Some key areas for development include: Communication:

Working with an international technical team sometimes made communication more challenging.

Content development: UPQODE supplied the design and templates, but I developed essentially 100% of the website's written content. That is a substantial contribution and should be recognized when evaluating the project's scope and value.

Long-term ownership: The website is sophisticated, but managing it requires knowledge of Webflow, analytics, SEO, and potentially AI search optimization. We are now facing the choice of investing substantial time in technical training or purchasing ongoing professional support.

This last issue is the most consequential. A sophisticated website is valuable, but a small business also needs an affordable, practical way to maintain it.

If I had to identify one area for improvement, it would be the initial creative direction on some of the page designs. While we absolutely loved where every page ultimately landed, there were a few instances where we needed to go through several rounds of revisions to get the designs to a place that fully aligned with our vision. At times, this meant using all of our allotted revision rounds, and I think there could have been opportunities to get closer to the desired direction a bit earlier in the process. That said, the team was always incredibly receptive to our feedback, quick to turn around edits, and genuinely committed to getting things right. We never felt like our feedback was a burden, and we really appreciated their willingness to continue refining the designs until we were happy with the result.

LCG Capital Management hired UPQODE to design and develop a new website that reflects our updated brand and positions us as a boutique commercial real estate firm with institutional experience. Our previous site ran on a Divi build that felt clunky to manage and didn't communicate who we are. UPQODE handled the full rebuild on WordPress, including strategy, competitor research, custom design, frontend and backend development, technical SEO, QA, and launch. They also integrated our property listings directly from CoStar.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The new site delivered clear, measurable improvements. Before the rebuild, LCG didn't appear on the first page of Google results for our own company name. Now we rank at the top with multiple sitelinks, making us easy to find for anyone searching for us. The CoStar integration eliminated manual listing uploads entirely. Listings now sync automatically, so the site stays accurate without extra work from our team. Since launch, we've also seen a noticeable increase in inbound inquiries and email newsletter subscriptions.

At launch, they coordinated directly with our outside IT partner on DNS changes, which made a technical step feel seamless on our end.

Honestly, very little. UPQODE set clear expectations, communicated consistently, and delivered what they promised. We'd happily work with them again.

I found them through an online search. I didn’t want to do an in-depth search, so they were one of the first links I found in my search.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

UPQODE delivered Figma designs, content creation, a homepage layout, and specific messaging. We don’t have any quantifiable results yet, but we will start getting reports from them in the near future. Increased traffic isn’t our main goal; we need a website that looks professional. Our field is small, so I don’t expect to get customers from random web searches, but we need to showcase that we’re a legitimate company. The new website met our expectations in terms of professionalism and representing our company accurately.

How did UPQODE perform from a project management standpoint?

They exceeded my expectations. We communicated via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

UPQODE often had to prod us to get things moving because they were quite efficient. They have a pretty large team dedicated to tackling every aspect of designing, developing, and launching a site.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We paid them to tackle some additional graphics and logo touch-up, but that was much less successful. For pure web design and layout, they’re amazing, but I’d go to a graphic design shop for graphics or animations. They pretty much just used AI to generate graphics that had no physical meaning. It was a deviation from what we actually represent and was just distracting.

No dig on them; it’s truly hard to create the type of graphics that are useful in a quantum computing hardware context. The lesson is that I need to work with a dedicated designer and be very explicit about what I want the graphic to look like. I’m not upset about the graphics because it was low-cost, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I think we got roughly what we paid for.

Website traffic stats are not measurable yet, but we expedited the website in phases to match up with some important dates where we were expecting traffic to the site. More SEO and metadata have also been included in the new site that did not exsist in the old site.

We needed to expedite many of the pages in order to meet our deadlines, and Upcode managed to quickly turn around the pages and speed through the development. Despite this, the pages still looked and operated beautifully.

The ability and willingness to adjust to time-sensitive needs, and produce a website that is functional and looks great.

Information organization: I think that some requests got lost in very long email threads. Not sure if there is a management system that would be able to help assign tasks and sort comments and important links, but that might be helpful for very large projects (like a website).

Timing expectations: I've worked with a company that would send me a visual timeline to go with the scope of our work (and would incorporate any delay on our end). Something like that might be a good way to set expectations for bottlenecked work and how long everything takes to develop. It would be a useful reminder during the meetings as well.

The scope of work included the design and development of a custom website tailored to our business, from initial concept through launch. Key deliverables included full site design in Figma, multiple revision rounds, and front-end development of all core pages. This covered homepage design, service and industry pages, case study layouts, and overall site structure. 
The team also implemented responsive design across devices, basic SEO setup, and performance optimization to ensure a smooth user experience. In addition, they supported feedback cycles through collaborative tools, made iterative design improvements, and handled final deployment to deliver a polished, fully functional website.
