We needed help developing our web-based shopping platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Xtreem developed our PHP-based Laravel platform. We used Node.js for our chat system, without using any third-party APIs or a chat server. We have one-time password (OTP) authentication on the system, which is used to register user mobile numbers. We've integrated APIs for many services, including key players for delivering parcels in the Asian region.

We worked with a project manager, a business analyst, and 2–3 developers from their team.

How did you come to work with Xtreem Solution?

We saw their portfolio on Freelancer.com, where they had some interesting work, and we then communicated with them on Skype. Their quote was also quite reasonable.

The total cost has been $17,000–$18,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in February 2018. We went live in early July 2018, but are still doing some ongoing enhancements.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The deliverable is good. We have some bugs and enhancements to take care of, but they've been helpful and open to feedback. Whenever I have an issue or comment, they responded well and tried to fix it for me.

We don’t have many users as we’re still taking baby steps. The beta users we do have are happy with the product.

How did Xtreem Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

They gave me a roadmap and a proposal, then handled everything professionally. They assigned a dedicated business analyst and a developer. I could discuss additional requirements with the business analyst and I worked directly with the developer on technical items. It was a well-organized and well-managed process.

Their commitment to delivering the work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve in terms of sticking to the timeline. It’s not so bad, but it would be good if they were always on time.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

They should establish a list of requirements before starting the actual work. Once those are confirmed, Xtreem will deliver.

Metro Contents provides home restoration services. This particular division offers pack out, cleaning, storage and pack back services for personal effects. This was my first time defining and building a software application. I hired Xtreem Solution to help me overcome three significant challenges. They provide support for managing data input into the system for estimated and ongoing costs. Reporting functions should help make informed, data-driven decisions. I’m an entrepreneur looking for a system that allows people in the shipping community to identify and solve anomalies within the process via online trading. This includes things like outstanding charges, penalties, etc. The idea is to make it publicly available so that multiple users can access information in a controlled way. It’s like a workflow, payment gateway, invoicing, and billing tool all in one.

What challenge were you trying to address with Xtreem Solution?

I didn’t have the necessary experience with technology to digitize this manual process.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The initial project phases were scoping and understanding. We spent three to four weeks talking over email and Skype trying to get an understanding of what the problem was. We shared a lot of process maps. They had a project team look at the information and come up with various ideas on how we should go about the process.

We created flowcharts and put together a lot of mockups of what the frontend should look like. There were some ideas of what the database should do from storage and capability perspectives. We started talking about wireframes and putting together a couple of pictures of the front- and backend interfaces. They made those live so we could see them.

We took three to four months for beta testing and then started talking about the web release. This included what technologies we wanted to use, how we would integrate it with SMS and payment gateways, and which would work best for our purposes. We made these decisions together.

They’ve used a PHP full stack and Bootstrap. They’ve also used some add-on technologies such as a payment gateway. We’re using Twilio as the SMS server and MySQL for the database.

I’ve worked with a few people. I have one project manager who pulls everything together. We’ve also had someone involved in the wireframing process and backend work. They’re all based in India.

How did you come to work with Xtreem Solution?

I initially found Xtreem Solution on Upwork. I posted a job and interviewed many different providers. Somebody else also recommended them to me. They were open to hearing my ideas and what the real problem was. They didn’t just jump into solution mode or start recommending methodologies like other providers did. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re close to having an MVP that we can release to market prior to perfecting it and adding on the final capabilities. I expect we’ll have external users before mid-February. We’re currently conducting some beta- and gamma testing with external users. It’s going really well.

I wanted the system to be available 24/7 with a payment gateway that interacts with the system. I also wanted it to flow really quickly and be able to store information for long periods of time on multiple platforms. Xtreem accomplished all of these things.

The system is also interactive and responsive. Xtreem Solution spent a lot of time doing that for us because the first couple of iterations weren’t as responsive as we wanted them to be. They reworked everything to make sure it was all fluid and interactive.

How did Xtreem Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project manager is on top of things. He has a technology background which allows him to come up with good solutions and ideas on how we can make things work. I’ve never had a problem with their project management. He has delivered everything on time. The biggest delays in this project have been due to me not being able to take phone calls. We have an hour-long call every two days to ensure that the input and output processes are looking fine.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They care about delivering a product that’s going to work. They’re not interested in just getting the project done and are more than willing to make changes. They’ve iterated it to a point that’s much better than we originally expected.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be a bit better with documentation. I’m a very visual person and would like to see this process become more streamlined. I’d like to have more pictures of the posts, more words, and more technical information for my organization.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I needed assistance with every aspect of the platform, including design, development, setting up my AWS server, and integrating my SSL certificate. I put together a very detailed requirements document which evolved over time, and they essentially built the platform from scratch.

The site includes a tiered membership functionality. While it’s free to join, paying members have access to exclusive content, particularly industry reports I provide regularly. Paying users may download the report, as well as an accompanying video and audio file.

The magic is really in the backend, as the system they built allows me to organize complex information and make updates as needed. But the user experience is also seamless, guiding members toward making a purchase or accessing the information they seek.

We started working together in September 2017 and completed the project in January 2018. We're working on some minor bug issues right now, but the site is live and I'm currently uploading content.

While I haven’t yet shared the product within the industry, I’ve received a number of compliments from people who have seen the site. They’ve been impressed by the clean, professional appearance and find the site easy to navigate.

I’m incredibly meticulous and stayed closely involved in the development process. I provided five to ten pages of notes every day–including weekends–for four months and they took the time to address each point, line by line. We communicated through Skype multiple times each day, with each conversation ranging from five minutes to an hour and a half, and I never encountered any language difficulties.

With other companies, it can be unclear who you’re actually speaking to. With Xtreem Solution, I knew my project manager and he made himself readily available.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is the only development company I’ve worked with, but customer service transcends any industry. Xtreem Solution treats their customers with tremendous respect and works to ensure customer satisfaction.

For instance, one feature I requested was autosizing for user profile pictures. They were honest about the fact that they didn’t have the necessary tools on hand, but they promised to find a solution and they delivered.

We had to rely on Upwork’s payment platform, which can sometimes be an inefficient system.

I’m the CEO for KBI Industries, a materials provider for the wood industry for kitchen, bedroom, or office furniture. We take on orders from third parties, fulfill them, and proceed all the way through to delivery.

Our old framework for taking orders was completely manual, so we had to do lots of paperwork and phone calls. We decided it was time to take orders through an online system directly from our website, so we began looking for a firm.

Xtreem Solution gave us a unique set of software impregnated into our website, which actually calculates the material usage, the cost, and even delivery. Literally everything from the beginning to the end of an order. The system provides our client with a quotation in real time, and that speeds up the process and makes our site look much more professional.

It seems they had one person for each separate task. I had a designer, programmer, and developer, along with a few other team members. In total, there were around five or six people who worked on the project from start to finish.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Xtreem completed all their work, and now I have to do a few things before the system goes live for our customers. I’ve been able to use it, though, and it’s already increased my workload tenfold, but the level of hassle has decreased significantly. I can get more done in a shorter amount of time because everything is automated now; we don't have to make our own receipts or do everything manually anymore. Their algorithm is extremely accurate, and the quick quote makes us much more favorable amongst our competition.

We mainly used Skype chat to communicate on a daily basis, and my point of contact answered every question I had. Any changes we asked to make were done within a few hours. There was never any misunderstanding between what was expected and what they gave.

We were trying to connect online stores on a single platform, from a multitude of different sales channels and platforms. We had the issue of connecting the carriers and sales platforms to one dashboard, and syncing all of those together.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Originally, my team had started developing the solution together, but we ran into some database issues and with the front-end development. We went from start to finish with Xtreem Solution. We reviewed the original architecture and infrastructure of the site, the language we were going to use, as well as the API’s we were going to use, and we reviewed how it was going to work; everything was hands on. It was very smooth sailing with them, and their team was very professional and had excellent communication. There were available whenever I needed them.

As of now, it is strictly a web platform. Xtreem Solution used PHP, MySQL databases, and JavaScript for the front end. It has quite a few features, some of which are the API, which is basically a single API that connects carriers like USPS, UPS, FedEx, Canada Post, and platforms like eBay, Etsy, Shopify, creating an API that connects to one dashboard. On top of that, we also have email systems, as well as fully customizable shipping labels, and emails associated with every single sale and order.

About four or five people have been working on the project, but there may have been other people that worked on it as well for the smaller aspects of the project.

Reviews have been positive and the design is flawless. Like any program, and especially as it is the first version, there are minor things that can be tweaked and can be better, but as of now, all of the reviews have been good. We have spoken to a lot of potential customers that are using different sales channels and platforms, and they have liked it. The product we developed can compete with a lot of other options that are on the market right now.

They have great project managers that are very detail oriented. Their communication has been great. They are reliable, accountable and on time, and answer any question that may arise. I am the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer for the company. We build a device that attaches onto the grips of a firearm to monitor when and where it’s being used. The idea behind it is to improve response times for law enforcement and the military.

We wanted to add to NSD. We didn’t have the expertise in iOS or Android to create an app to take in data and react to it. We needed Xtreem Solution to create an app that provided an interface for officers and other firearm users to see where they are on the map and where assistance is needed.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.

We hired Xtreem Solution to create an iOS and Android app for us to help us manage the data that comes from the firearm’s monitor and also to decrease response times. They used iOS Swift to do the coding and developing and went through the whole process of launching the apps in the app stores. Other than providing ad descriptions and that sort of thing, they did everything. The scope of the project increased as I got more ideas for what else I wanted to do with the app. They were very receptive to the new ideas and willing to work around and add onto them, and they still provide backup. Often users will come to me with a bug that I had not figured out and Xtreem Solution puts in the time and effort to fix it.

I found Xtreem Solution through a freelancer. I was shopping around to see who had the experience and the capabilities to handle this sort of project. They quoted us on our ideas and gave us a timeframe of when they would be able to complete those specifications. Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

In general, the user feedback that I’ve gotten has been that this is a professional app. There are some additional features that they would like, and this is something we will pursue in a second round of coding and programming. Otherwise, I think Xtreem Solution did a really good job of meeting the requirements and exceeding in certain areas. That was reflected by positive user feedback.

How did Xtreem Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

I was in touch with 3 developers and also the manager. There were at least a half dozen more developers who worked on it, but I did not have direct contact with them. Their communication was great, and they made sure I understood where they were at in the process, and what was being worked on, which allowed me not only to give input but shape how the app turned out. It started out as a very bare bones app, and they were very helpful in helping me understand why they had to do things a certain way or giving me suggestions as to what direction we should take the app. I’m satisfied that the requirements requested were fulfilled and in a timely manner. There were some issues with the time difference and language barrier since they are in India, but they were very responsive during my business hours. We used Skype, a freelancer chatting system, and email. We used Google Spreadsheets to share bug reports and that sort of thing. Every tool was used to make sure I understood where the team was. If I had any input, I was able to put it down and it they responded very quickly.

I was impressed with how they gave their all and used their level of expertise to carry this out in a professional and effective manner. They satisfied everything at a very good, effective, and competitive price point.

Doing what they do but cheaper, faster, and more effectively, but that’s sort of like chasing a unicorn.

We are a Melbourne-based real estate agency and developer, mainly focusing on apartment buildings. We also offer online cash rebates and run a website through which we share information with business partners. I am a marketing executive for the company.

We were aiming to set up a cash rebate website. It was our first project working with an overseas company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We built a project brief in which the whole structure of the website and its functions were described. After this was approved, Xtreem Solution started the user interface design part of the job. The first thing that impressed me about their team was the design sense they had.

After this phase, we interfaced with Xtreem Solution’s web developer and put together the structure of the website from scratch. We didn’t use existing platforms like Magento or WordPress. After the frontend was completed and approved, we started on the backend development. This stage took longer than expected since we kept adding more sections. We have changed our business scope quite a bit, so we included additional sections on the site. This expanded our timeframe. Xtreem Solution provided testing in order to ensure that the website was bug-free. It was deployed after that. They also built two more websites for us.

I posted a job on Freelancer after taking over that account from my previous manager. We received around 50 bids, but I wasn’t part of the decision-making process. When we first got in touch with Xtreem Solution, we were working with another team on a different website. They were much better by comparison and have become our number one choice since that time.

The total cost was around $20,000. The initial price was $7,500, but we added more items to the scope.

We started working with Xtreem Solution in March or April of 2016. The project was completed at the end of the year. Recently, we needed to add another function to the website and got back in touch with Xtreem Solution.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The site turned out pretty much like we wanted, and it has been working fine. I was the main person in charge of website updates. However, we’ve been using another vendor for search engine optimization since July 2016, so I don’t have a lot of knowledge in terms of traffic. We did have a big concern about the website’s HTTPS connectivity. Another IT consultant suggested updating its SSL certificates, and I contacted Xtreem Solution about this. They were able to address the issue promptly.

How did Xtreem Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication relied mostly on Skype and email, which was a challenge for us. I was the liaise for all our communication. Since we’re based in Australia, and they’re in India, we do have a time difference with Xtreem Solution. That meant we only have three or four hours of communication per day, and we use those limited hours to their fullest. Xtreem Solution has been proactive in keeping their time free for the shared hours with our team.

When we had more complicated matters that needed interactive communication, Xtreem Solution was very attentive and responsive to my requests. They also initiated discussion appointments when there was an issue to address. Reports are sent via email since they involve larger attachments. We always receive updates, and they’re always happy to address my questions.

What did you find most impressive about Xtreem Solution?

I’ve been impressed by their designer’s touch. This is much harder to find than technology skillsets. They do have very sound IT knowledge, especially given that our website was built from scratch. I don’t have any complaints, and I would recommend Xtreem Solution to anyone looking to build a site.

Not that I’m aware of. It may be because I’m not an IT person.

I’m the CEO of Ohlesson, an educational social media platform that connects students with teachers worldwide. Fluent tutors teach their native language to students. If someone has the education or graduated with a degree in teaching languages, then they would have certified teacher status. That would give them the opportunity to develop lessons and teach students from all around the world. Students register and buy points on the website. The points act as the currency of the website and are used to purchase services from the teachers.

We hired Xtreem to create a website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The site was developed in CodeIgniter and LiveChat. I worked with 6–8 people from their team. They did the frontend and backend development, and the process took six months. The website has been completed, but I’m going to add more features to the website in the future.

How did you come to work with Xtreem Solution?

The process of finding the right developer took six months to a year. I read a lot of reviews on other companies as well as Xtreem. After I’d been through 100 companies, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to work with them. My decision was based on their work experience and the hours they put in. They put more hours in comparison with any other company, which gave them more experience. That told me they were experienced in converting to better work.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in December 2015, and the site was completed in August 2016. There was a lot of time spent on discussing the project. They provided two months of service on their work after the project was completed. I believe I will be working with them again in the future.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I’m completely satisfied with the work Xtreem did. The website needs advertising and marketing. To date, there are 4,000 students and ten teachers on the site. The website has been growing, but I will do more advertising campaigns to help it grow even more. I have received feedback from the students who said the site made it easier for them to learn a language. They don’t have to go to school since they can learn at home. The site also gave teachers an opportunity to earn income from home by providing lessons in their native language or, if they have an education, to plan lessons and teach students.

How did Xtreem Solution perform from a project management standpoint?

If I found a small bug, I would let the Xtreem management know and they would handle it very well. They were very responsive and were available five days a week. When I had a question or request, they provided a solution or tried to help solve the problem. We sometimes communicate through email, but it’s mostly through Skype. The project was completed on time and within budget.

If you have something in mind, Xtreem Solution will help you achieve it no matter how complicated it is. There are a lot of functionalities on the website, and they did what it takes to make it happen.

They’re not available during the weekend, which is understandable, but I do think it would be good if they would have it as an option. They’re usually available five days a week.
