What challenge were you trying to address with Blue Ocean Global Technology?

A bunch of kids created a fake Instagram profile of my nephew. The profile had toxic content, and we asked Instagram to take down the account. However, Instagram was ignoring our requests. We needed help deleting the profile.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I placed an inquiry on Blue Ocean’s website, and I received a detailed and thoughtful response from their team. From there, they communicated with Instagram and found ways to remove the fake content from the internet.

I primarily worked with two people, but I was also in touch with two other teammates.

I spent $7,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September–December 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Blue Ocean kept me apprised of their next move and approaches. They reassured me that we would be successful over time — given what we were going through, that had been really helpful. 

Halfway through the engagement, Blue Ocean suggested reaching out to the parties involved. However, my nephew wasn’t interested in that. Nonetheless, they were able to pivot and find another way. They reacted creatively and with awareness of the situation to come up with another way to accomplish our goals. 

In the end, Blue Ocean was able to get the fake profile successfully taken down. 

How did Blue Ocean Global Technology perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was top-notch. I knew what we were doing all along the process — we discussed what steps we would take and in what order we would go through them. We mostly communicated through emails and phone calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The situation had been very emotional both for myself and my nephew. They empathized with our concerns, and it seemed they genuinely cared about our problems — they didn’t treat it as a purely business issue. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. Everything went exactly as Blue Ocean they explained, and I was pretty satisfied overall.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them as much information to work with as possible. The more details you can provide them, the better they can use their skills to get the job done.

Our family company JAE SAS in Colombia is a real estate holding company where I am one of the managing partners and currently run the family operations.

For what projects/services did your company hire Blue Ocean Global Technology?

We hired Blue Ocean Global Technology to help us create a campaign to raise awareness for our biggest project to date.

We are partnering with a large bank here in Colombia to develop the most expensive commercial real estate project in the area. Its located in Calle 100 #11 in Bogota. We needed to create awareness because we have a lot of office and commercial space to sell before we begin construction in June 2020

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to target large companies and raise awareness of how this project would change the area and its surroundings. We needed to sell 35% of the project to get to a breakeven point. This is because we own the land ourselves.

How did you select this vendor?

Blue Ocean Global Technology was recommended by a very close family friend in Gabriel Bojanini. He introduced me to Sameer Somal and we have developed a close friendship since. It was a very easy decision when we discussed how it was going to be done a few years back. Sameer's reputation was the main reason we decided to go ahead and work with BOGT.

Describe the project in detail.

We decided to gather info from the surrounding companies and businesses. We decided to explore for the first time in our family company a digital strategy for the pre-sale of one of our projects.

It started with some articles about potential projects in the area and then with pictures being advertised to show the rendering images of what the project would look like. BOGT helped us organize and grow our list of buyers to start email marketing as well as SEO/SEM.

What was the team composition?

Our team worked directly with Sameer Somal and his team. I was leading the effort from our offices here in Colombia. The BOGT team was very clear and easy to communicate with us. Gabriel Bojanini also helped as he knows our business dynamic and Blue Ocean Global Technology. Things are going great and we will begin construction in June 2020.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

in June 2020 we will begin construction and we are more than 60% sold already!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Seamless, it was truly a pleasure to work directly with Mr. Sameer Somal and do something we had not done before. Understanding the digital world is not easy and having a strategic partner like BOGT was definitely a blessing for us.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The effort Mr. Sameer Somal has put into this project himself. We appreciate him going the extra mile for us in any way that he can. This type of work is new to us and having someone we trust walking us through the entire process has been great. I think its good people that bridge technology with industries that are more old school if you will.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Reports could have been a little easier to digest but overall we understand that there are a lot of metrics. Overall any time we had an inconvenience it was resolved very quickly. BOGT's team is very proactive.

I’m the president of the US-Asia Institute. We’re a small nonprofit that fosters better relations between the United States and Asian countries through events like conferences and exchanges.

We needed to improve the design of our website and update it for mobile compatibility.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our existing site had been patched together by student interns over the years, so we decided to rebuild the whole thing from scratch. Blue Ocean Global Technology’s team sat down with us to discuss our goals for the project and provide options for how we could structure the new site. One of the most exciting features they added was a donate button on the landing page. They also added a rotating slideshow and showed us how to adjust it or make corrections ourselves. Aside from that, they also answered our hosting questions and made sure we felt comfortable performing our own edits with WordPress.

We worked with their CEO, CFO, and a developer team.

They approached us back in 2014 and wanted to learn about our work. We met with them several times to discuss how we could work together. During this process, we also researched other companies that delivered similar services, but we ultimately decided to move forward with them because of the personal relationship we’d created.

We ended up spending just under $25,000. I believe we had a discount because we’re a nonprofit.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from December 2015–January 2016.

We’ve received a lot of positive feedback from users who like the changes to the site. It’s much more user-friendly and easy to navigate.

How did Blue Ocean Global Technology perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very patient in explaining things to us since we’re not tech-savvy people. They did a thorough job even though we mostly communicated by email. The management team communicated well with us and were on top of things throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really appreciated the personal touch they incorporated into the work. They were focused on ensuring that we got what we wanted throughout every step of the process. Even now, two years later, they still check in and ask if there’s anything we need. Having that kind of dedicated concern has meant a lot to us because we’ve been burned by other developers in the past.

Not that I can think of. They were encouraging and responsive throughout our whole partnership.

In the past, I’ve built my own websites, but they were very basic. I needed a new site that was more high-end to keep up with my growth, so I wanted to work with a company that could provide both web development and digital marketing options.

What was the scope of their involvement?

My content and my pictures were all rather scattered. They organized the content and brought everything together. With their help, we made informed decisions on how to market my glass products and demonstrate my services online. Technology is not my area of expertise, and they’ve really supported me through the construction of my new site.

Our main point of contact is their chief marketing officer. I work with a few other people on their side, but mostly with their CMO and her technical team.

I found them on social media. There were a few mentions of them there and on LinkedIn, so I reached out to them and got a quote. They reviewed my current site, made suggestions, and my business partners and I decided to move forward with them.

We’ve spent about $16,000 and are getting ready to hand over the final payment.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our initial contact was in April or May 2018, and we had a contract within a couple of months. The launch date for the new site is December 1, 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I haven’t launched the new site yet, so we don’t have any hard statistics yet. After we launch, I plan to move to a monthly maintenance contract with them for upkeep and SEO. With their help, I will be able to focus more on my company and my team, knowing that the technology is in good hands.

How did Blue Ocean Global Technology perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re excellent, and I’ve learned an incredible amount from them. Anytime I contact them, through phone, email, or WhatsApp, they respond within the day. They organize my content in a way that is both easy to navigate and conceptionally cohesive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

For several years, I built websites for myself because I was worried that I would have a bad experience with web developers. Everything they’ve accomplished and everything in their portfolio is so solid. They answer my questions right away and give me everything I need. The site is really clear and easy to use.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything; they’ve really raised the bar for me. Any time there was an issue with content or the size of images, they handled it immediately. I have no complaints.

I’m the CEO of my own consulting practice called Henebry Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Consulting LLC. Drawing from a wealth management background, I give presentations to large business groups and educate people about blockchain technology and cryptocurrency. I needed a professional website to promote my business but lacked the time to do it myself. As a result, I looked for a trusted agency to outsource the development along with some social media work.

What was the scope of their involvement?

There are a lot of steps involved in creating a site, but Blue Ocean Global Technology had a good grasp on the whole process. They used my framework to build the site, going back and forth with me on the messaging, content, and SEO. They also helped me set up a GoDaddy login to buy and register my domain.

To grow my social ecosystem, they helped me set up my social media presence and linked my accounts back to my webpage. The team established both my YouTube and Twitter handles, which involved uploading content, editing photographs, and ensuring that everything was presentable. In the end, they gave me a set of tutorials on how to update my social media myself and now provide ongoing support.

I mostly worked with Rachita (CMO, Blue Ocean Global Technology) but also interacted with Sameer (Co-Founder, Blue Ocean Global Technology).

While working at my previous firm, our financial planner introduced us to Sameer. As it turns out, we were both CFA Charterholders and shared a similar background. I knew that he did advisory work and also worked with technology, so I looked at some of his websites. The work lasted from April–June 2018, but they still support us as needed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s crucial for a consulting practice working within technology to have a landing page because people would be skeptical otherwise. Now, visitors comment on my online presence and note how helpful my site is.

If we have any technical issues, Blue Ocean Global Technology is quick to respond. For example, a user emailed me about a potential phishing scheme on my site’s form. The team assessed the situation and determined that the issue was on the user’s side. In another instance, Google featured a snippet about my practice, but the description was incorrect. They were able to go in and fix the issue, which was something I couldn’t have done myself.

How did Blue Ocean Global Technology perform from a project management standpoint?

Rachita was friendly, extremely responsive, and easy to work with. Despite the time differences and my traveling schedule, she would always get back to my inquiries within 24 hours. We typically communicated through WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Sameer is a talented individual with a wealth of resources. Not only has he personally introduced me to a few leads, but he’s also a guru in the brand management space. He understands SEO and knows how to position us to secure the best online presence. Sameer also has proven social media expertise; his LinkedIn profile alone boasts an impressive number of followers, and he posts regularly. Rather than just building sites, Sameer and his team have an in-depth understanding of their field; there’s a lot of value there.
