deadlines and stayed within the budget. Regarding tools, we use Asana for project management and communicate mostly through Slack, but we also use WhatsApp, Zoom, and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They understand what I'm trying to achieve in terms of the technology and the business side, which is great for me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They can improve their communication. When the developers have trouble, I wish they would tell me or ask for advice instead of trying to work independently.

Communicate with them frequently to ensure they will deliver the project within the agreed timeline and with the features you want.

We needed a company that could help us build mobile apps using Bubble. We were trying to build custom WebView containers to hold our clients' apps and put them on the App Store, but some of our clients have custom code, so we can't use the standard services that exist for Bubble. We needed an agency that understood Bubble and the coding language for Xcode and Android.

We hired Chakor to build a WebView native app that would allow us to run the web app on native devices, Android, and iOS. We needed the app to have custom code to allow users to share links from anywhere in the app. The app would then translate that link into something Bubble could understand and store.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The deliverables were quite simple, so the measure of the success of the project was whether the functionalities and the specification sheet were fully working and bug-free. Chakor was able to deliver the functionality exactly how the client asked for, which made this project a success.

How did Chakor perform from a project management standpoint?

Chakor performed well in terms of project management. They created a specific channel for each project we did. They were quick to reply and provide updates throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with Chakor’s resourcefulness and out-of-the-box approach. They were regularly going to StackOverflow or resources on the Internet to read guides and tutorials and try to research unique solutions to our problems themselves.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their internet connection speed was a bit slow when we first started working together, which affected our online meetings a bit. They’ve since upgraded their internet connection.

Try to communicate openly with them, push them to be imaginative, and give them the freedom to do research and come up with their own solutions.

Some of the core features they incorporated are a Google geo-location functionality, Stripe payment integration, a shift creation process, and an internal messaging system.

I hired Chakor to develop our platform, which is a directory of income opportunities. 

My company is trying to solve the issue of unemployment. We believe that many new kinds of jobs are being created in the digital era. I gather different companies’ information, details, and any platforms that would allow users to earn income. I put them all under the Thekedua.com platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chakor rebuilt our app from scratch. We had previously engaged another freelancer to develop the app, but it took that person quite a while, and he eventually abandoned the project.

All the ideas, designs, and concepts came from me, and Chakor focused on handling the app's development.

We already had a database of around 9,000 users. Chakor redesigned the architecture of the database and uploaded all these existing 9,000 users from the old app to the new app.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app is high quality, and the technology is great — we haven't found any bugs.

In terms of the core features, the frontend has a simple design in which the user can scroll all the site income opportunities. When they click on any job opportunities, they are directed to an external page.

We also have an in-app advertisement feature to gain additional revenue from other advertisers.

Chakor also built a user verification functionality where people can insert any emails or mobile numbers to verify them.

How did Chakor perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was great; they completed all the app's key functionalities within 12 days, way ahead of the deadline. For the remaining days, we only focused on the cosmetic part of the app.

For communication, we used Airtable to manage our requests, the project's status, timelines, and features of each element of the app. We also used Slack and Zoom calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their professionalism and competitiveness in terms of pricing are outstanding. They also overdeliver on whatever they promise.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I got what I paid for, but maybe they could've another headquarter in Malaysia so that I can have in-person meetings with them.

Know what you want upfront to help speed up the process. Also, be clear with how much you are willing to spend.

Chakor’s communication is amazing. Their updates are prompt, and they understand all instructions. The team has delivered exactly what we’ve asked for within a very short timeframe. In fact, they’ve delivered ahead of schedule.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Chakor’s communication and how easy it is to collaborate with them are impressive. I’ve previously struggled to communicate my vision with freelancers, and my instructions have been misunderstood or ignored. However, Chakor seems to speak the same language. They instinctively understand what an MVP requires and what I’m looking for, and they execute extremely quickly and accurately. I’m so impressed that I wish I had considered them sooner.

4-6 weeks for the development phase where they deliver a fully functional app based on the agreed upon scope and specifications

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

I had a very disappointing experience with this team. After three months of collaboration, along with the initial payment, it feels like a complete waste of time. They seem to hire fresh graduates in Pakistan with limited experience, likely at a lower hourly rate, and then charge clients significantly higher rates, such as $40 per hour. The junior developer assigned to my project often provided generic updates, which gave the impression of progress, but in reality, it was a lot of wasted time and energy. Overall, I feel that the project was mishandled, and my investment didn’t yield any the results.
