The video moves through our main 4 functions with a mixture of scenes and views of our app. We had an initial meeting to discuss the project, followed by a storyboard review and then edits of a final animation until we reached what we were looking for.

We worked with Chehak who would provide an edit, we would provide feedback at timestamps and she would update the video.

I looked for video production companies led by South Asians on Upwork. I interviewed 5 candidates and selected Webdew.

We had a discovery meeting, then shared the script. We uploaded existing content on a Google folder including logos. We also shared the voice-overs. Webdew used our content and script to create the storyboard. I provided feedback on each frame. Feedback was implemented and a second round of review was conducted. After that the animation was shared and I provided feedback in 2 rounds. The background music was chosen and then final video was produced. Payment was may 50% before project started and 50% when it was completed.

We wanted to produce an animated video that shows how our technology works, to help potential clients understand. The process has many steps and uses many smaller pieces of equipment within the system. We hoped an animation could simplify everything and make it understandable.

We chose this vendor because we liked the style of their previous work.

We first submitted a storyboard and equipment photographs and diagrams to the vendor. Then we had a video call where we sketched out how the different pieces were integrated and how we wanted to see it animated. The vendor began to digitize the images and scenes, and came back to show us the still images first to see if we were ok with the style and the level of detail.

We would have a video call to review these images together so that the vendor understood clearly what our recommendations and comments referred to. Often within a few days, those revisions had been made and we began on a new round of revisions, until we reached a stage where we were happy with the final animation.

I worked with Chehak and she was very responsive to all my messages and comments. It was her suggestion to have video calls while describing the changes we wanted, and she recorded these calls. I think this was a really good idea. It is a complex technology, but she did a great job understanding what we wanted to communicate.

The video that was produced is exactly what we imagined we were going to get. We have not put the video in use yet, but it is our hope that this will greatly simplify our sales process and really cut down on our sales cycle time, which is a big limiting factor for us at this moment.

Chehak was extremely responsive to all my messages and always very courteous and professional. In reality, it was Chehak who kept me on task if I didn't respond to her requests for revisions in a timely manner.

In retrospect, I might have liked to see a few different styles for the animation at the start of the project to choose from, but I'm sure that if I had asked, they would have been willing to do so.

A couple days later, she provided us with a first look at the story board allowing us to gauge how well she understood the project. In the end, she delivered a 1:15 video that shows off our features and use of the product.

We looked for different video production companies online and on Upwork. After reviewing a few options, we decided to go with Webdew because of its wide range of examples under their portfolio.

We started with the introductory round, where the sales rep from webdew introduced us to the project manager and team, whom we will be working with. Then over the course of the next weeks, we kept in contact with them via slack, where they would provide us with the material (storyboard, scriptwriting, voice over animation) and we would give feedback. They would then adjust accordingly.

We worked the project manager, who was always present to ensure the whole process is going smooth. We also worked with the animator, who was responsible in delivering the deliverables at the end of each milestones. They shared their work via frame.io, which was super convinient as it allows us to write feedback directly on certain timestamps. Overall, the process was easy because we were all always in contact via slack, so everyone is aware on the current status of the project.

We have only currently showed the video to our colleagues and they liked it. They were able to understand the software easily and they liked the animation style as well.

The webdew team was very easy to communicate with. They provided us with frequent updates and were very transparent. We mainly only chat via slack, however, for feedbacks or topics that require deeper communication, we would jump in a call to avoid any miscommunications. They were always fast and flexible when it comes to organizing meetings, which is great!

How easy it is that they were able to understand what kind of product video animation/style we wanted, which shows their expertise as a video production company.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They could maybe spend a bit more time understanding the software and the main industry we are in, however, we understand that it is indeed a very complex topic that would require a lot of time to get used to.

I provide the elements of our logo and described what I was looking for. We went back and forth on the different animated elements and the horn beep which was critical to get one with the right tone. She worked with me throughout the whole process.

Everyone was delighted with the results. Now that our start up has finally launched, I've come back to her for a tweak to the animation background. With this change, the animation will be use throughout our marketing strategy across the country.

I’m a marketing associate at a technology company. We have a platform that helps businesses match supply and demand. What challenge were you trying to address with webdew?

Over the summer of 2021, we went through an identity change. We previously had some marketing videos, but when we made the change, we couldn’t use them anymore because they had our former name. Thus, we hired webdew to create an introductory video for our company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’d had the idea for our video for months, so we came in with a script, but webdew helped us prepare it, making it fit for an explanatory video. After that, they helped us prepare a storyboard, going through a storyboarding process to ensure that it was right for what we wanted.

Since then, we’ve worked with them on creating the animated video. We had decided it to be a whiteboard video, so webdew’s involvement has included a lot of animation, as well as voiceover and musicalization. During this last process, we’ve been iterating, making edits and changes as needed.

Our engagement took a three-week pause because our executive leadership needed to work on refining the language we want to use. Webdew was okay with letting us take a pause, and after re-engaging, webdew was still there to help us through the rest of the video.

What is the team composition?

I’m not sure how many people from webdew have been working on our project. I know that we have an entire team assigned to it, but I’ve only interacted with a service manager.

How did you come to work with webdew?

We had our heart set on a whiteboard video, so we looked on Clutch to see reviews of various companies and found webdew. We also did a Google search to see what other companies had to offer in the explanatory whiteboard videos space, but we ultimately settled on webdew.

We’ve spent around $2,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We've been working with Webdew from January 2022 through the beginning of March 2022. We had to put the project on break for a few weeks in February due to my company making sure we had some language correct, but we are just about to wrap up the project at the start of March, which we are pleased with.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Given that we don’t have the finished video, we don’t have any customer feedback yet. However, our CEO is very satisfied with what we’ve seen so far.

How did webdew perform from a project management standpoint?

Although we’ve had to double clarify some aspects we want to see on our video, webdew has been very professional and helpful, and our collaboration has been seamless. webdew uses Frame.io for our collaboration, where we can see the current project state and leave comments in real-time. Additionally, we communicate via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

webdew’s collaboration distinguishes them from other providers. I worked with other providers in the past, and it was difficult to follow the project by just sending emails back and forth. Having the ability to collaborate so seamlessly through their project management tool has been very helpful.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be good if we didn’t have to re-clarify what we want. However, this issue has happened on a few occasions, and it is not of significant importance.

Be prepared and make sure that you know what you want; it will help smooth the collaboration. webdew has a helpful team, but it is better to come in prepared.

We needed WebDew to make an introductory video for our Company (Epona) and our latest product DMS for Teams.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Our USA Office Lead found Webdew through an internet search of high quality service providers in the space.

There was the initial discovery process, where we shared our requirements. This was followed by a process wherein we shared by way of PowerPoints what we wanted in the video. Webdew took that data, and video-ized it. We also used a third party platform to take video screen captures, to insert "insertions" into the video storyboards that they provided to us. After all of this process, they provided us with a sample for review. We were given one "revision".

One revision may seem like a small amount but considering the inexpensiveness of the project, it was a fantastic price, and a phenomenal value. That revision was limited for us because the work was spot on. They did the revision, we paid the bill, they then provided the final work without watermark and the rest is a happy history. We highly recommend Webdew.

My team leader (Stacey) worked with Reaz Sabbir and Sandeep Kumar. Both were excellent. I also worked with them both. The feedback process with frictionless and quick.

Both Reaz and Sandeep were quick to provide their knowledge of the process when we would refer to sections of the video like: "There were logos" that were not making sense and needed to move in a different way, or "the logos that were there" need to be replaced, and they completely knew exactly what were talking about and didnt need to be shown. They knew exactly what we wanted, which was excellent.

Their management style was: Customer focused, listen then provide. It was ideal for client focused outcomes. The project would have been done faster if WE HAD done what we said quicker. We were the bottleneck, they were excellent and fast.

They were not only efficient, they were cost effective and friendly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Frankly, no. I would change nothing. If they keep doing what they are doing, they will be huge!!! Five of Five stars!!! I highly recommend Webdew, and we will be back again.
