The work was centered on the private wealth portal and the engineering layer behind it. Our internal team knows portfolio construction, fundamental equity research, fixed income and valuation. We were not looking to turn our investment professionals into software engineers, so Acquaint handled the implementation work in the background and worked against the investment data structures we provided. The frontend work included HTML and JavaScript views for the wealth dashboards. These covered portfolio balance widgets, asset allocation charts, historical valuation views and fixed income tracking screens. 
The objective was to give an investor a clean view of the figures without changing the underlying investment records. They also built the calculation logic needed for multi-currency yield rendering and currency exchange calculations. This was important because the portal could not simply display raw values. The calculations had to account for the currency represented by the underlying asset and present the resulting yield and balance figures according to our valuation rules. 
On the data side, Acquaint delivered the secure database connection files used to pull the portfolio feeds into the portal environment. Our asset information was passed through structured JSON data streams, with the connection layer keeping the presentation side separate from the underlying investment records. They maintained separate testing environments for validation before changes reached staging. That gave our team somewhere to check portfolio balance widgets, allocation charts, fixed-income figures and currency calculations against our own records before the work was considered ready. The final handover was also important to us. We received the complete Git repository, including the source code commits and the supporting project files. We were not left dependent on an opaque implementation that only the vendor could understand or maintain.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The most important result was stable code execution against our investment data. We were particularly concerned about the historical asset valuation charts because those screens could be working with large volumes of historical values. During our heavier data tests, the charts continued rendering without the noticeable lag we were trying to eliminate. The portal also passed our compliance checks around encryption of financial data. That was not a cosmetic requirement for us. Any system displaying private portfolio information has to meet a much higher standard than a normal business reporting site. We also moved away from having portfolio information depend entirely on manually prepared PDF statements and email exchanges. Investors could use the private portal to inspect balances, allocation information, dividend figures and relevant fixed-income data in one controlled environment.

Their project management was practical rather than overcomplicated. One example came when our investment committee asked for a fairly sudden change to the portfolio tracking screens. We wanted dividend forecasts sorted differently so that the information was more useful when reviewing expected income across accounts. Rather than treating that as an informal design request, their coordinator broke it into separate engineering tickets. One ticket covered the display logic, another covered the sorting and calculation behavior, and the validation team had a separate item for checking the revised output against our expected figures. That structure helped because our requirements can change when the investment committee reviews a reporting screen. Acquaint was able to absorb the adjustment without throwing away the existing work. They completed the revised tickets within our target timeline and gave us the updated staging version for validation.

There was one technical issue early in the project that required more work than we originally expected.
