OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What specific goals or objectives did you hire Aqsa Shahzad Official LLC to accomplish?
- Implement site-wide Shopify theme and Liquid updates to support our subscription program (PDP toggle, selling plan attachment across lash 4-packs) and ongoing PDP optimizations across the existing lash catalog.
- Serve as our on-call technical execution partner for navigation, collections, AI imagery placement, and pre-launch QA, so our team (Deborah, Arit, me) can focus on strategy and copy while the build side runs reliably.
- Aqsa has been my Shopify Build Partner: PDPs, theme code, site updates, launch implementation.
- Launch new product PDPs (Sorrel, upcoming Half-Lash Fern + Ivy) on Shopify, building out product pages that mirror our existing brand structure, with SEO setup, variant logic, cross-sells, and FAQ modules ready by each launch date.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
New product launch builds. Full Shopify PDP development for new lash launches (Sorrel in January 2026, Half-Lash Fern + Ivy in summer 2026). Each launch includes building the product detail pages to match our existing PDP structure, configuring variant logic, setting up SEO (page titles, meta descriptions, URL handles), implementing cross-sell modules, and integrating FAQ sections. AI imagery placement and specs. Receiving finished AI-generated imagery from our team and placing it across PDP galleries, homepage heroes, collection thumbnails, announcement bars, and lifestyle sections — with format and size specifications provided upfront so dimensions are correct on the first pass. PDP optimizations on the existing catalog. Implementing recommended structural and content changes on live product pages (e.g., Jasmine PDP optimization) to improve conversion and align with our evolving brand standards. Shopify theme and Liquid work. Backend technical edits to support our subscription program — including the subscription toggle on PDPs, selling plan attachment across lash 4-packs (Poppy, Dahlia, Violet, Sorrel), and ensuring auto-surfacing of subscription options across the catalog. Site navigation and collections. Adding new products to the Shop All dropdown, confirming nav structure for new launches, and updating collection assignments as the catalog evolves. Pre-launch QA. Final quality assurance passes before each launch goes live — verifying links, variant selection, mobile layouts, image rendering, and cross-sell logic. Key deliverables: Fully built and launch-ready Shopify PDPs for each new product (Sorrel, Fern, Ivy) Optimized existing PDPs based on provided mockups and briefs (Jasmine) Functional subscription infrastructure across all eligible products SEO-configured pages (titles, meta descriptions, URL handles) for every new product Per-task completion checklists confirming done-ness before sign-off Reliable, on-call technical support for ad-hoc theme edits, navigation changes, and site updates as needs arise
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Successful on-time launch of the Sorrel PDP in January 2026, delivered as a fully built product page with SEO configuration, variant logic, cross-sells, and lifestyle imagery — now serving as the internal template for all subsequent lash launches. Established a repeatable launch playbook (7-task structure: AI imagery, PDP build, SEO, cross-sells, FAQ, navigation, pre-launch QA) that has reduced launch prep time for our team and is being reused for the upcoming Half-Lash (Fern + Ivy) launch. Completed Shopify theme and Liquid implementation for our subscription program, enabling the "Routine on Autopilot" Subscribe & Save offering across our top-performing lash 4-packs (Poppy, Dahlia, Violet, Sorrel) — the foundation for our Phase 3 subscription growth initiative. Delivered PDP optimizations on existing high-traffic product pages (e.g., Jasmine — our broader bestseller catalog) based on conversion-focused recommendations, supporting our ongoing email redesign goal of moving CTR from 0.4% baseline toward the 1.5–2.0% target. Met every launch milestone on or ahead of schedule, with per-task completion checklists confirming done-ness before each sign-off — keeping our internal team (Faith, Deborah, Arit) unblocked.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Aqsa's project management has been a major strength of this engagement. She works asynchronously from detailed written briefs (we use a consistent 7-task structure: AI imagery, PDP build, SEO, cross-sells, FAQ, navigation, pre-launch QA), and delivers against per-task checklists that confirm done-ness before sign-off, which means I rarely have to chase status or guess where things stand. She has consistently met launch deadlines for every product drop, including the Sorrel launch in January 2026, and is currently on track for the upcoming Half-Lash (Fern + Ivy) launch. When mid-project adjustments come up, such as variant logic changes, new image specs, or last-minute copy swaps, she absorbs them without disrupting the timeline. Communication is responsive and low-friction. She flags issues early (image dimensions, theme conflicts, missing assets) rather than letting them surface at QA, and she's proactive about confirming scope before building rather than guessing. When our team shifted ownership of AI image generation in-house for the Half-Lash launch, she adapted the workflow cleanly and continues to handle placement and specs on her end. She also serves as an on-call technical backstop for ad-hoc Shopify theme and Liquid work outside of formal launches, including small site updates, navigation tweaks, and subscription toggle troubleshooting. That has been valuable for keeping the site healthy between major releases without needing to spin up a new engagement each time.
What was your primary form of communication with Aqsa Shahzad Official LLC?
- Virtual Meeting
- Email or Messaging App
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What stands out most about Aqsa is her ability to operate like an embedded team member rather than a transactional vendor. She has internalized how CocoLash works as a brand, from our PDP structure and voice to our visual conventions and launch cadence, which means I can hand her a brief and trust that the output will feel native to our site instead of bolted on. She is also unusually self-directed for a developer. Most Shopify contractors need either heavy hand-holding or strict ticket queues to function, but Aqsa works cleanly off written briefs, follows the per-task checklist structure we use, and surfaces questions early rather than building toward the wrong outcome. That combination of independence and judgment is rare, and it has compounded over time. Each launch is faster and smoother than the last because she already understands the system she is building inside of. Finally, she is genuinely flexible about scope evolution. When we shifted AI image generation in-house, when subscription logic added new variant complexity, when we layered PDP optimization work onto an existing engagement, she absorbed each shift without friction or repricing drama. She treats the relationship as a long-term partnership, which is exactly what a small brand like ours needs from a technical partner.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Aqsa Shahzad Official LLC could have done differently?
Honestly, I do not have meaningful constructive feedback to offer. The engagement has run smoothly from intake through launch, communication has been responsive, and deliverables have consistently met the brief. If anything came up, it has been resolved in-flight without me needing to escalate. I would happily continue working with Aqsa as-is.
