What was the scope of their involvement?

We went through some significant feature developments with Base Blocks tech over 3–6 months. We brought them on specifically to do backend development, and their team reported to our lead developer. They worked with Node.js and JavaScript; we didn’t use a CMS platform.

What is the team composition?

We worked with the founder and another backend developer.

How did you come to work with Base Blocks tech?

We found them through Upwork. We did some random skill-based tests, and they passed them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from October 2020–April 2021.

We started working with them in May 2021, and our collaboration is still ongoing.

We worked with Base Blocks on various smaller projects in the past. They have been always very reasonable with their cost and time estimations.

Base Blocks were involved from the early design stages and built the module from scratch. They presented various solutions and we selected together the technology stack to be used. The project had its own API built with Spring Framework, Kafka streams, encryption, audit logging and a robust error handling, leveraging AWS infrastructure.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had 2 full time developers. At some point we had up to 4 team members.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The module developed is processing millions of records daily.

Requirements were discussed in advance and the deadlines we set, were met on time. We had a weekly meeting to monitor the progress of the project over Google Meet. For clarifications we usually used Skype/Slack.
