We were in the process of demonstrating to local residents what our hydrogen hub would look like in their community. We needed a realistic render that would show the hub, along with entrances and directional signage for fleets to enter and refuel.

We were able to successfully pass the community requirements, along with using the render at other facility locations and community. As well, we were able to using the render at conferences, our website, and in other marketing materials.

Wow-How was excellent at keeping in constant communication. The over-delivered on 2 of the projects that we have worked on with them. Easy to talk with, they understand the project requirements very well, and responded quickly with any comments we had for them.

I am the Head of Sales in the company. We produce tire mold components, namely those are spring vents for tire mold deaeration during tire curing and tread pattern sipes, which create thin groves on tire pattern.

This product video was needed to explain how our product works inside the tire mold, because, normally this process is hidden inside and cannot be seen. Specifically, it was the function of spring vents during tire mold cavity deaeration.

We got approached by Wow-How directly. But before that, we had been thinking about how to do it, whom to ask. We needed 3D graphic video, showing something that cannot bee seen and shot in a reagular way. It must have been done like a video game or cartoon movie. For us something we did not and even now still do not understand at all. The offer from Wow-how came right on time, like a mirracle.

for us it was important to remain patient, because, 3D movie designers do not understand tires, obviously. But in the same way, we did not understand video making. But the result is astonishing!

The project had to move fast as a deadline was rapidly approaching, but the vendor was still able to accommodate the very tight schedule. We were given a clear plan for the execution of the work and had a continuous and productive dialog throughout the process with different milestones and approval points from us, so that only a few revisions were needed in the end.

I was in regular contact with 2 resources from the vendor's team, a project lead and a lead animator, but other animators were involved as well.

The delivered animation lived up to all our requirements and has been received with great appreciation and admiration by all stakeholders involved throughout our organization.

We needed to develop some visual and digital content for our marketing, so we hired Wow-How Studio.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Wow-How Studio created a digitally animated explainer video for us; it was all 3D digital content. First, we had some initial meetings with Wow-How Studio to kickstart the project. Then, I provided them with the storyboard, and they made the entire video themselves in their own studios. We iterated via email 40–50 times during the production process until we got the video we wanted.

I worked with an account manager, a project manager, and two other people from Wow-How Studio.

Wow-How Studio sent a cold email to my colleague, and it was good timing.

We spent about $12,000.

We worked together from August–September 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve shown the video produced by Wow-How Studio at trade shows and gotten great feedback from people. They’ve told us about how professional it looks. We’ve also posted the video on our YouTube channel.

How did Wow-How Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

Wow-How Studio’s project management was very good. They used a tool to create an interactive storyboard with the blueprint of the video, where I could make comments on very specific parts of it. That tool was very helpful, and it worked for us very well.

Regarding time management, I initially provided Wow-How Studio with our deadline, and they provided me with a whole production schedule. Additionally, their communication was great. We communicated via Zoom and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Wow-How Studio’s creativity and content were of high quality, exceeding industry standards. They’re at the top of their industry.

The project took longer than I originally thought it would, so be aware of it and have realistic timeline expectations.

We hired Wow-How Studio to design and produce Roadr's promo video for our launch. Our goal was to create a very sleek, high-end, and futuristic 3D video that represents everything the Roadr brand stands for.

I came into contact with this vendor through LinkedIn. And I selected them because I loved the professionalism, attention to detail, organization, excellent catalogue of previous works, communication and follow-through.

We started with the discovery meeting. Then, we were assigned a producer who would oversee the video production and communicate directly to us. The video producer explained to us the stages of production and timeline the video would undergo before production started. We went through the following stages of production: script, storyboard, modeling, music, voiceover, animatic, style frame, render, compositing, and final cut.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with the wonderful Rena S. . She was the consummate professional: communicative, detailed oriented, fast paced, and, overall, great producer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

At the moment of my writing, we haven't yet unveiled the video to the public because we're releasing the app in the coming days. However, I can already say that the very few people that got the chance to see the video were jaw-dropped and extremely impressed with the production quality, concepts and compositing. They likened it to top-tier video ads of top-flight brands like Apple, Mercedes, and Nike.

The project management style was very efficient. We used email for direct communication, google docs for notes and revisions, frame.io for video sharing, and others.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They took the time to learn about what we were really looking for through the brief and were preemptive with further questions. Additionally, they work well under pressure. They were able to follow through with the timeline without compromising the quality of the video. They worked with us while dealing with the war in Ukraine—absolutely, admirable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only other room for improvement that I would suggest is to add an additional communication channel like Slack, Telegram or WhatsApp for more instantaneous communication. But that would be me being a perfectionist and nitpicking because the overall experience was A+.

Easy to communicate (even though most of the team is in Europe). Fast response. Offered creative ideas. They allowed as many revisions as were necessary. The tools they used were easy to manage and utilize.

We are working with them on our next project already and one request I made was to keep the old versions of the video available until the end of the project. But that's minor.

Our heat pump is the first of its kind - you install it in your window, and it doesn't block your view. We needed an installation video to show our users how to do it themselves, since most heat pumps require professional installation. We are using the video as part of the user setup process and we are promoting it on social and with our partners to show how simple the process is.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Wow How's proposal, pricing, and portfolio blew the other 3 companies we contacted out of the water. The quality of animation, precision, and creativity they showed in their portfolio was truly impressive.

We started with a discovery meeting. We sent them our installation manual, some brand assets (color palette, photos), and an installation video we shot on an iphone. Using those elements, they put together a video script that required very little editing on our end. I was impressed with how they condensed our 15 minute installation process into 100 seconds. Then they sent us storyboards, which were very easy to comment on back and forth. Then they sent a basic render of the whole video, and style frames. After 2 rounds of minimal edits we get the final video, which was perfection!

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked initially with Julia, the Strategic Partnerships Development Manager, and then mostly Volodymyr, the Executive Producer. They were both incredibly professional. Volodymyr's team did an incredible job with the animation and asked excellent questions whenever we provided feedback that required clarification.

We have only just uploaded the video for external use this morning, but it has been received very well by our team.

They used Vimeo and (minimal) video conferences to push the project forward. The Vimeo video they sent us had a feature that allowed us to click on any timestamp/spot on the screen and provide feedback. It was seamless and a pleasure to progress through each stage.

They did an amazing job of representing our very unique product visually based only on photographs. Also their style frames represented our brand perfectly. They responded to feedback in a very timely and professional manner.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Wow How is a perfect company! I wouldn't change anything about the project we did together or the way it unfolded.

We needed to have animation made for a video of our small saw to be able to show details that were too difficult to shoot with a traditional video camera.

We compared the work of several online animation companies and chose Wow How based on their experience animating equipment that had a lot of small details.

We started with emails that detailed what we were looking for in 4 different animations that would be edited into our final video. We were asked for the CAD drawings for this machine and details were finalized as to the style we were looking for. We were sent rough animations throughout the process to ensure the feel and viewpoint was what we wanted and the final 4 scenes were delivered to our great satisfaction.

We worked with Anastasiia, Nataliya, and Marina. The feedback process was very smooth and easy. The edits we asked for were turned around immediately and there was never a misunderstanding or difficulty in this process.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We haven't finished the final video yet, but we can tell by the 4 sections animated by Wow How, that the video is going to be terrific. These 4 sections were very difficult and awkward in the original video, making it look amateur and didn't represent the machine well. Once the version is made with these animations, it will make a complete difference to the video.

The entire group at Wow How was top notch. Nataliya was the manager of the project and kept in constant communication with me regarding how to start the project and what items were needed from Allied. Anastasiia was terrific relating the video needs and how the editing worked, as well as making sure the edits were done quickly and correctly. There was never any issue with the edits we asked for and the end result looks fantastic.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very professional and efficient. They kept me in the loop throughout the entire process so I always knew where the project was and how far it still had to go. Top communication from them was a stand out!

I really can't think of anything they did that needed improving.
