I’m the CTO and co-founder of Payment Labs, a payment solutions company. We focus on startups and help them deal with payout procedures involving cross-border transactions, tax compliance, financial compliance regulation, and everything in between.

We wanted to offer as different options for the payees as possible since not everyone wanted to get paid through bank transfers. Our plan was to include pre-paid debit cards, gift cards, PayPal, Venmo, or Crypto.

Webisoft helped us with blockchain development to create an onramp from Fiat to Cryptocurrency. The platform they created also allowed us to further develop more features ourselves in the future. In terms of technologies, they built the platform using Go and Python and did Node.js TypeScript coding.

The platform that Webisoft created helped us automate our processes without human intervention. It also allowed our users to select their preferred payment method. For instance, choosing Cryptocurrency gives the option to make transactions from Fiat to Bitcoin or Ethereum to receive it in their digital wallet afterward.

How did Webisoft perform from a project management standpoint?

Webisoft's team stayed on budget and within timelines. Additionally, I could throw work at them, and they'd figure it out and take care of it because they were very proactive and responsive. Regarding tools and communication, we used Slack, email, Zoom, Google Meet, texts, Jira, and Trello — they adapted to whatever made it easier for me.

Webisoft's management and style of approaching the project were impressive. We didn't have to give them step-by-step instructions and be very detailed because they knew what to do as soon as I asked them for something.

Our core product and services are specifically revolving around creating Smart Contracts that can run on the decentralized blockchain, and we needed experts that could efficiently and securely create our programs and assist us through the Security Auditing process. They developed our Smart Contract in both Rust and Solidity, and were able to provide us support while we went through our auditing process. The final products were both onchain with the smart contracts themselves, as well as off chain with the dApp, API, and mongodb structure.

There were a total of four individuals that we ended up working with, with two acting as project managers, one as the dedicated Contract developer, and a third developer whom helped us connect our ReactJS dApp to the chain and make necessary updates and optimizations.

Weibosft kept us abreast of their development statuses and were quick to be able to provide us with a working demo to see the contract and dApp in action. When questions popped up or changes were requested, they were on point ready to make those ideas come to life.

We communicated with Webisoft mainly over Telegram with a few introductory meetings to describe the project and its intended end goals. After choosing to move forward with them, we kept to an update at least once or twice during the sprint and Webisoft was always available instantly over Telegram to answer questions as they arose. Each sprint was set at 2 weeks, for two sprints per month.

I felt that we had direct access to both the team actively working on the project, as well as with management. The entire experience was with a group of professionals whom were always approachable and understanding in the vision that we had.

We hadn't had any areas that were concerning for us and needed improvements on. Webisoft provided us documentation that explained everything we needed, and they provided us with necessary tests and apis for validation and integration.

To their credit, once we shared that feedback, they acted quickly to revise and even used it to improve their internal process for future projects.

I remember one particular workshop where their lead blockchain architect broke down a potential risk vector in our loyalty token model and helped us rework it into something far more elegant and compliant.

If there’s one area that could be fine-tuned, it would be providing more training resources post-deployment. While the system was well documented, some guided onboarding sessions for our non-technical team members would’ve made the handover even smoother. That said, once we brought this up, they quickly responded with walk-through videos and knowledge base articles, which closed the gap nicely.
