Quick context. DS Maison is brand new, we're launching in Beverly Hills, and the whole company is built around one idea: a client should be able to have a home designed with real taste, then actually see it in their own rooms before spending a dollar. Not renderings on a laptop. Their room, their light, the sofa at the size it will really be.

We took that to Wve Labs in February. Still in development, still ongoing, but here is what they've built so far. It's a native iOS app (Swift). You scan a room with the LiDAR on an iPhone or iPad and get a proper 3D model with real measurements, doors, windows. Then the client does a short taste session, reacting to imagery, uploading a few things they love, and the AI builds a style profile from that.
From the room, the profile, and a brief, it composes a scheme: furniture, lighting, rugs, layout. Everything comes from a vendor catalog we curate, so a recommendation is always a real piece with a real price and a lead time, never a mood-board fantasy. Wve tuned the recommendation engine on a reference set our team put together, which is why the results look like DS Maison and not like the internet.

Then the AR part, which is the part people remember. Every piece placed in the actual room at true scale. Swap a fabric, swap a finish, approve pieces one at a time. There's a running budget with alternatives at different price points, and the app flags anything that won't physically fit.

For us there's a Next.js console where we review and edit what the AI proposes, present schemes to clients, and track approvals and orders. Node.js and Python on the back end, hosted on AWS.

Delivered to date: the scanning and AR app, the style-profile and scheme engine, the vendor catalog, budget and fit logic, the console, and all the infrastructure underneath it.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Honest answer: we haven't launched, so the numbers that matter don't exist yet. I'll come back and add them.

What I can tell you is that every phase has hit its date. Room scanning, style profiling, and scheme generation are built and working. The AR walkthrough is in testing. The console is in progress, on schedule.

And the concept works. The first time we scanned a real room, watched the AI propose a scheme that actually looked like us, and then walked through it in AR at full scale, that was the moment the company is built on, and it holds up. Everyone we've shown it to so far has had the same reaction we did.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Two-week sprints, a demo at the end of each, a written status on Fridays. Yash runs it and we've never once had to ask where things stand.

Deadlines have been met, every one so far. When we needed the AR walkthrough earlier than planned to show a couple of early clients, they reshuffled the sprint and got it to us. Wve has a Beverly Hills office, so a lot of this has happened in person, and the rest is Slack with same-day answers. They also push back when they think we're wrong, which, at this stage of a company, is worth a lot.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

That they have style and engineering depth in the same building. That's rarer than it sounds.

 Ivor was our first call and got it immediately: this is about encoding a point of view, not building a furniture search engine. He's stayed close to the project the whole way. Ankit, their CTO, shaped the AI himself and made the decision to tune the engine on our curated reference set instead of the entire catalog.
That one decision is the reason the schemes feel like DS Maison. Bhavesh led the AR and iOS work, and the accuracy of the LiDAR capture and the true-scale placement is what makes a client believe what they're seeing. And Tabrez, on design, made an app that looks like it belongs in a Beverly Hills living room rather than in an app store screenshot.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Wve Labs could have done differently?

One thing. The first batch of generated schemes leaned on the full vendor catalog, and they were competent but generic. Not us. We flagged it, Ankit's team retuned the engine on our reference set, and the difference was night and day. In hindsight that should have been the starting point, and we probably should have pushed for it ourselves. Fixed now, and the product is better for it.

Wve Labs has assisted us with mobile app development and design for Android and iOS. We've started with a discovery phase, and the team has outlined the documentation and created user stories. We've designed each screen and user interaction together.

Wve Labs has also plotted out the timeline for the integration process and the development phase. They've built everything from scratch, and we've only given them our idea.

Our app is a dating app, and it's different from other dating apps since it's centered around geolocation. Users can set a radius to meet people within a certain distance of their current location. However, we're more interested in real-time geolocation services than a generic approach to location.

Our app utilizes the user's actual location in real time. We have third-party API integration with Bitmoji. Users can upload their Bitmoji to make the app more fun and interactive. Bitmojis show up on Google Maps in real time. Users can see who's around them in real time.

One of the biggest parameters we have is safety. Wve Labs has built safety features into the app. Users can set the distance around their home location, a geofence, and their avatar disappears completely. If they forget to turn off their location services, the app takes that out of the user's hands. The app turns on and off when they leave their home.

Wve Labs has also provided optimization and marketing services for the App Store and Google Play. They also offer ongoing maintenance services.

Our main point of contact is Anthony, Wve Labs's head of business development. He takes the role of our project manager. The actual team performing the app's development is located in India. However, they're all employees of Wve Labs, not a third-party company.

We also work with Yash, our head developer. He's very responsive via Slack and communicates excellently. We've also met Dave, Wve Labs' owner. However, Anthony is our daily contact point.

How did you come to work with Wve Labs?

We found them through a Google search. We wanted a company in our area so we could have face-to-face communication and avoid third-party development. That's one of the reasons we chose Wve Labs.

We've spent about $140,000.

We started working together in March 2024, and our engagement is ongoing.

The biggest thing that has impressed us is Wve Labs' personal touch. We didn't want a prominent app developer with whom we'd have no personal interactions. We've searched for a partner to interact with personally and daily, and that's precisely what we've received. Anthony has been excellent. We have his personal and work phone numbers. We can reach out to him anytime we have questions.

Since we're a startup with little experience, Wve Labs' accessibility has been paramount.

They're a also relatively new company, so they've learned some things with us. There have been small unforeseen things that they haven't anticipated. Wve Labs will probably know them next time with more experience. Nonetheless, Wve Labs has performed great with us.

Be honest with yourself about what you want and tell Wve Labs. The team is highly transparent and honest about what they can and can't do. As long as you tell them what you want, Wve Labs will excel in meeting those demands.

Wve Labs has pointed us in the right direction for some services they don't provide, like a more traditional marketing approach, and it has been phenomenal.

I'm the founder and owner of OG Props, a sports gaming and social mobile app. My company started as a game idea, but as I was developing it, I got more ideas to make it also a social site. Although there's no betting involved, people can engage through my site throughout the sporting season.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wve Labs?

Initially, I wanted to get an estimate of how much it would cost to build this app to see if I could pay it completely out of my pocket or if I needed to seek investors. Therefore, the goal depended on the price. Ideally, I wanted to reach a clickable prototype with a frontend design so that I could showcase the app to other people and figure out how it would work without actually developing the entire code behind it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Wve Labs helped me create the prototype and frontend design of my mobile app. Before hiring them, I already had a vision for the platform, including the color scheme and how each of the screens would look. Still, Wve Labs helped me create my logo and polished my vision for the product. Additionally, they suggested additional features based on other projects they had worked on.

Throughout the process, we collaborated to define what we wanted the UI/UX to look like. For example, we iterated on the color scheme to find out ways to make it more digestible for the user and ultimately make the app seem more polished and nice. We went back and forth with different ideas, trying different things out. As for the technology stack, we used Figma.

I worked with three primary teammates from Wve Labs. I believe there were others working behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with Wve Labs?

I'm not tech-savvy, so when I had the idea for this app, I did some research and stumbled across Clutch's website, where I found Wve Labs. Choosing them was a combination of factors. The team had worked on another sports app, so I contacted the founder of that app independently and asked him questions about his process and how he felt about working with Wve Labs.

He told me that Wve Labs did a great job, and I was already leaning toward them. Therefore, the fact that the team had experience in the sports industry and the fact that this person reassured my feelings about Wve Labs made me go with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from November 2023–March 2024. Wve Labs provided me an estimate of how much would cost to fully develop the app. Currently, I'm sorting some things out, but I intend to continue working with them once I seek funds overseas to complete the project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I'm the only one who has seen the prototype; I haven't put Wve Labs' work out or showcased it. Still, I'm very pleased with how the app looks, and I'm now eager to get it fully developed. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality of Wve Labs' work, and I want to continue working with them to develop this app and launch it to the market. I'm working diligently on it, so it's only a matter of time.

How did Wve Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Wve Labs did a great job managing the project. They were always very transparent and kept me in the loop about where we were and what they were working on. There was never a lack of communication, and everything was openly explained to me. Moreover, they did a good job sticking to the promised timeline.

We communicated via Slack, phone, text, and Zoom. Our communication channels were very versatile, so whenever I needed something, I always got a quick response.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Although everyone did a great job, I would like to shout out Anthony (Head of Business Development). He acted as my account manager, and he did a great job communicating with me and being available if I needed to jump on a call with him quickly. He did a great job putting me at ease and making sure everything was good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Going into the project, I had some reservations because I was based in Connecticut, and Wve Labs was based in California, although they had teammates all across the US. It was impressive how well they were able to bridge the gap between us despite the distance. Even though they were located across the country, I felt like the project went on seamlessly, and they made me feel at ease. There was never a time when I was worried or anxious about anything.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything Wve Labs could have improved on. I only did the prototype development with them, and everything was straightforward.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a vision of what you want. Even if you're not the most technical person, the more details you provide Wve Labs with, the better they'll be able to assist you. Work on the foundations of your app and let them assist you with the rest.

I’m the co-founder and operations manager at Apolide Travel, a travel company. We're a small startup — for now, it's just me and my co-founder.

We wanted a professional and visually appealing website. Our needs included online leads, visibility, and branding for the initial stages of our startup.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Wve Labs is designing and developing our website and providing branding support. We started the process with a discovery meeting, where we dove deep into our brand and vision and how we wanted to communicate them to the public. From there, we went into the design phase. The team designed every page of the website using Figma and edited it according to my comments. We worked together to find the best way to tweak the designs to meet requirements. 

The entire design has been approved, and now Wve Labs is in the development stage, which has just begun. The team is integrating the design into the website.

Our initial meetings were with Dave (Co-Founder & CEO) and Delaney (Account Manager), who now acts as our project manager. Currently, we work with a team of designers and engineers from Wve Labs.

I found them through a referral from a friend. For us, it was very important to find a company and team that we could really trust and have a long-term relationship with, which was why it was important for us to receive a referral.

We started working together around June 2024, and our engagement is ongoing.

Wve Labs' work has met our expectations. We've officially approved Wve Labs' design and are super happy with how it's come out. Since they're knowledgeable about different markets, they've provided us with a lot of insight that has improved my vision and helped create something that attracts the audience I wanted. We've trusted Wve Labs from the moment we started working together. 

How did Wve Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

They deliver on time and within budget. We primarily communicate through a Slack channel, but we've also used email, especially at the beginning of the process. Wve Labs communicates everything in a timely manner, and we have Zoom meetings once or even twice a week because they make adjustments very quickly. 

Sometimes, it can be challenging to communicate exactly how we want things, so we've had a lot of back and forth with Wve Labs, which has always gone in a positive direction. With every meeting, we get closer to what we want the website to look like. Overall, we've had a very speedy process. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Delaney has been kind and really helpful with everything, including when the design needed tweaks. My partner and I are first-time business owners, so this has been a learning process. Delaney has tried to understand our vision as best as possible and helped us communicate that to the designers and developers to ensure the results are exactly what we want.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We're really happy to have chosen Wve Labs because they listen and take the time to ensure every single detail — even the smallest — is exactly to our preference and satisfaction. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

One small thing they could improve is how quickly they make changes. Sometimes, it takes two iterations for a change to be made due to miscommunication on both sides. However, the minute I've pointed out a change hasn't been made, the team enacts the changes. Therefore, I wouldn't say there are downsides to my experience because everything is always figured out, and the results are always good.

Trust the process. The first design Wve Labs presents to you might not be perfect, but as long as you give them constructive feedback about the specific changes needed to make your vision come alive, they'll listen and be receptive to what you tell them. Be very clear on your vision, which will help them be more productive.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wve Labs?

We needed to develop our company's application.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Wve Labs initially conducted a discovery phase where we decided on the application's functionalities, and the team sent me a quote. For the design, I've provided the color scheme and name. Wve Labs has presented logo designs and color schemes for us to choose from using Figma. 

Wve Labs has written our app's code and launched a beta version that I have on my phone. We constantly look at it and request changes in design and functionalities. The team has launched our app for iOS and Android and continues to fix bugs and add features as the number of users grows. 

What is the team composition?

I mainly worked with Anthony (Head of Business Development). I also worked with a team of developers, including Anish, Yash (Associate Project Manager), Ankit (Co-Founder & CTO), and Dave (Co-Founder & CEO).

How did you come to work with Wve Labs?

I found Wve Labs through a Google search. I contacted the team because I liked their website and signed the contract after discussing my project.
How much have you invested with them?

We've spent around $45,000–$50,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Wve Labs around April 2023, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We launched the app a couple of days ago, and I don't have metrics to share at the moment. Users are downloading and sharing our app with their friends. Wve Labs is currently altering some things we want to change. The team is on top of work and is quick and efficient, considering they're in a different timezone.

How did Wve Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Wve Labs has gone a little over budget, although we expected it. The team meets deadlines and communicates via Slack, Zoom, and phone calls. We use Figma to collaborate and share designs.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to highlight Anthony's work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Wve Labs' response time is incredible. I don't expect the team to respond when I ask something after hours, and they're always quick to reply. Wve Labs is very organized and on top of tasks; they're good at keeping track of work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything for Wve Labs to improve. I'm satisfied with our engagement.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I suggest having a projection of your project's budget before engaging with Wve Labs and anticipate that it will most likely go over a bit.
