We were looking to create three videos to help people understand the dangers of online personal data collection and how people can take back control of their privacy.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were brand awareness and education of our product. It was important that the videos were both information and engaging in order to capture the attention of viewers.

SOLUTION

How did you select Wow-How Studio?

Wow-How's team was so creative and thoughtful. I was very impressed by both their organized account leads and the creative solutions they presented to bring our scripts to life. Online privacy is a difficult subject and their ingenuity went above and beyond what we ever expected! Lastly, they instantly understood our brand colors and style.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

Startpage provided three scripts and then the Wow-How team took it from there. From initial storyboards to custom illustrations and animations to VO artist and music mastery. It was an easy and straightforward process.

What was the team composition?

BD lead, Account lead and creative team.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our entire executive team was very impressed with the videos. In just two months, one of the videos has 60k views on YouTube. They video have also been used by media outlets that are reporting on privacy to help educate and inform people about data collection. We are very pleased!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. They team was great a communication and were able to adapt to our feedback with ease.

We were impressed by how creative they were with turning words on a script into visual metaphors.

We are currently launching pre engineered laser and weld cells as standard products and needed someone to create high quality rendered promotional videos using CAD we had designed.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to show the deisgn and capibilities of these cells in a short, highly engaging video that would capture the viewers attention. We envisioned a 1 min video that would show all the key features and keep the viewer watching until the end.

SOLUTION

How did you select Wow-How Studio?

Timing was perfect. They reached out to us in LinkedIn the same week we were doing research on companies that could offer this service. They also send a portfolio of previous projects they did and one of those projects was very simular to what we had it mind. Thier price was also very competitive.

Describe the project in detail.

A sales person set up the contract and introduced the project team. At this point we had to send them a full CAD model of our product. There was some difficulties during this process.

It was our first time doing a project like this and there was some struggles with language barriors as our product was highly technical and many of the language used was not easily translated.

After we had the CAD sorted out, things moved along quicker. We did have some issues with feedback not being implemented and then having to use addional revisions to get the feedback implemented.

What was the team composition?

Sales, and then project manager for the remainder of the project. Only towards the very end did we meet a member of the team. Once this happened the project went much better.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have not yet launched the video to the public but overall feel it will be a valuable asset for the product launch

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Overall it was okay. There was a lost in coomunication between project manager and thier team. There were numorous times when clear directions were not recieved by there team which causes additional revisions.

In the end they did acccomodate and had us work more directly with thier team which greatly accelerated the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were highly engaged throughout the entire project. They did their best to keep out team on schedule and were accomodating to the fact that we were new to this process.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Yes, there was a commmunication gap between out team and thiers. It was nice to work more directly with thier team.

Our product has many functionalities, which can sometimes be difficult for sales prospects to comprehend. Given the complex nature of our product, we hoped to simply and clearly communicate the main benefits of Brokerage Engine to prospective customers.

SOLUTION

How did you select Wow-How Studio?

We evaluated 3 companies on quality of past work, price and the ability to clearly understand our product/mission. Wow-How competed favorably in all aspects, but what really sealed the deal was their level of creativity.

Many video production companies rely on repurposing "stock" graphics for these types of videos. Instead, Wow-How really takes the time to craft a unique art style for the client.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

Straightforward process of providing the creative brief and script. Once received, Wow-How did the heavy lifting of storyboarding, VO selection, and animation. All along the way, our PM @ Wow-How would provide frequent updates and help with any questions. Very flexible on our revision requests and always super friendly.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We were provided a dedicated PM to work with, who was exceptionally helpful, friendly and open to feedback. Excellent process all around.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As our first piece of brand video content, it will provide the opportunity to be used on our website, primarily - in addition to our drip campaigns, social media and conference collateral.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communications were handled over email between Brokerage Engine and Wow-How, which was extremely effective. As stated before, Wow-How's communication was consistent and frequent - much appreciated.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

This is our first experience with a vendor of this type, so they made a great impression on all fronts.

We were assigned a project manager to serve as the main point of contact. This was very convenient and showed the professionalism of the studio.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The end product was well-received by our team. We asked for the working files and they were all well-organized and neat which made it very easy for us to make some necessary changes.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Highly effective. The Wow-How studio was professional and efficient from the beginning up to the handoever of the project and source files.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Professionalism, proactivity and workflow. Wow-How uses tools that made it easier for me and my team to give our comments. There's a clear project timeline and they always delivered on time. We had a very tight timeline but Wow-How was willing to discuss a compromise that was feasible for both parties. They didn't over-promise.

At App Annie, we are always working on creatives to promote our products. We do this worldwide and test every design we have to be able to improve it and get the most out of it. We asked Wow-How Studio to help us create animations to promote one of our apps, Phone Guardian.

Our UA videos have a short life on the web and need to be renewed every two weeks. To do so we work together with professional animators to help us communicate the benefits of our apps in a creative way.

What were your goals for this project?

With our videos, we are aiming for more visibility and a better conversion rate due to more downloads. Our videos should explain the benefits of the app and trigger people to download and use our app.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

When looking for a collaboration with professional animators, we searched online for agencies and compiled a list of 10 freelancers and studios worldwide. One of our co-workers knew Wow-How Studios from a “networking meet-up” and suggested to take a look at their portfolio.

We contacted all of them, explained what we were looking for, and were then able to narrow down our list. Wow-How Studio sent us over their show-real and created a pilot for us. Their fast and clear communication together with the amazing animations they create made us wanting to work together and seeing what this holds for the future.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

After agreeing on working together we first had communication about our product and their possibilities. From our side, we provided design assets, our brand guidelines, and a briefing with some specific UA rules. Wow-How Studios started with the design process.

They sent over their created content step by step starting with a timeline, a storyboard, and a style example. From there they developed the animation for us and gave us the possibility to provide feedback in between every design-phases. 

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

For communication, we always have the same person to rely on which works well. Per project, we work with different animators. This depends on their workload of course but also gives us the chance to discover new styles. During all projects, we communicated with the business development manager and the animator. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Until now the animations that we got from Wow-How helped us generating a higher CTI for our apps. We get a lot of positive feedback from the people who saw the video and see our panel numbers improving.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow between App Annie and Wow-How worked really well. Since all contact goes true one of their managers we can always rely on a fast reply and they always know what we are talking about and what we worked together on in the past. This experience helps for better communication.

The steps they take to be able to come to a result are very clear and Wow-How is secure with pointing out a deadline and sending examples for feedback on our side. They deliver what they promise.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The work well together and make it all super easy to communicate with us despite the distance.

We hired Wow-How to help us regarding the animation for an explainer video for our NGO Project. We already had first experiences in working together with Wow-How, so we had a feeling how to work together. From our side, there was no big challenge at the starting point.

What were your goals for this project?

We were looking for a simple and flat animation style. Focused on explaining our slightly complicated services in the easy to understand kind of way. But also with a touch of emotion. Because it´s quite an emotional topic.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I called Wow-How because I knew what to expect and I love their way of communication and workflow. Sometimes they are too fast for me in a positive way!

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

At the beginning of the project we delivered a first raw script and storyboard. From this point on, Wow-How took over step by step. From Character Design, proposal of an overall up to the storyboard. And finally, after some minor inputs from our side, the final animation including a demo voice over and a music proposal was delivered. The process was exactly as planned and suspected.

What was the team composition?

Most of the time we were communication with our WoW-How producer, in terms of production and with my lead contact in terms of business and further communcation. Main communication was between 2 persons from WoW-how and 2 from our side.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are still working on finishing and publishing the project at the moment.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

As already mentioned, I would always prefer working with Wow-How because of their workflow and great communication and creation skills. Scheduling and management is also great.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

From day one, and every day since, I have been treated perfectly as a customer. It feels like people from Wow-How really care about their customers and their projects. For me it´s all about trust and communication. And that´s the point, why I will always return to Wow-How.

I searched for designers both online and offline. Wow-How won the contract because they were the company with the best price, turn around time, and experience.

Once the contract was signed, we were given excellent direction for the best way to work through the design process. They reviewed our storyboard and synopsis and gave us their creative input on how to make it better. There were a number of rounds of revision as we went through the process and we ended up with a great video.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

The project management process was outlined both in the contract as well as before we started. It was very clear what that process would be. We were given a link to a new video in every stage of the process and the user interface had a timecoded editing and commenting function built into it.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video was well received by my team and it served as a great tool to bring people to our booth for more in depth conversations. We will now use the video as a marketing tool to help explain our products.

We had few offers, and we asked vendors to show us not only the budget for their work, but to share some creative ideas as well. WowHow Studio had very interesting vision of the video, and the price was comfortable for us, so we choose them as our vendor for further cooperation.

The big advantage was, that the partners understood well how our product works, who is our target audience and how we should talk with them. Thats why it was very easy to communicate with them. So they provided us storyboard and they accepted all the comments from our Design and Marketing team. We gave them all the materials, logo and guidelines, so they can use it in their work.

Their team was working on animation, and we have few rounds. We started with the characters (approved all of them), and then - moved forward to next rounds.

Unfortunately we cannot share the results in public, but we had very good feedback from our customers about this video. It was quite funny, creative and very professional.

We had a very clear timeline and all the communication process was absolutely great. Mostly we were working with one managing person from the vendors' side - and it made the process very easy and productive.

They are creative, fast and very good in communications with the partners. I was impressed, how quickly they reacted during our cooperation.

At the end we had some small issues with the video formats and preparation for different Tv-channels but we solve id successfully.
