I’m a lead R&D engineer for High Strain Dynamics, but I also work as a freelancer.

What challenge were you trying to address with Basal Brain Infotech Pvt. Ltd.?

I went to them for web development. I’m a mechanical and product design engineer, and I wanted to portray my work through a site.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Basal Brain designed and developed my personal portfolio website on WordPress. Now, they host the site.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Shandilya (Managing Director) and his wife, who’s the director of graphic design. They reported that there were six people in total working on the project.

How did you come to work with Basal Brain Infotech Pvt. Ltd.?

I got to them through a local reference in India. I asked them about web hosting, and I didn’t know whether I should go for paid development or not, but Basal Brain gave me a good deal, so I gave them the whole project.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent $5,800.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with Basal Brain around April 2020. They finished the work by July, and the website went live in August 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I like their creativity and selection of colors. All images are in the proper aspect ratios and positioned properly on the pages. If I didn’t like something and it was a small fix, they did it without charging me for additional hours.

Basal Brain took responsibility, and there was nothing negative about the project except for the cost of the domain name.

The site they made communicates exactly what I wanted it to, and it does it efficiently. It allows me to market myself better.

How did Basal Brain Infotech Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

They were communicative and responded on time. There were no delays in responding to my questions, and there was no shortage of commitment from Basal Brain. The communication wasn’t excellent, but it was above average. I’d rate them seven out of ten in this respect.

We communicated through email, which I prefer because it provides a written record. They called me through WhatsApp if they didn’t understand something in the requirements.

They gave me a projection at the start of the project of how much work would be done by the end of each month. They gave me an estimate of four months, and the website was live in three. Basal Brain was consistent with what they promised.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They didn’t charge me for the work I didn’t like. They communicated professionally and delivered on time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was an issue with pages not loading or getting jumbled during the first week or two, but Basal Brain fixed it without charging me. Aside from minor technical problems, it was all good.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

They should be very clear on what they want and not go to Basal Brain with a vague request. Being specific will reduce the amount of time needed to discuss the project.

It took me some time to describe the project because my way of describing things wasn’t exactly technical. Shandilya was very good at getting my requirements, and I would suggest contacting him rather than going through an associate.
