Disrupting The Recruitment Industry Through Ethical Hiring
Wirebox developed the website and portal utilising the popular PHP Framework Laravel which was the proposed solution due to its ability to handle extremely complex processes.
Currently there are £15,000 worth of donations on the portal ready and waiting, with around 7-8 companies signed up and actively hiring.
Wirebox learned that there are always new ways to help companies achieve their corporate social responsibilities, and we were proud to have developed Network 14 to make a difference.
Our Approach Delivered:
- A disruptive portal which focuses on ethical hiring which could change the shape of the recruitment industry
- A new way for employers to go through the hiring process whilst cutting down hiring costs as they had full control over the fee they paid
- Allowing candidates make more use of their business network by requiring a sponsor to progress towards an interview.
Developing and supporting the Fintech’s charity which has raised over 22 million for charities.
- Target Tier 1 – Tier 2 merchants Pennies in the past were held back when trying to get their API integrated into large retailers. Many of their systems, have long roadmaps and the testing is extreme.
- With the new API which was tested and proved to be redundant, it had a lot less chance off affecting the retailers main e-commerce functionality
- Target Tier 1 – Tier 2 merchants The new API was tested and benchmarked using a variety of testing platforms including Apache Bench. The system was tested to able to handle 1200 donations a second which would allow about 10 Millions donations a day.
- Improved Reporting Reporting improved dramatically, different users could access the reports and more details on the reports were able to be exported from the system.
- Performance increase With the infrastructure change, the API was faster as well as more redundant. With monitoring on each system, Database, Web server, etc. The systems could be checked and notified of any issues
Developing custom database solutions
- New system architecture and deployment Wirebox setup the new system architecture for Mr Clutch digital systems which included creating software deployment processes and delivery. This enabled Mr Clutch to release new features rapidly without affecting the live site, as all development was tested beforehand.
- Increase in Bookings The new website was developed following best practice procedures for development processes, which included, Wireframing, Prototyping and testing. This gave us great confidence that the transition would generate strong improvements. From the launch of the website, Mr Clutch had an increase in sales and conversions for all their services online of over 30%. Sales were not previously tracked efficiently, the business can now see instantly how each branch is performing – or where there is availability to directly target specific services in specific locations. Key performance Indicators (KPI’s) such as time on site, bounce rate and the number of pages viewed by visit has all increased. These improved KPI’s have been viewed by search engines such as Google – welcomed by Google and as such provided improved rankings on search terms and increased traffic and business.
- Rapid Development With the new systems in place, Mr Clutch were able to develop new features faster. Creating a new marketing campaign for Groupon or Black Friday took days, instead of months. This was mainly due to the latest technology used, which enabled new features to be developed inside of the framework.
- Development of new Digital Diary System Mr Clutch were using Excel and paper forms to manage the booking schedules for vehicles in branch. As a business, Mr Clutch was drowning in what we described as “Excel Hell”. Data was not shared – no one individual within the company had an idea of capacity or the availability of different locations. How can a marketing professional promote something where they were unaware of what was possible throughout the company? With the new infrastructure, the Digital Diary could be built as it could talk to all systems in the company. The online bookings, the CRM system and the POS system, talking to one central database. The Diary revolutionised the business, and improved efficiency 10 fold. Finally the company could align its marketing and sales to the capacity of each branch.
ALICE (Automatic Login for Clients and Enquiries) App Development
Wirebox designed ALICE (Automatic Login for Clients and Enquiries). The system gives users 3 options, allowing them to check-in, book an appointment, or make an enquiry. Booking an appointment or making an enquiry involves filling in a form with your details and in the case of an enquiry the message, which is then submitted to the main receptionist, who oversees the branches in multiple locations. In the case of checking in, you find your appointment which is recorded in the database and then your practitioner is emailed to notify them of your arrival.
There are several benefits of this system for Perfect Balance. It means that only one receptionist is required for the numerous branches, who can run these different receptions centrally, saving on time and resources. It also means that users can interact with a simple and accessible app which puts them in control. The app is formatted to be functional as well as aesthetically pleasing, with clear and intuitive graphics. The iPads in the receptions are constantly on ‘kiosk mode’ so that only the app can be used.
Middlesex University Graduate Platform
The Project Included:
- Build for ease of use, there was no time to train or buddy students to load Profiles, Projects or Content – this needed to work without training Graduates or Administrators of the site
- Wireframe the site with a functional specification
- Utilisation of Laravel – to develop the bespoke platform for scalability & adaptability and future use. This was to be the first year this platform was to be used, but not the last
- QA analysis by our in-house testing team against the project documentation to ensure the platform performed as expected.
- Numerous stakeholder meetings & a brief training session on the platform
- User Guides and documentation, Student Guide, Approver User Guide.
Global site for FTSE 250 ECommerce multi territory
The new Bulgin website was launched in December, 2018. The content pages in WordPress allow a Bulgin “admin” user to manage content across the multisite territory – changing content for the Australian site is as simple as amending job roles in the US site.
Products are displayed and is integrating with distributors’ stock holding, so clients looking for large quantity of products are served with the most relevant distributor in terms of availability and location of the user via the “Distributor stock search”.
A secure sign in section for Distributors was also created, allowing additional content and training material through the Distributor portal.

We were working together with a Wirebox business analyst who was talking to a local UK client and getting requirements from them. Based on the requirements gathered our developers were creating solutions for the end customer.

We took over solution that was already partially developed by end customers developers and analyzed it. We gathered requirements from the client to understand his priorities and main challenges. Wirebox BA was actively collaborating wit us and end customer to make sure all requirements are gathered and understood. After this we started developing and delivering solutions by iterations (sprints). There were releases almost every month for more then 6 years for this project as result as collaboration turned out to be very productive and successful for both us and end customer.

Their BA was our main point of contact and the only entry point to gather customers' feedback. During one year we were additionally collaborating with developer from the Wirebox side (but that was not long)

Based on collaborative work we were able to satisfy customer requirements together. As result, we got a happy end customer

I’m the marketing manager of Mr Clutch Autocentres, and we’re an automotive garage chain based in the UK. We have over 40 branches nationwide offering various car repairs and services.

Wirebox Ltd redesigned our website and created a Bespoke internal system that all of our branches can utilize. We currently have a monthly retainer with them where they provide us with website maintenance and updating.
The system was built using Laravel and PHP and they’ve also provided us with website security and scan.

Our work with Wirebox is ongoing, with new requirements coming up regularly over time. They are prioritised, analysed and implemented by the Wirebox team. These range from simple fixes and changes, to complex structural requirement changes.

The project management overall is not visible to us, which is as it should be. We generally get the output we need when we need it, and on occasions when an urgent requirement comes up, Wirebox always manage to assign someone to the issue within our timescales.

They are very flexible. We provide ongoing work, but with no gaurantee of this continuing - though it has for a number of years now. Despite the lack of a formal commitment from us, they always get the job done on time.

Occasionally the deliverables fall short of the requirements, or we have lengthy design discussions wherein the end it turns out the originally proposed design wasn't feasible. However this is rare.

Firstly we had a discover session with all involved. Wirebox attended and technically lead. Their input from the start was invaluable. Working seamlessly with their project managers and developers kept the project on track throughout the key milestones. Communication and their progressive thinking was a true advantage as we unfolded the project and process. The team designed and engineered an App for this specific solution.
Challenges included the volume of imagery and content along with the complexity of information required. Capturing data was key objective for the project so the team created and intuitive, content driven app that captured information within a cart functionality for efficiencies including admin time for sales team.

A project manager was a main point of contact however the owner remained very close to the project to ensure we had the right skill set around the table for key decisions. Their team of developers were then behind the build which together kept everyone aligned on expectations and project deliverables.

After launching the sales tool the response was fantastic. It then got better as feedback from customers started to trip feed in. The project was a big success from a business and team on the ground perspective.
