We were looking for a digital marketing firm that understood our niche and could help translate that into our vision and help us reach the right clients. We also needed help cleaning up what we had been doing with a previous firm. We needed a team that understood who we were and helped us develop a strategy that would deliver results.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, Voltage audited our website and is helping us with SEO and PPC. For three months, they went through everything we had been doing and identified ways we could reach our goals and improve our visibility.

Since then, we’ve started implementing their findings. They’ve cleaned up broken pages and content that was cluttering our website. They’re also working on a better UX for our site to help create a funnel, which we didn’t have before.

Voltage has looked at our current keywords and made recommendations. They’ve taken the time to talk to us and get to know who we are as a company and what our goals are. They’ve created a strategy that includes the right keywords to put us in touch with the right clients for our services.

Additionally, they’re helping us with website maintenance and development, as well as with our digital media. We’re locked into a design, but they’re working within that to find creative solutions. We might need to display our portfolio better or create landing pages for the PPC ads.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re seeing better results and getting more qualified leads. We’ve gotten as many qualified leads in the past six months as we did in an entire year with our old firm.

Voltage is responsive and delivers on time. We have a weekly Zoom call and communicate via email and phone calls as needed.

Voltage is great. They’re knowledgeable and use data to inform their decisions. They make informed decisions and use what they can to make these decisions, which usually helps us improve our goals.

No, we’re really satisfied with them.

The process of doing an audit is really important. It’ll help define what Voltage can do for you so everyone’s on the same page. You should also read the book that Voltage’s owner wrote. If you’re clear about your expectations and communicate them to Voltage, they’ll develop a plan that meets your goals. Communication is very important.

The team has given us a thorough project plan outlining the project’s cost and timeline. After approving the design, we’ve moved into the development phase and gone live. For key technologies, they’ve used Figma for the design process and WordPress for the development phase.

We’ve seen an increase in web traffic and leads generated. Overall, Voltage’s work has met our expectations — they’ve done a great job.

We've had a relationship with Voltage for three years. They're in Kansas City, so, originally, one of our marketing managers had a relationship with them and referred them. They did some projects for us previously, and we were impressed with them.

Recently, we asked them to put a proposal together on what the terms would be and what sort of activities they could perform on our behalf if we were to outsource all of our marketing activities to them. We were impressed with the proposal, so we selected them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of Voltage's work has been outstanding; that's why we've picked them to take over our marketing function. We anticipate improvements in our marketing KPIs, such as our marketing costs, efficiency, and the caliber of the applicants we attract, but all those results are yet to be seen.

How did Voltage perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything they've done for us to date has been on time and on budget or ahead of time and below budget. We communicate via phone calls, emails, and Zoom. Voltage also uses a couple of other tools, including an appropriate technology dashboard, to collaborate with my marketing manager.

Niven is a very strong performer and understands our business very well. He came up with a proposal that caused us to want to count on them to do our marketing activities for us. He's a very capable marketing leader.

Voltage is a really reputable and strong marketing firm. Over the last few years, they've been an impressive organization, which is why we've switched from doing project-based work to hiring them as our outsourcing partner.

Website Development

• The Voltage creative team leveraged new branding and product development divisions and assets to create a new website user experience and interface that clearly defined products and services and provides our users with an easy and efficient way to traverse the marketing/conversion funnel.
• After this, the Voltage development team integrated the approved website design into a modern and user-friendly technology stack that leveraged a self-hosted custom installation of WordPress as a content management system (CMS).

Process and Deliverables from Voltage
The following list is a roadmap of deliverables Voltage completed throughout the duration of our agreement, and highlight key inputs, outputs, and tactics that they leveraged.

• Strategy Development. This foundational process was key for creating the plan that they used as a blueprint to build from. It focused on our goals for communications, branding, content, website design and development, and set all following phases to work up for success.

This included:

• Discovery. Initial session(s) for information exchange, brainstorming, and identifying project goals, roles, logistics, and website requirements.
• Site Architecture. 
• Outline for information, content, and website architecture to guide content management and URL structure.
• Site Requirements Document. This strategy documented the culmination of all work done to a specfic point and acted as the project roadmap moving forward.

• After approval of the Site Requirements Document, Voltage creative team designed layouts and accompanying assets.

Website Development
After design concepts and designs were approved, Voltage’s development team developed all pages, layouts, and components necessary to implement the user interface. 

• They made sure development of approved pages and layouts were in alignment with the content, and functionality requirements.

They developed specified, documented functionality, including:

• Google Tag Manager integration which facilitated third-party vendor data transfers to platforms like Google Analytics and other digital marketing platforms.
• Google AdSense integration for revenue generation.
• User registration and login functionality.
• Curated content browsing based on user interests and keywords (for users with an account).
• Videos uploaded through the website and hosted externally through YouTube API.
• Use of search-optimized CSS3 and HTML5 with graceful degradation for older browsers.
• Inclusion/use of the jQuery javascript library for dynamic front-end functionality.

Website Accessibility
A review of the website by Voltage’s creative team
evaluated the accessibility of the any and all pages, layouts, and components.

• Design utilizing WCAG 2.0 Level AA standard for colors, size/spacing of UX elements, and overall layout.
• They developed our approved designs to meet the accessibility standard, testing, and validation through Google Lighthouse (or equivalent tools) for launch.

Quality Assurance and Deployment. 
A final review by both the Voltage creative team and development team ensured the website met design specifications and website development standards. Device, OS, and browser compatibility testing included:

We reviewed on staging and adjustments/updates were made prior to launch. Voltage completed a “go live” checklist and best practices which included the actual deployment and post-launch testing/support. We reviewed and Voltage updated (within scope, formatting, functionality, content, etc) for up to 20-days post-launch.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

ProStyl Sports objective was to have a video sharing website and mobile version designed, coded and built that would allow sports and fitness enthusiast to use online.  There were milestones and timelines and Voltage met each one. And in the end, Voltage delivered a website, IOS and Android versions of ProStyl Sports video sharing platform that is now growing traffic exponentially.  Equally important, because of Voltages work with setting the platform up for Google AdSense, we have started to generate revenue just 2 weeks after launching!

Their project management completely exceeded our expectations.  Mike not only exceeded our expectations with the site design but he amazed us by adding features to our website that we never thought of.  His experience, design skills are unmatched!  Nick always provided updates on the progress of the project as he coded the website and explained what they were doing and why they were doing it.  
He also answered every question we had either the same day or the very next business day throughout the entire time and even now! Nick even emailed us on Sunday morning June 30th to inform us that the Apple Store had accepted us.  Zach went way above and beyond to insure that we were setup for Google AdSense.  If it were not for Zach's foresight, planning and taking action with Google, we know that we would not be generating the revenue we're currently receiving.

We brought in Voltage as our digital partner based on years of success with other clients. We took over the account from another digital firm that had failed to deliver a pair of websites in a timely manner and had made no progress in other marketing areas. 

Voltage then delivered a pair of innovative and well-engineered e-commerce and lead gen sites on time and on budget. The client's subsequent success with them has since led to additional projects including another site following the merger with another company and taking over SEO and digital marketing from their incumbent.
