BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder and director of VCS Industries, Ltd., which is the leading company in the VCS Group, for which I am also the founder. We have other constituent companies such as VCS Events and VCS Films, while Connplex Smart Miniplex is a brand under VCS Industries. 

VCS means Vibrant Concepts Studio, and we operate mostly in the entertainment segment, specifically in the marketing, promotion, and distribution of films. We have a chain of theaters in India.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with AviSoftonic?

Cinema is an unorganized industry in India. We required an online presence for Connplex Smart Miniplex, along with making integrations on the web portal. There were many technicalities that we required on our software, and we needed to build a CRM, so we hired AviSoftonic.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, AviSoftonic asked us a lot of questions about our business, what colors and fonts we would like, and what kinds of infographics we want to use. There are many CRMs on the market, but we had custom requirements, so they developed a website and CRM from scratch. 

We receive leads through the website, social media pages, references, newspapers, radio, and other channels. We also get direct entries into the CRM from social media campaigns. Our site is linked to our Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages and has features for calling and sending SMS, WhatsApp messages, and emails to customers. 

The team is now taking care of all our technical requirements, like making modifications on a daily basis on the site. They are also creating banners for the Google Ads campaigns, while we collect analytics through a database.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with 4–5 people from AviSoftonic, including Avinash (Director).

How did you come to work with AviSoftonic?

We had worked with another company before AviSoftonic, but they couldn’t deliver. Their owner then referred me to AviSoftonic who could continue the project.

How much have you invested with them?

The initial development cost was 50,000–100,000 rupees (approximately $700–$1,500 USD). The yearly contract is for around 28,000 rupees (approximately $4,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We’re working with a few providers for different requirements within our group, so I’m not sure about the start date. I believe we started working with AviSoftonic in Q2 of 2018, possibly around April. The partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re very satisfied with AviSoftonic. They take care of everything we need and we’re getting a lot of business through the website.

How did AviSoftonic perform from a project management standpoint?

They stick to the deadlines. If they say that a project will take 25 days, they deliver within that time. The team does their homework before starting a project.

We typically communicate over the phone and through email, and we have a WhatsApp group. We’re using Trello for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to guide us on what to do and what not to do is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Everybody can always improve. AviSoftonic isn’t a perfect company, but neither is mine.

They need to hire a good content writer. We provided the content for our website, but we would’ve liked this service from AviSoftonic.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Clients should be prepared to answer AviSoftonic’s questions before starting the project.=
