I'm the Chief Operating Officer of a beauty and fashion e-commerce company. We are a marketplaces which specializes selling beauty, fashion and lifestyle products.

Since COVID-19 hit, our customer base grew massively with which neither we were equipped to handle, nor was the website experience. Therein we hired AlphaVenture LLC to revamp our Shopify store with an overhaul of the UI/UX and optimized customer journey and order tracking experience.

We also needed an OMS that integrated with the store and had the capability of shipping the massive volume of orders without any delays. Our goal was to provide a seamless order tracking and communication experience with a direct impact on our NPS scores.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They were recommended to us by one of our investors.

We started by giving them a small problem to solve and once we were convinced about their capabilities we scoped out a year long plan and project roadmap with key milestones in between. Key Deliverables included the following:

1. Revamp of entire Shopify UI/UX
2. A new order tracking and communications system
3. Integration of Odoo (ERP) with Shopify store which also served as an OMS
4. A unified data platform for Business Analytics and intelligence
5. Integration of Virtual Try-On interface (Modiface)
6. Ad recommendation engine for better ROI
7. Courier Management System
8. Influencer Affiliate System Key technologies and languages used were ruby on rails, php, python and elastic search

There were a total of 4 people who worked with us which included a software architect, UI/UX designer, project manager and 2 developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

As a direct result of these metrics, our customer satisfaction increased with a significant improvement in fulfilment capacity and better ROI:

1. 115% improvement in NPS scores from 19 to 41
2. 300% increase in shipment dispatch capability
3. 2x increase in ROAS and 42% decrease in customer churn rate

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Due to the extensive nature of the project, our dedicated project manager used to sit with our teams in our office with most of the communication done on Monday.com with key deliverables and closure of projects handed over in face to face meetings. We also used to have regular connects where needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Considering the size of our business, they were able to give out of the box solutions to very complex problems. They were also very courteous and focused a lot on relationship building which is a very rare trait nowadays.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Initially there were a couple of things that weren't executed as per requirement as we wanted things quickly. Perhaps they could have taken a step back to scope everything which was later fixed with very close collaboration with the Project manager.

The co-founders are extremely humble. They listened to my problems and demands with patience and good intent. They were super fast in their deliverables. They also consulted me in many areas outside their domain due to extensive knowledge across multiple industries. Above all, they are wonderful people to work with, and they take ownership of the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something AlphaVenture LLC could have done differently?

One of the initial problems I was faced with was limited staff. But during my project they had managed to source good talent which quickly resolved that problem too.
