Please describe your company and your position there.

Loose Lips Magazine is an arts + culture publication covering women and non-binary folks in Vancouver and beyond. I am the editor in chief and co-founder of the magazine!

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire White Canvas Design, and what were your goals?

Our website was a canned wordpress theme that we started more than 7 years ago. It was time for an update to optimize our site for both readability and design, but also to have the capacity for hosting advertisements. We also added an e-commerce widget to it!

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched for developers and designers, and picked White Canvas over a couple other options. We were so impressed with the customer service that came during our decision period!

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had a few exploratory calls, then were sent some wireframes, spots for copy, and several back and forth communications where WCD ensured that all of our needs were taken care of as they pertained to the pages we wanted to see, the widgets were functional and useful, and then finally an educational walk through on how to use our beautiful new site!

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Four folks, including a designer and developer!

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have not quite had time to measure them yet, but we are getting clicks to our ads and reads!

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We communicated mostly over email, but were very appreciative of the project management - Ashley was quick, prompt and totally on the ball with this project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Not only is it exactly what we were looking for, we appreciated their professionalism and patience as we took time to get them materials and were figuring out how to use the site!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not that we can see, yet! We are still in the early phases of using our site!

I am a realtor, operating a small real estate team with a partner.

For what projects/services did your company hire White Canvas Design?

We initially hired White Canvas to assist with the rebranding of our business. The existing brand was built around the founding member, but we were looking to expand our business and reach a new demographic. Following the rebrand, we began working with White Canvas for social media content creation to help build a cohesive connection between what people saw in-person and online.

How did you select this vendor?

I noticed White Canvas on Instagram several years ago due to their eye-catching minimalist aesthetic. When I needed help with a print campaign, I reached out to them. Upon meeting with Carly, I realized she was not only creative, but extremely detailed and organized. The print campaign went flawlessly and I didn’t hesitate to contact them for branding years later.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

The process started with an exploration call and based off that information they put together an initial branding presentation. After my partner and I decided to move forward with the project I met with White Canvas to discuss vision, business goals and story. We reworked some ideas from the initial meeting and discussed brand strategy at the second meeting. The brand draft was then presented and I was given the opportunity to discuss the concepts and provide feedback. Upon approval of the design concepts, the final brand kit was delivered.

What was the team composition?

For the branding project I worked closely with Carly (founder & creative director) and Sarah (graphic designer). Ashley (client relations) and Manisha have been working on social creation, with Carly included on the planning components.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Quantitative results are unknown at this time as the project has just recently been completed.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Working with White Canvas it was extremely easy to communicate and schedule meetings. Carly’s Calendly schedule eliminated any back-and-forth when it came to scheduling an appointment. They were flexible and accommodated both in-person and Zoom meetings.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The presentation they created showed me they truly listened to what I was saying. They were extremely intuitive. The White Canvas team has been extremely welcoming and continues to be a pleasure to work with; they value relationships that extend beyond the completion of a project.

Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?

I loved every part of the experience and don't have any suggestions for improvement.
