The 2400 Motel is the last motel property in Metro Vancouver, and we wanted a digital marketing partner to help us gain exposure, generate revenue, and help us build on our community roots.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have been clients of TPD for only 6 months, but so much has been accomplished! In a highly saturated marketplace, TPD stands out for its holistic outlook, strategic agility, and genuine service orientation that ensures they understand our brand, product, and people first - then build communication out.

Hospitality is both universal and hyper-personalized, and a partner with first-hand experience in it is key to helping us drive direct booking revenue and create success.

I am the communications coordinator at a charity based in Vancouver that works to reduce the environmental impact of food waste by redistributing food that would have otherwise been thrown out to people who are food insecure.

We were the winner of the Sustainable Growth Contest and decided to use our session to better understand how we can use Google Analytics and Ads to our advantage. Our goals included better understanding our donors and increasing awareness about our mission.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I had been aware of this agency for some time and when they encouraged us to apply for this contest, it felt like perfect timing. We needed someone to walk us through our actual accounts and answer questions specific to our goals.

We had an initial discovery meeting to discuss issues or bottlenecks our team was coming up against. From there, we gave them access to our accounts, followed by an in-depth walk-through meeting. Key metrics were explained, and suggestions were given for both Google Analytics and Ads. Finally, an SEO audit was completed, giving us tangible steps to improve our website. At the final meeting, we walked through this SEO audit and asked any final questions.

We worked mostly with Julie, the Digital Marketing Strategist and founder. We also gave access to our accounts to another colleague, but never interacted with him.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since recognizing our conversions issue, we have since implemented and been able to track our donations. We're hoping to see improvements in our site speed and google ads results once we consider their keyword research and website audit.

They were very timely with responses and getting the project completed. Meetings had a clear agenda which made them smooth and efficient. Julie understood and respected all skill levels and walked us through many different scenarios.

Their level of professionalism, as well as their knowledge in the digital marketing space. Google Analytics is an ever-changing platform that often can feel overwhelming for small teams with limited resources.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They did a great job of hearing our pain points and working towards solving them, only wish we had more time to hear their thoughts when it comes to keywords. But we also had limited time given we won this digital marketing service.

Our Google Ads and our page placement has improved significantly since Tiny Planet has begun managing this for us. We also look forward the improvement in our Social Media. Having a defined strategy that is being constantly monitored will pay off greatly.

We have monthly meetings and will increase those as we work together on our social media strategy.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are a one-stop shop for us, and they have been incredibly helpful while we worked through some issues with Facebook and how the account was set up by a previous employee. Their knowledge is definitely a strength.

At this time I cannot think of anything I would recommend.

Tiny Planet Digital has allowed our creative agency to offer our small business CPG clients SEO services. Our company sought to find an SEO company that specialized in servicing the small business sector in both accessibility and a personalized service offering.

Sometimes estimates take a little longer than I would like when I am trying to acquire a new customer. The pricing also does change, so having standard set rates for common services would be helpful and alleviate the need for getting estimates for every opportunity.

We had an initial kickoff meeting where we shared our current strategies, objectives, and plans. An initial audit on SEO was completed on our website and shared back, highlighting some key findings to us which we were able to action with their support.

Upon further work and conversations together, a more comprehensive digital marketing strategy and recommendations report was presented back, to which we reviewed together.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

While it is still early days in implementing all of the recommendations from Tiny Planet, we were able to apply suggestions to how we approach our social media in terms of paid ads and how we measure campaign success. Overall, we are seeing signs of success and things are moving in a promising direction.

The workflow was smooth; we met virtually and worked across different time zones at times, keeping in touch and checking in via email, and using our meetings more for presentations and getting a chance to connect and ask questions live.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to be super organized and professional was very impressive. She brings structure to her strategic and tactical recommendations, which makes it easy to envision and plan for the implementation across all platforms when it comes to digital marketing strategy.

It would have been helpful to get a better understanding of our set timelines from the onset and what the expectations were from both sides ahead of each touchpoint and milestone.

Completed an SEO audit on our website and presented the findings to us. Created a digital strategy report that included recommendations. We had a meeting to discuss each report and the opportunity to ask questions.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We learned a lot throughout the process. The recommendations were fairly easy for us to implement even though we don't have an SEO expert on our team. It will take some time to see the full results but we feel as though we are making progress towards achieving the desired results.

The workflow was simple. Although we're located thousands of kilometres apart it was easy to schedule meetings and keep the process running smoothly.

It would have been helpful to have some sort of outline at the beginning so we knew what we were getting. We really didn't know what the benefits of their services would be until after the audit was complete.

I’m the CEO and founder of CaseMogul. We create phone accessories and we offer phone repair services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tiny Planet Digital?

We were trying to address some of our digital marketing issues.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tiny Planet Digital managed our SEO efforts. They implemented various ways to optimize our SEO strategies on our website, which was mostly focused on backlinking. As a result, they reached out to different companies to try and get us into certain directories. We also gave them our brand guidelines, which they used for SEO as well.

On top of that, they handled our Google and Facebook ads. Their work involved creating ad copies and executing those ads on our behalf.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two people, including Julie (Founder & Lead Strategist).

How did you come to work with Tiny Planet Digital?

We found Tiny Planet Digital through a referral. A person that I was hiring as a marketing director contractor found them. He told us that they fit the company we were looking for.

How much have you invested with them?

We probably spent around $2,500 a month which included our ad spend and the cost of their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership ran from December 2020–May 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We started at a pretty primitive spot, and we didn’t have much of a foundation on our digital marketing presence. When Tiny Planet Digital left, they definitely made our website more user-friendly and equipped us to get to the next step in terms of structuring our Google Ads. Our SEO rankings had also increased over the period that they managed our SEO efforts. Our keywords ranked higher, too. Overall, we trended in a positive direction while they were working for us and that was probably our biggest KPI.

How did Tiny Planet Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

The team had a pretty solid project management process. We had monthly check-ins, and they summarized action items we could tackle every month.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Julie was impressive, and we liked how she communicated with us. Other CEOs could be a little bit of a black box, but she was different.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they had no areas to improve.

Tiny Planet Digital is super flexible and willing to customize their service to tailor to your needs. In turn, just make sure that you clearly communicate your expectations on what success means to you because that’ll help them get better clarity on how to achieve your goals.

Very efficient. Tiny Planet Digital created several google docs for us to review and approve the contents and the schedule month ahead of the time. Our comments and feedbacks were seamlessly communicated and executed.
