I’m the founder of a New Jersey-based digital services company called Divigner Designs. Operating in the tri-state area, we provide small to medium-sized businesses with a full range of technological services, from websites and mobile apps to augmented reality (AR) and VR. As of recent, we’ve also started to offer blockchain and AI.

Yudiz Solutions supports us across a wide range of projects. These days, we’ve been working with a lot of medical clients, so they assist with web and mobile app development as well as AR/VR projects.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Typically, when a client approaches us for a mobile/web app, we walk them through the development cycle step by step. Working with the client, we produce a document that describes the app’s functionality before passing it to Yudiz Solutions. Their team then breaks down the document to create a blueprint, summarizing the user stories, what the app would do, and how it would operate. This includes wireframes, screen flows, and designs. Afterward, we deliver the documents to the client.
Beyond mobile/web apps, they also provide key development work for AR and VR apps, specifically to train medical personnel to treat serious conditions (e.g., multiple sclerosis, trauma). For example, one app might display an AR patient on the operating table, bleeding from a car accident. The user would need to use their device to save the patient within the allotted time. In that sense, you could say that it’s a gaming app. Yudiz Solutions is currently working on another VR gaming project.
What is the team composition?
At any given point, we work with about five resources: a project manager, a UX designer, 3D modelers, and 3D programmers.
How did you come to work with Yudiz Solutions?
I found them on Upwork. After interviewing with multiple vendors, I went with Yudiz Solutions because they had an impressive profile of games and animations; it seemed to be a sweet spot for them. I also liked how young they were. The average age of their staff is under 30, so they had a lot of millennial creativity to bring. Not to mention, their rates were very affordable and seemed to work around the clock. We did a project in Upwork first to test their proficiency before continuing our engagement directly.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $26,000 thus far on the current project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in the fourth quarter of 2017, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve had a significant impact on our ability to get business. Once we completed several sophisticated AR projects, we were able to leverage them to pitch for bigger business. We’ve been able to increase our capacity to close contracts thanks to Yudiz Solutions’ support.
How did Yudiz Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re very responsive and excel at interpreting my work. That being said, I’ve done my part to enable them to be so responsive. With my background in documentation and business analysis, I’ve made it easier for them to adapt to our process and move quickly without a lot of direction. In general, we use Basecamp and Skype to manage projects, but they’re also flexible enough to use our specified tools. For the next project, they’ve agreed to use Microsoft Visual Studio.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Besides their technical strengths, they’re a young, honest company and are upfront about their skill set. They won’t lie to secure a project and then scurry to find the talent to back their claims. Furthermore, I appreciate that they’re always available and can have fun while working. It’s hard to find partners like that. We’ve invested a lot to forge them into what we need them to be.
They’re also exceptional communicators and collaborate well with other companies. Typically, offshore resources don’t like to share business with multiple vendors. However, Yudiz Solutions is not like that. They’re able to exchange information clearly to get everyone on the same page. Having sat in on their calls with other vendors, I’m pleased with how they communicate documents and requirements.
Are there any areas they could improve?
My only criticism is that they don’t have a lot of enterprise-level experience. That is to say, working with Fortune 500 companies and following a very rigid requirement process. They’ve written plenty of official statements of work for smaller clientele, but the requirements are usually not that hard to digest. However, our projects tend to be more difficult, so we’ve had to introduce them to higher-level engagements. We’re currently teaching them these processes, and they’re improving as they gain more experience.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Whatever you give them, try to have a good requirement process in place. If you take the time to introduce the team to your method, they’re more than happy to follow your lead. This way, they’ll adapt to you rather than you conforming to them.

Yudiz Solutions produces good work, but sometimes it’s not up to our clients’ high demands for quality. We’ve received both positive and negative comments from clients.

I would rate them seven out of ten in this area. Yudiz Solutions is flexible and offers prompt replies to our questions. We can always get in touch with them, even after working hours. We typically discuss and plan projects through Basecamp. They’re working through an organized schedule, and we haven’t experienced any delays. If we encounter challenges and need to escalate them to the management, Yudiz Solutions has a clear hierarchy in place. Not many comparable vendors offer this option for communication.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I admired the fact that Yudiz Solutions produces wireframes during the design stage. They carefully calibrate each element of the app before starting development. This technique is a notable strength of theirs that I haven’t seen with other companies.

Yudiz Solutions should put more of an emphasis on QA testing before delivering a product to their client. We’ve had them make quite a few modifications. They’ve been making improvements concerning deliverable items over time.

There was no consistent project flow, and the decision-making process appeared disjointed. Additionally, employees reported concerns about job security and micromanagement, which created a stressful work environment.
2. Financial Instability & Delayed Payments: The company seemed to be facing financial challenges, with reports of delayed payments to both employees and contractors. Some team members experienced salary reductions, while others were left in limbo regarding timely compensation.

In terms of responsiveness to needs, while some team members were willing to engage, overall there was a lack of proactive problem-solving or adjustments made when issues arose. Rather than providing timely updates, the team seemed to be reactive rather than proactive, which added unnecessary stress to the project.

However, we are seeing a marked improvement in this aspect of our collaboration, which suggests that Yudiz has been focusing on this aspect of the work to ensure that their high-quality products are deployed smoothly and can be maintained frictionlessly by the customer.
