If I'm being completely honest (and fair reviews should be), our experience with Wirebox has been overwhelmingly positive – easily one of the best agency partnerships we've had in 20+ years of building and scaling brands globally. That said, no relationship is ever 100% flawless, and there are a couple of very minor areas where things could have been even smoother:

Initial scoping and feasibility checks On one or two occasions early in the project, we got quite far into wireframes or detailed design discussions only to discover that a particular approach we'd fallen in love with wasn't fully feasible within the original timeline or budget (usually because of third-party API limitations or edge-case performance issues we hadn't anticipated). It wasn't a big deal – they always found a solid Plan B quickly – but a slightly more rigorous "technical sanity check" right after the creative brainstorm stage would have saved a few rework cycles. In hindsight, that's probably on us for pushing some ambitious ideas hard and fast too!
Documentation depth for hand-off to internal teams The code quality and architecture are excellent (clean, well-commented Laravel that any senior dev can jump into), but because we're a creative-led group rather than heavily technical in-house, we would have loved even more "plain-English" walkthrough docs or short Loom videos for some of the more bespoke parts of the platform. They happily provided extra sessions when we asked, so again this is minor and more about our own team's makeup than anything Wirebox did wrong.
Honestly, those are the only two things that come to mind after nearly two years – and both were resolved quickly and professionally. Everything else (delivery speed, proactive support, security obsession, value for money) has been genuinely faultless. We're still thrilled with the platform they built for https://upl.group/ and have already extended the retainer for ongoing work. If you're expecting perfection on day one with zero iteration, nothing in agency life works that way – but Wirebox come closer than anyone else we've worked with. Still a rock-solid 9.8/10 from us!

Our work with Wirebox is ongoing, with new requirements coming up regularly over time. They are prioritised, analysed and implemented by the Wirebox team. These range from simple fixes and changes, to complex structural requirement changes.

The project management overall is not visible to us, which is as it should be. We generally get the output we need when we need it, and on occasions when an urgent requirement comes up, Wirebox always manage to assign someone to the issue within our timescales.

They are very flexible. We provide ongoing work, but with no gaurantee of this continuing - though it has for a number of years now. Despite the lack of a formal commitment from us, they always get the job done on time.

Challenges included the volume of imagery and content along with the complexity of information required. Capturing data was key objective for the project so the team created and intuitive, content driven app that captured information within a cart functionality for efficiencies including admin time for sales team.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the founder of Blue Lemons, a marketing consultancy working with high growth tech companies.

For what projects/services did your company hire Wirebox Ltd, and what were your goals?

We hired Wirebox to work on a number of our clients' sites to improve their speed and overall functionality. Depending on the client we were looking for a 10% to 50% increase in speed.

How did you select Wirebox Ltd and what were the deciding factors?

We shortlisted a number of web development agencies in London and Wirebox won the pitch due to their obvious expertise and credibility in this space, plus their reasonable prices. They are also a really nice team, so it's a pleasure working together.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had a kick off meeting for each client project to agree the KPI's we wanted to achieve and then Wirebox put a roadmap in place to deliver all of the optimisation. All of the sites were Wordpress sites.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked with Andrew (founder), John (head of sales) and the web development team, overall it was a really great experience with a very knowledgeable team.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The team hit all of our KPI's and in some cases went beyond them. We were extremely impressed.

Every project transitioned smoothly, on time and on budget, all with excellent communication throughout. We always knew where we were on the roadmap and where we were heading next.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The results. Wirebox achieved more for our clients, faster, and at better rates than any other agency we have worked with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, we were very happy throughout.
