Mason Atlantic, Ltd. is a logistics business. We have an app, and we handle deliveries within the city.

What challenge were you trying to address with ahyoxsoft?

We needed help developing both our web and mobile platforms.

What was the scope of their involvement?

ahyoxsoft is developing or web and mobile platforms. We held a kickoff meeting with them to describe what we wanted. We had another contractor for the frontend and UI/UX design, and ahyoxsoft did all the backend work. Most of the backend is Java-based. The Android app uses Firebase, we’re using Twilio for OTP verification, and we have a MailChimp integration.

Deliveries can be tracked end to end through our apps. We have mobile apps for both riders and users respectively, and a web app for partners.

We also have partnerships with logistics businesses around town, and ahyoxsoft has come up with designs to cater to their security. For proper accountability, every payment is made through bank cards. ahyoxsoft also developed a wallet for us, where clients can deposit funds to use for future shipments.

ahyoxsoft came up with the idea of having the partners be the ones to onboard each rider. The riders don’t sign up on the app; they just sign in using the phone numbers given to us by the partners.

There’s a tracking code generated for each shipment, and anyone with the code can use it to track it in real-time. The partner gets to see each of the amounts generated by each rider. ahyoxsoft also designed a dashboard for us to make payments through an API.

What is the team composition?

We’ve interacted only with Ayodeji (Freelance Software Engineer). I believe he has a team working for him but I don't interact with them. He’s always there to address our concerns.

How did you come to work with ahyoxsoft?

I met Ayodeji on another project years ago. We gave him an idea of what we were trying to do in this case, and it was easy from thereon.

How much have you invested with them?

We have invested between $5,000–$10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with ahyoxsoft in May 2020, and we launched the app five weeks ago. We have an ongoing maintenance agreement.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything’s working well so far. We've had a few bugs, but just minor things and everything was fixed quickly. The apps have been quite stable from the beginning. The quality of work is very good.

I would recommend ahyoxsoft to other Nigerian companies. They’re easy to reach, and they’re fast. We had an issue with the Android app yesterday, and they fixed it in no time.

How did ahyoxsoft perform from a project management standpoint?

I rate them 8/10. It wasn’t perfect, but they managed it really well. We use Slack and Asana to collaborate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very transparent, they have integrity, and they’re passionate about the work. The teamwork was very good as well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have faster response times.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

ahyoxsoft is one of the best providers on the market right now, as far as software development is concerned. If the client is able to do proper research, ahyoxsoft will get the job done.

I work for the Liberia Revenue Authority, a government agency responsible for collecting domestic revenue. I’m the manager of the business system development section and the project manager of external and internal development projects.

What challenge were you trying to address with ahyoxsoft?

We had a lot of paper-based operations and duplicate processes running concurrently. When I took over my current position, I was given the task of digitizing most of the authority’s operations.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

ahyoxsoft helped us do USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) filing and document generation. They built an application that helps us generate document numbers for USSD telco payments.

Much of ahyoxsoft’s work involved custom development. The USSD application was purely Java-based, while the document generation solution used Spring Boot and Bootstrap. It connected to an Oracle database indirectly through a web service or API.

 What is the team composition?

Ayodeji (Freelance Software Engineer, ahyoxsoft) was the main developer. We also worked with another person there for support in case we experienced any issues.

 How did you come to work with ahyoxsoft?

We found them through an internet search. They have a good reputation in Africa.

 How much have you invested with them?

We spent $40,000–$45,000 on the USSD project.

 What is the status of this engagement?

They worked on the USSD project from May-August 2019. I believe the document generation project started in October. This project has been launched, but we’re trying to see if we can involve them in other digitization projects.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They achieved all of the milestones and objectives we set within the specified time. Everything was okay. They delivered what they had to deliver.

How did ahyoxsoft perform from a project management standpoint?

I was the project manager, so I tracked their progress. When ahyoxsoft says they can deliver a project in three months, they mean it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They always do their best. They’re unique from a technical standpoint. They have the right expertise and support resources available at any time.

Since they’re pushing for expansion, they’re always ready whenever we need support.  They’re approachable. We can get a hold of them at any time; I can get in touch with Ayodeji past midnight.

 Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d have to give them more work. They made a good first impression.

 Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should check them out and see what they have to offer. They’ve built a personal relationship with us, and clients looking to engage them should try and do the same.

They should also be focused on their project. If there’s a delay from the other party, it can delay the entire project. In our case, we knew what we wanted. We were pushing for digitization because we wanted the government to see our operations.

For what projects/services did your company hire ahyoxsoft?

As a startup, we were faced with various challenges; however, the most pressing challenge was due to our lack of online presence. We know if we want to get our services known, it's best to maximize technology. During our team meeting, we concluded that we should have a website for our startup. Having a website will be convenient for our clients and leads.

What were your goals for this project?

Our website has to be user-friendly (simple but classic design) and accessible to get visitors to learn, engage and get involved. Increase social mentions, showcase our services, build our brand and promote our business globally.

How did you select this vendor?

We searched google for IT companies around us. Ahyoxsoft and other IT companies surfaced. We contacted 6 various companies including Ahyoxsoft. But we had to go for Ahyoxsoft because their customer care team were superb, the break down of the project was marvellous and their price was reasonable enough. Also, their level of expertise in web development surpasses all other options we had from other companies.

They gathered information from us to have a clear understanding of our business purpose, vision, goal, and target audience. The questionnaire was used to develop the best strategy for our project. Then they gave us a demo (sitemap, wireframe, and layout) of how our website will look like. They also gave us a timeline and I was impressed that the web development was launched within the time frame. I have heard many IT companies are always behind schedule, but not Ahyoxsoft. They delivered right on time as agreed.

Ahyoxsoft appointed a project manager, who was our direct contact for the duration of the project. We worked closely with the project manager and his team members. The team consisted of 4 people, who are dedicated, attentive, talented and also have a good sense of humour. It was fun working with Ahyoxsoft team.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The launching of our website was a major accomplishment for our startup. After the launching of our website, we have had amazing online exposure which has empowered us as a startup to reach out to more people, increase revenue, and we have also been recognized globally for our work focused on achieving gender equality (SDG 5). How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Ahyoxsoft project management was very effective. Their strategy is so productive. I'm impressed with their level of organization, and effective communication. They were 100% committed to our satisfaction. We had easy access to communicate with the team via Skype, emails, phone call and one-on-one meetings. We had 24/7 support service.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their work ethics and attitude is gold. They completed our project within schedule. They exceeded our expectations and delivered amazingly.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There's none that I can think of. As far as I was concerned, they were well organized and did a great job.

I’m the CEO of African Business Radio. We do content in a digital space and have a podcast network we manage.

We wanted to upgrade our platform and build a CMS.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started with the website. We had to migrate the old data into a temporary landing page while we tasked them with building the CMS from scratch. They based the CMS on our documentation. After launching and upgrading the first version, we did the mobile application. We already had one, but we started from scratch on a new one.

They worked in Java, but we weren’t very interested in specific languages. More so, we wanted to have custom functionality based on things we’d seen on existing platforms. Currently, they’re integrating video into the platform for us.  

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with one person, who’s coordinating the rest of their team. I interacted with the lead developer as well.

How did you come to work with ahyoxsoft?

We’d worked together on a project at my previous company. For that project, we tried to integrate mobile into our platform, so I knew they were familiar with this type of work.

How much have you invested with them?

We budgeted for $20,000 initially, but we’ve only spent $10,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since April 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our audience and listeners come back and commend us on the platform. They don’t just say it looks beautiful either. They like the functionality as well. Being user-friendly is what we wanted.

Every now and then there’s been a glitch, but they’re always available. It doesn’t matter what time of day or night it is. They help us maintain a high level of quality and professionalism with our audience.

How did ahyoxsoft perform from a project management standpoint?

We use WhatsApp to create groups with all the stakeholders. We can drop a message and tag whoever is responsible for a certain task. It works quite well because it lets us go back and look at screenshots and remind people of things.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They figure out how to create what we want. If we think of a feature or see it on another platform, they will make it happen on ours.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’re trying to integrate with a telecom provider in Kenya, but it’s taken a while before we could get to understand the documentation. That drag when a third party is involved is a concern for me.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Establish good discourse and talk to them. It’s easy to send documentation, but it’s much better with communication. Some things just can't be put down effectively in the documentation. We had an issue like that once and were able to hash it out after a conference call.

I work at TIXXI, an augmented reality application that is focused on live events. That includes concerts, festivals, and pop-up events.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with ahyoxsoft?

We’re trying to develop an MVP. We work with a venture capital partner that is allowing us to start some beta tests, so we needed to start working on the application. There is a consumer-facing side of the app and a vendor-facing side. We hired ahyoxsoft to develop the web aspects of our vendor platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built a portal on the website where vendors can log in and upload information such as merchandise, events, and dates. We’ve also created a three-step system that delivers AR templates to vendors. The dashboard allows the management of a popular festival to attach AR experiences to merchandise or e-commerce. Vendors can select templates and activate them at events.

We’ve been primarily working with Ayodeji (Software Engineer, ahyoxsoft).

My business partner found ahyoxsoft. He came to me and said that ahyoxsoft understood analytics and the scope of work. We contacted them, shared some details, and then started working together.

The project started in December 2018 and is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of programming and development was very high. Their insight and expertise were very important. They weren’t just “yes-people”, they offered pushback and challenged our ideas. They iterated our ideas. We’ve seen the evidence of growth from the ideas and strategies they’ve implemented.

How did ahyoxsoft perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been doing a great job; they always have time to jump on Google Hangouts, which is the best way to reach us. They’re very diligent in providing notes and feedback. They have been good at taking the initiative. They also use Slack, email, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The level of transparency and honesty was very high. Being transparent is a key differentiator.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Communication is key. They do a great job, but sometimes we get caught up in our personal lives and things get complicated. We’ve had conversations about increasing the level of communication.

Make sure you come in with a plan and a strategy for your end goal.
