Most of our work falls into one of four categories: full operational platforms that replace spreadsheets and disconnected tools, internal tools for specific teams or workflows, client and supplier portals, and integrations between systems that were never designed to talk to each other. We work best with operations-heavy industries like construction, logistics, government, real estate, retail, healthcare, and facilities management. We do not build template websites, configure off-the-shelf SaaS, or take on short-term staff augmentation. If spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups hold your team together, we are probably the right fit.

Every BY BANKS engagement starts with a paid discovery phase. This is the most important part of any custom software project and the phase most agencies skip or rush, which is why so many builds go wrong. Discovery typically runs over two to three weeks and is delivered in four structured stages: 1. Preparation and document review - you share existing systems, data, and documentation upfront. We start reverse engineering the current state before we set foot on site. 2. Stakeholder interviews and systems audit - we sit down with the people who will actually use the platform. Sessions are recorded with consent so we can capture every detail and build a complete picture of how your operations really work. 3. Technical feasibility and architecture - we test what is possible with your existing data, assess integration points, identify pitfalls, and map the technical reality of the build. 4. Recommendations and refined prototype - we deliver a detailed report covering the current state, ranked inefficiencies, technical feasibility, and a clear roadmap. Where relevant, this includes a refined clickable prototype showing exactly what the platform will look like with your real data. The output is a fixed-scope, fixed-price proposal for the build phase that both sides can sign with confidence. No vague estimates, no hidden assumptions, no surprises three months in. Discovery pays for itself many times over by preventing the wrong build.

Once discovery is complete and the scope is agreed, we move into delivery through a partnership retainer. This is how BY BANKS handles every build phase. Instead of charging by the hour or quoting a single fixed price for the whole build, we embed a senior team into your business for a set number of months - typically between three and twelve, depending on the size of the project. You pay one flat monthly fee. That fee covers everything: the core build, additional projects that come up along the way, planning, strategy, refinement, and direct access to the senior team delivering the work. No ticket systems, no account managers in the middle, no scope disputes. We use this model for three reasons. 1. Custom software always uncovers new requirements once real users start interacting with it. Fixed quotes either pad the price by forty to fifty percent to cover unknowns or end in scope disputes six months in. The retainer absorbs change without renegotiation. 2. Embedded senior talent works faster and produces better software than transactional vendor relationships. The same people who scope your project are the ones who build it, and they stay with you through the entire delivery period. 3. It is significantly cheaper than hiring. Two senior developers in-house, with the right mix of architecture, frontend, backend, and project management skills, would cost more than a BY BANKS retainer before you factor in visas, benefits, equipment, recruitment, and management overhead. When the engagement ends, you are not carrying permanent headcount for a build phase that is finished.

Every BY BANKS project is priced in two parts: a fixed-price discovery phase, followed by a monthly retainer for the build phase. Discovery typically ranges from $10,000 to $15,000 and runs over two to three weeks. This produces a detailed scope, a refined prototype, and a clear proposal for the build phase. You only commit to the build once discovery is complete and you have full visibility on what you are getting. Build phase retainers vary depending on the complexity of the platform and the team size required, but most BY BANKS engagements run between three and twelve months at a flat monthly rate. Smaller engagements typically start from $10,000 per month. Larger, multi-team platforms run higher and longer. We never quote a build phase before discovery is complete. Custom software pricing depends entirely on what the software actually needs to do, and any agency that gives you a fixed price for a complex platform before understanding the brief in detail is guessing. We would rather take the time to get it right.
