We believe as of now all is well, maybe in future, we can come up with some points which they need to improve on.

webdew’s work is for an alcohol business that wanted to describe the manufacturing process of their product using animation. They showed the different steps of their distillation process, and we’re producing several videos that show every phase of it. I provide webdew with illustrations, and they animate them into 10–15 second clips.

I measure the success of their work by the quality of the animation, their communication skills, and their deadline accomplishment.

How did webdew perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s been excellent; they meet all the deadlines we set and are always communicative about every aspect of the project. We’ve never had any problems with responsiveness, even though there’s a time difference; they’re always online and answer any inquiries immediately. 

Regarding communication and tools, we use Upwork and Frame.io, which help keep track of the project updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their level of communication and prompt attention to our requests are outstanding. The quality of their work is also excellent, and we’re impressed by it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — I’m pleased with their work, and I’m looking forward to continuing working with them.

Be as descriptive and transparent as possible with your requirements. Ensure that you provide a detailed brief with helpful visual references like images and videos.

I could it easy to communicate with Webdew, specifically Chehak. I was concerned about language barriers, but there were none.

No from my experience. They did accomplish everything we asked for in the timeframe we needed.

We were trying to demonstrate how our product works and how efficient it is compared to contemporary door-installing methods.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we sent diagrams and our website to give a better idea of the overall look and color of the product. We also sent videos of conventional ways to do installations so they’d understand how ours is different. They captured our requirements through correspondence, and webdew produced an animated minute-and-a-half video.

I only worked with Chehak (Co-Founder & COO).

I picked them up on Upwork. I put up a post saying I needed an animated video, and Chehak was one of the firsts to respond. We had a low budget to work with, and webdew was able to work within it.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in July, and we wrapped up in August 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Compared to what we’ve seen online, the work measured up to the standard. The quality was just spot on. The video was very professional, and what they provided was more than what we could’ve hoped for.

How did webdew perform from a project management standpoint?

They met every deadline. We had to extend the delivery because we were too busy to review some of the drafts they sent us, but the delay was on our end.

We communicated and did everything through Upwork.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were efficient, punctual, and highly affordable. Also, their punctuality with the timeline was outstanding, and it was really easy to deal with them. It was a stress-free process from our end.

Nothing comes to mind. It was the first time we engaged in something like this, but they were pretty good at everything.

Lay out your plan from the beginning so you can give them a better idea before you go ahead. It’ll eliminate any confusion as the process begins and continues, which is why our project was so streamlined.

From there, we provided an outline of any screen recordings that they needed for that. Next, the team compiled that information and provided that video. They provided a list of music we could go through. They sent a link to our video in a way where we could put our comments or edits. We sent back any modifications we wanted, and they polished it until we arrived at the final version.

We hired Webdew to create a highly engaging, 1 minute 2D explainer video targeting athletes and the business-side of sports.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I ended up going with Webdew because of their ability to understand the ask and the timeframe in which they were able to complete the video.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

After the kickoff, I shared the recorded voiceover so that Webdew could understand the messaging. From there, we were sent a story board 3-4 days later. There were a few back and forths on some requested changes that were easy to convey and see results very quickly. After we agreed on the story board, in less than a week, there was a 1st pass of the video. Webdew was very open and responsive to feedback and after 4 revs, we were sent the finished product that the GMDY team is very happy with.

We worked with a single point of contact at Webdew. I believe that this contact completed all aspects of the project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

It is still too early to tell any results from the completed project, however, we expect to reach many more prospects as this explainer video will help tell our story.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

All communication after an initial phone screen was done via a chat platform. I would expect a message when I woke up in the morning due to the time difference and I was able to respond and expect less than 24 hour turn around from the team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were really impressed by how quickly they respond.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

If anything, provide your expertise within the project. Often times, these projects are coming from a place of limited experience and we don't always have the right answer. Have an opinion and push back if you don't think the ask is appropriate.
