I’m a secretary at a university foundation for a teacher training institution, which owns and manages the entire school property.

What challenge were you trying to address with Akuton Solutions?

We were trying to expand the reach of our foundation and let the wider public know about us, what we do, and how we support education. With this goal in mind, we hired Akuton Solutions to develop a website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Akuton Solutions is developing a web application for us. The app contains a complete historical background of our foundation and the scope of our past and present activities, and it also allows for alumni contributions. The team has been able to organize all that information within the web app to expose it to the public. 

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with at least three people from Akuton Solutions: one primary contact and two other teammates.

How did you come to work with Akuton Solutions?

I was looking for a company that would be able to supply the needs we were looking for at the time. After checking Akuton Solutions’ previous work, we felt that we could work with them based on their knowledge and the cost they quoted. 

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve invested around $8,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Akuton Solutions’ deliverables have worked well. The website satisfies our requirements and allows us to get better publicity. They’ve made sure the web app is well-synchronized and works without difficulties.

How did Akuton Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re good at project management. There have been many times when they’re the ones to initiate a call, and we sometimes can’t attend from our side. Still, the team has insisted that we push ahead for them to complete their work. We use phone calls and WhatsApp to communicate. Whenever I ask them to meet for feedback or look at possible improvements, they’re always willing to do that. 

The project has taken longer than expected because we’ve been engaged with many other things. This delay has nothing to do with Akuton Solutions; instead, it’s due to our tardiness in responding to them. We don’t mind the timeline extension because we’re not in a rush, and it has given the team a better understanding of our organization.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I find Akuton Solutions’ commitment impressive. Additionally, their understanding of what we want and their willingness to make changes when necessary are outstanding. They’ve been very supportive on a person-to-person basis.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t see anything they need to improve. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would suggest that you respond to Akuton Solutions’ calls and requests for them to improve and support your site. In our case, they’ve been quite good at responding to our requests. Work closely with them, and they will provide the service you require.

I’m an infrastructure manager for the IT department of a food and beverage company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Akuton Solutions?

We engaged Akuton Solutions to help integrate our sales data system into our accounting package. Our goal was for the system to provide our accounting team with real-time data so they could make real-time decisions.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we provided Akuton Solutions with guidelines based on our director’s needs for the system. They’ve created a concept for how the application will work and a plan to integrate it with our other systems. We’ve also collaborated to create a framework, and we’re approaching the implementation phase. Additionally, the team has developed concepts for other systems to give us more flexibility to use our data differently.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Akuton Solutions in February 2022, and the project is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since the project is ongoing, we can’t speak to concrete metrics. However, we orchestrated a trial run with the concept that Akuton Solutions created and found that the system significantly increased our efficiency with accounting tasks. Tasks that typically took two days for our accounting team to complete took two minutes. 

We anticipate that the tool will help cut down our backlog and increase our efficiency when collecting new information, which will give our team more time to properly analyze our data. 

How did Akuton Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Working with Akuton Solutions has been great; they really know what they’re doing. We’ve faced internal issues that have delayed our progress, but they’ve delivered everything on time. The team is very knowledgeable and knows how to design effective, responsive systems. Whenever we share our feedback, they implement it immediately. 

They’re also very responsive; they review our suggestions carefully and make valuable recommendations for alternative solutions when needed. We mainly communicate via email and Google Meet. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been most impressed with Akuton Solutions’ expertise in architecture and data. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I haven’t seen anything Akuton Solutions should improve on yet; they’re very effective. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend gathering all the information you need ahead of time, so the Akuton Solutions team can work on your project efficiently and ensure they don’t miss anything.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the laboratory supervisor at Cytolabs Associates where we manage the handling and processing of patient samples for diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Akuton Solutions, and what were your goals?

We needed a systemize way of organizing, handling and storing patient data informatics. A laboratory information system that handles, stores and maps the diagnostic and therapeutic processes of our cytology lab. Therefore, we hired Akuton Solutions to develop and a software to cover the important documentation and tracking of patient records and information.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They were selected through a referral and upon a consultation with their team lead, discussing our concerns and whether they can fulfill them, we made the decision to work with Akuton Solutions.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were 2 core team members on the project, to include the Lead project manager and Lead software developer. Based on project requirements, additional support was added.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project management was great, especially in terms of communication, whether via quick calls, consults or meeting regularly scheduled or pop-ups. A 2 week sprint was establish to meet software goals, and to keep track on the these tasks for us to follow along, weekly update emails were provided.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their attentiveness in communication and their intuition. Once understanding what was important for the software, they delivered what we asked for and even added features they knew would have been a benefit to us without even asking.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

While they delivered on what was required, they could improve in their documentation efforts.
