I’m the head of CX and digital innovation at TANITA Europe. We’re a global leader in body composition monitoring, manufacturing advanced BIA technology scales for medical, professional, and consumer use to support health, fitness, and well-being decisions.

What challenge were you trying to address with UHP Software GmbH?

We needed help creating, maintaining, and optimizing our MyTanita app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

UHP Software GmbH has created the app from scratch and performed various updates and improvements over the course of the last six years. The app connects with our hardware (consumer BIA scales) and has become an essential part of our products.

They’ve been a longtime partner of ours. Someone referred them to me.

We started working together in July 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

UHP Software GmbH’s work has resulted in increased app ratings and decreased customer queries and complaints regarding bugs and support. The app ratings have significantly increased in the last two years, going from 1–2 stars to 3+ stars. Support questions have decreased by 10%.

How did UHP Software GmbH perform from a project management standpoint?

UHP Software GmbH hasn’t always delivered on time, but their project management has improved. The team has professionalized over the course of the years. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

UHP Software GmbH keeps improving themselves.

We had a bad start, but we’ve built a reliable partnership over the years.

For what projects/services did your company hire UHP, and what were your goals?

We strive for high scalability of our web application. UHP has helped us lay the technical foundation for such scalability, as it is critical to the future development of our business. UHP has helped us to ask and answer the right questions so that we can achieve high scalability.

How did you select UHP and what were the deciding factors?

We already knew about UHP when we contacted them. Since they have shown great reliability in the past and we needed expert advice on this challenge, we didn't hesitate to contact them as a partner.

They provided us with in-depth reviews of our technical solutions in many areas, including API performance, database setup, and user authorization. They usually consulted is in advance on the above topics and provided us with additional consulting during and after the development.

They helped us with a senior developer who specializes in back-end development and a mid-level developer who specializes in front-end development.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to launch our app and haven't encountered any disturbances. In addition, we were able to scale our development easily while regularly shipping to production. Both the back-end of our web app and the database show great response times to user interaction.

They've always given us quick feedback. We usually communicated via email and Skype.

We had access to highly experienced developers who immediately understood our use case. They communicated clearly, responded quickly and were open to our questions.

We haven't encountered any difficulties.

Mobile application to support product and sold with every product.

All developments both app and controller were done with agile methods. Timeline was met most of the time. If feature wasn't ready it was delivered within next sprint or release.

UHP Software GmbH understood the product needed to be right from the beginning and delivered a stunning prototype.

Though not caused by UHP themselves it later on felt difficult to explain complex issues in virtual meeting only. Had to organize on premise hands-on session, which where supported willingly.
