Please describe your company and your position there.

I work for a consulting company in their Middle East Office. I was engaged with a health organization as a policy advisor and IT consultant when this project was carried out

For what projects/services did your company hire Aabiz Solutions, and what were your goals?

We got a complete one-window solution that allowed women to track their maternal health throughout pregnancy. Also having the respective physician up to date on the progress of the pregnancy. My goal in the project was to be able to gauge the quality of maternal health care being provided in a major city. We were also tracking and recording data on things like infant mortality, pregnancy complications, and neonatal health.

Complete web and mobile application suites for doctors and maternity patients to keep track of mother and baby health existed but the numerous data points we were receiving from it needed to be neatly warehoused in data marts that could be converted into dashboards s well s keeping the option of ad-hoc and fixed reporting open as well.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found the vendor through a mutual contact who helped get our app and web portal made. He referred this team and not only was their understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing impressive I fell in love with the PowerBI dynamic dashboards they had built for past customers.

Finally, when I found out that the CEO had a free PowerBI online tenant since 2015 I was completely sold on them as a vendor as back then nobody knew much about PowerBI and Microsoft was offering a handful of data scientists lifetime free tenants to popularize their new product.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

They devised and deployed a system atop the web and mobile app that had significant business intelligence to our system. It used SQL Data-Marts with PowerBI on the front end to provide fixed dashboards and ad-hoc reporting to allow health policymakers to understand the level and quality of healthcare currently being provided to citizens in major cities like Jeddah and Riyadh in the hopes of improving maternal healthcare and reduce infant mortality.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We only ever interacted with the CEO, their head of sales, and our key account manager. Our day-to-day communication was always with our KAM. The sales manager or CEO dropped a courtesy email now and then to let us know they were in the loop. We were given the contact information of all three from the get-go and told to feel free to escalate any issues to them at any point, but the need never arose

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Project outcomes are classified information however I will comment on deliverables. All deliverables were received either on or before time. They never needlessly delayed or strung up the project and always kept things moving in a forward direction at all times.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

They used Jira for project management. All tickets were set up with clear, easy-to-understand names, tags, and swim lanes. Secondly, they kept a singular point of contact who was available to answer any and all questions we had. Finally, we received an update email at 9 AM Monday. Irrespective of where in the project things were, that Monday email gave us complete visibility of what was going on and where things stood

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their strict SoP's and methodical approach to building a solution. First a complete scope of work was drawn up with all line of business processes mapped out, edge cases and exception handling user stories chawed down before a single line of code was written

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They should have stood firm when we asked for additional features to be added and billed us for the extra hours. Instead it was I who had to stand-up on their behalf and advocate for them to be paid a higher wage for services rendered

We needed a website that could handle large volumes of traffic and an even bigger inventory. Initially we got a Magento1 solution built but later had it migrated to Magento2. Aabiz also built native Android and iOS Applications for us that work seamlessly to date.

Their bid on UpWork was not only the most competitively priced but they put actual thought into it and it clearly showed that they understood our needs and knew what they were talking about. Communication is their biggest strength. Even in times when they fell behind on schedule or a mile-stone was delayed we were intimated well before time and never lied to or kept in the dark

Aabiz Solutions provided us with a seamless developmental experience for our web and mobile app, Thrifty. They built the website on Magento1 and later helped us move to Magento2. Our mobile applications were natively built. They built our website, then our Android Application, and Finally our iOS App. They helped get us published on the Play and Apple Stores, respectively. There was no grime salesmen; everyone was technically skilled and capable with good communication skills.

Their communication was flawless, and they were on-point in terms of transparency. We always knew what was going on in terms of development, and never once did we need to chase after them for an update. We would get a weekly progress email from their project manager and a minutes of the meeting after every call. They setup a dedicated Slack Channel and Jira Task Board for our project and we could always see where things stood with just a click of a few buttons.
