I’m the marketing manager for Palmetto Industries International, which is a company in industrial packaging. We basically sell any type of flexible polypropylene packaging.

We had a rebranding campaign and reached out to Tiny Frog to develop the website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We designed the website using Photoshop. After I presented them with the designs, Tiny Frog built the website on WordPress. Their team wrote all the HTML code and developed all the pages, making the website come to life. They’re also our hosting provider.

My main point of contact was Andrea (Designer & Development Coordinator) and behind her was a development team.

How did you come to work with Tiny Frog Technologies?

I found them through my own research and looked through their portfolio. I held phone interviews with a few different agencies but liked Tiny Frog based on their portfolio and prices. They also offered a one-stop-shop solution.

The project cost less than $12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started talking to Tiny Frog in September 2020, but we didn’t start the development process until later. It took about two months, and the website went live in February 2021. They're hosting our platform now.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Generally speaking, the website’s a success. Everyone who sees it loves it. My CEO spoke to his colleagues and other people in the industry who all said it was a home run. In terms of leads, we’ve already seen good returns. Tiny Frog has been super helpful.

How did Tiny Frog Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything was upfront and open. If we hit any snags during development, Tiny Frog quickly corrected them. I also had daily conversations with Andrea during that process. We communicated through email and UberConference. If I had feedback, Andrea communicated it to the development team. She was attentive to even the smallest details and listened to all of our thoughts.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Tiny Frog is willing to cater to our needs and considers the finest details.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Honestly, I don’t have anything negative to say. As with any development project, we had issues with the code, but Tiny Frog worked around them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Before starting the project, have a game plan in place. It’s important to know what you want and give them direction.

We manufacture LCD liquid crystal displays and distribute those displays. I’m the general manager of operations in North America.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tiny Frog Technologies?

This was our first step into the web. Our corporate headquarters had a website, but it was quite limited. We wanted to showcase our products and services to a North American audience through our new site.  

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We didn’t have a web site in place at the time, so I offered them a basic template that explained our services, products, and solutions. They built the website using WordPress, customizing it against the general template we selected. Their team started by producing mockups, which produced a general skeleton of the framework. Once we approved the framework, they started laying out the graphics and design. After the design stage, they moved into developing the platform based on the design of the framework. Each phase involved an approval process from our team. 

The product includes a flexible backend that allows us to make any necessary changes to the site on our own. We’re still new when it comes to using WordPress, but the platform is quite flexible. We’ve been able to make necessary changes to update information for our customers. The site is live, but they’re continuing to help us implement changes when needed.

We found them and several other developers on Clutch. In our search, we considered about 6–7 developers. Of those groups, I was comfortable and confident about 2–3. On top of that, I wanted a fairly local company. We were hoping to avoid accomodating different time zones for the project. 

They gave us a strong comfort level that we didn’t find anywhere else. Their team seemed to provide a solid support system, meet the needs of clients, and answer questions in a timely manner. That’s why we selected them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m glad I chose them as the partner for this project because they listened to our needs and delivered against those needs. They addressed our requirements with a detailed project plan and milestones, making sure we approved of everything before proceeding.  

How did Tiny Frog Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very organized and carried out detailed processes with ease. Even when we had a request that fell outside the scope of work, they implemented the change without an additional charge. We used Invision to collaborate and provide feedback on their design work.  After we left comments, they got back to us right away with what they were going to do to make the changes we requested.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

They went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied with the work they’ve done. I was impressed by how well they could pick my brain to help me lay out my vision for the site. It can be challenging to articulate a vision, but they helped me bring my vision into reality through a website. It worked out very well.   

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they didn’t do well. Our one miscommunication was due to an error on our end. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They handled our needs in a very cost-effective manner. There are no downsides to working with them. We’re moving forward with more work with them because we’re confident in their ability to deliver products.

They did a lot of work with the positioning, copy, and design that better represents our company and branding in 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

All the feedback has been very positive. I’m personally thrilled about the outcome of the look and feel of the new website. It really represents our company in an accurate manner. We haven’t started to track anything on our website yet because we’re currently focused on developing a baseline.

How did Tiny Frog Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, it was fine. This is the one area I’d encourage them to improve upon. I felt that as a client, I was in the dark pretty regularly. I wasn’t aware of when tasks and deliverables were due, who was responsible for them, or what the upcoming timelines and milestones were. We could get access to that information pretty regularly through an email but I would’ve appreciated a client portal, project plan, or collaborative task list.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team was very good and professional. The design and visual aesthetic were excellent.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We probably could’ve gotten the project completed in four months rather than six if we had better alignment on tasks and timelines. From my perspective, I could’ve jumped in and gotten things done quicker. Instead, I wasn’t doing much and they were sitting around waiting for 2–3 weeks on me; all the while, I didn’t know that they were waiting for me. Overall, it wasn’t a significant pain though.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Plan on allocating twice as much time as you’d initially thought because there’s only so much work they can do if you’re trying to rebuild your website. There’s a lot of work that needs to be done from the owner’s perspective with regard to positioning and copywriting. That takes a tremendous amount of time.

Get your positioning done before you get into the project. Have a good handle and organization of your project so you can manage it in the absence of any project management.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tiny Frog Technologies?

We had a very dated website that we needed to rebuild from a brand creative perspective.

What was the scope of their involvement?

When Tiny Frog came on board, we told them we needed to completely overhaul our web presence and brand. The team took us through the evaluation process of their services, and what they could do for us from an infrastructure perspective. 

From there, Tiny Frog took us through their creative process and how they could identify what we were missing. One area we identified was our ability to speak to customers and to candidates. Together, we went through a series of meetings to understand the ins and outs of those relationships and what we wanted the outcome to be.

Once we went through the creative process, they did the wireframing, mockups, development, and creation process of the site. The team also helped us through the QA process and provided us with go-live support during the launch.

There were quite a few people involved, though we did have a single point of contact at each phase in the project, which was super helpful. If I had to guess, the total number of people that were responsible for taking the project from start to finish, I would say about seven or eight people. There was probably a lot more going on in the background that I wasn’t cognizant of.

Tiny Frog was recommended to me by a member of our company. We went to market and interviewed four or five different companies like Tiny Frog. We wanted to be educated on each companies’ process. 

They actually applied what we were looking for to our evaluation process. The way they acquired our attention was by getting to understand what we wanted and using that as their pitch for us. That was above what we were seeing with some of the other organizations we’d evaluated. We felt like Tiny Frog had taken the time to really understand what we were looking for.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from April–November 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

It’s too soon to provide data to substantiate the success — we went live about two or three weeks ago, so we don’t have many analytics yet. However, the feedback that we’ve received has been really positive, especially compared with our old site. 

The usability and the look and feel have improved a lot. Everyone who works in and alongside the business, from clients to consultants and vendors have provided a lot of unsolicited positive feedback.

How did Tiny frog Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Tiny Frog performed very well. They were very responsive and very proactive — the team would telegraph what we needed to be thinking about before we needed to work on it and ultimately deliver. We needed someone who was going to drive the project and keep us on task, and Tiny Frog did that in a really thoughtful and tactful way.

They used a few tools that made it easier for me to collaborate with my counterparts and keep track of the changes we’d like to see and our thoughts on the progress so far.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were most impressed with their ability to translate our requirements. When we first started working with Tiny Frog, we didn’t know what we wanted, which makes things really difficult from a creative standpoint. The team did a remarkable job at listening and helping us understand what we needed and where we could take the project, even when we didn’t know ourselves. 

Tiny Frog was exceptional at guiding us through the creative process to ensure we landed on something everyone felt strongly about.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

Tiny Frog exceeded our expectations. There isn’t anything I would suggest at this time they could improve upon. We’re very thankful for all their help.

Trust Tiny Frog’s abilities. We didn’t have a preexisting relationship with them. Whenever you sign on with a new vendor, you have to let the relationship and the ability for the vendor to perform to go through a process. It’s during that time when you understand if they have the skill and the will to deliver. Knowing what we know now, we can say that anyone who signs on with Tiny Frog is going to have a successful outcome.

My company wanted to update our website and make it more professional. We’d put up a website when our company was fairly new, and we’re about seven years in. We wanted to make sure we were representing ourselves appropriately on the internet.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tiny Frog Technologies built our website. They made sure that people would understand both sides of our structural design and material supply. They also introduced our company team and put a lot of our projects front and center.

What is the team composition?

I worked with about four people. Initially, someone made sure that we all agreed on the website’s layout. One person managed the different pieces of the website, and then another person was on the artistic side of things and oversaw the site’s content. That person really helped us with some of the drawings and the discussion around the feel of the site. The last person was our interface when they actually put the website together.

I did a lot of research online. I looked at different companies and a lot of Yelp reviews. I really liked Tiny Frog’s website and the example websites that they had. When I called them, they were very personable and explained their process very well. I’m not very good with computers, so they used language to help me understand what they do. They also got right back to me. All of those things were very positive, so that’s why I ended up going with them.

Our website is really important to us because we don’t get a lot of work from people randomly finding us on the internet, but from our clients and word-of-mouth. The fact that new and old clients can go on our professional site and find pictures is very important to our business.

The communication was the number one thing. Tiny Frog did an amazing job with communication throughout the process. They were very clear about what they needed from us. Whenever we had an idea or question, they were very helpful and great about giving us options. From an artistic standpoint, we talked about options with pictures and how to make the site a little different and fun, and that was great; they didn’t just take all of our information and plug it in. It was a really good process.

How did Tiny Frog Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They told us at the beginning what steps they’d be taking and what different people would be assigned to each step. Once they completed a step, they let us know, and we verified that we were happy with it before moving on. 

I didn’t feel like we were rushed through anything, but they were always on top of it in terms of asking us questions and whether we were ready to move on. They let us know if we forgot to give them feedback or anything they needed in order to move forward.

Their communication was the most impressive thing about working with them.

No — we were really happy with the outcome and the whole process.

Any advice for potential customers?

Don’t be afraid of bringing up your ideas; whenever you bounce ideas off of the people from Tiny Frog, they give you good feedback. That helps you come up with your specific website that has the feel that you want it to have.

Our website was very outdated, so we wanted to create something that was visually beautiful but wouldn’t confuse our audience.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tiny Frog Technologies proposed a complete website redesign. That entailed three different stages. The first stage involved wireframing in which they sent me a blueprint of the website. The second stage was the design. 

This is where they did the colors and photos. The third stage was the content and wording for the website. We didn’t keep anything from our other website. They created a WordPress website.

What is the team composition?

Initially, we interacted with Mikel (President) who gave the first presentation. Afterward, at each stage, I worked with a different teammate. We also worked with a program manager who oversaw the entire process.

How did you come to work with Tiny Frog Technologies?

I looked online and Tiny Frog Technologies’ website caught my attention because it was light-hearted, but I could also tell that they knew what they were doing. I looked at them and their competitors. 

Tiny Frog Technologies was the first to respond to the email where I expressed interest. In less than 24 hours, someone from their team reached out to me with an email and a phone call. They were quicker than their competitors and very friendly.

We brought them onboarded in October 2019, and our website went live at the end of August 2020. Tiny Frog Technologies is still doing maintenance and making changes. The website would’ve been completed in March or April 2020, but there were some internal events that caused us to delay.

The website is a lot better than it was before. It’s absolutely beautiful, and I’ve heard from a couple of clients that the website is beautiful and a lot better than the previous one. I didn’t want a website that was overcomplicated, so it’s very user-friendly. 

Tiny Frog Technologies did a good job with our vision in mind. What I’ve heard from our clients and some of our internal teammates has been nothing but positive. 

How did Tiny Frog Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was exceptional. They did a good job of walking me through each phase of the project, and whenever I moved onto the next phase, I was sad to say goodbye to the colleague I’d been working with.

However, when I moved onto working with another one of their teammates, it was an equally positive experience. Additionally, they followed up in a gentle and friendly manner when they needed something from me. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Tiny Frog Technologies was very friendly and kind. I had a lot of phone conversations with them about everything that’s happening in the world, and I could tell that they were real people.

The team was also very responsive. The longest I waited for a reply to an email was one day. They were really consistent and considerate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wanted the website up by mid-August when we sent out our annual mailer. However, unfortunately towards the end, there were a couple of promises made about when the website would be up and running that didn’t happen. 

One of my contacts told me that the website was going to be up and running on a certain day, but it didn’t happen. I wish they would’ve communicated that to me so that I wasn’t expecting it to be live when it wasn’t going to be. They apologized and quickly rectified it, and they still did a good job.

Communicate well and be open-minded.

Master’s Advisors is a financial advising firm. I’m the hospitality coordinator, and I do a couple of different things. My involvement on the marketing team is why I was involved in this website process.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tiny Frog Technologies?

We had a couple of iterations of our website that just had not gone the way that we were hoping. We’d worked with a couple of individual providers that did websites on the side, and we weren’t getting the professionalism we wanted. We engaged Tiny Frog with the hopes of getting something higher quality.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our initial vision was to just have Tiny Frog tweak the website, but it became apparent that we needed a full overhaul, so they redid the site entirely. They built a WordPress site.

We were looking to them for guidance to redo some aspects of our brand, which they did a really nice job with. They helped us overhaul our brand while we went through the website.

It’s only been about a week since we launched, but the biggest impact has been internal. It’s nice to know that our website is done correctly and we don’t have to worry about it anymore.

Inga did a great job. It was nice knowing that I could always reach out to her and have one person to go to if I had any questions. She kept us on track. We had asked for a somewhat expedited process as we wanted to launch in July, and Inga did a great job keeping everything organized so that we could launch on time.

They used monday.com for project management, and we had our own little site. We’d never used it before, but it was very user-friendly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their process is what sets them apart from other providers. It was just very streamlined, and they knew the best way to get things done. We didn’t have to drive the process, which was a nice change for us.

I don’t think so; nothing comes to mind. We were pretty satisfied the whole way through the process.

Any advice for potential customers?

Just trust their process and make sure that you’re voicing your opinions early and often. They’ll drive the process for you, but it’s still your website. You’ll get the best result by having a good collaboration the whole way through.

In the past, we had thrown together a basic website to function as a placeholder. We realized that we needed a more professional design and look and feel to accomplish our goals within this small team.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, they created wireframes to give us an idea of the direction for the site. Then, they moved into an overall design phase based on their sketches, site designs we enjoyed, and their portfolio items.

At that point, they brought the product to the market through their production system. We were using WordPress for our previous site, but they built the new framework for our new WordPress site from scratch. When we went live, they simply ported our old domain over to our new site.

The development process spanned December 2019–March 2020. Some of the tasks were delayed on our end.

I had my key advisors look through the site to ensure that users would be able to find our value proposition quickly. It was critical for their design team to come up with something that was able to quickly reflect what we do without being verbose or complex. They provided a straightforward solution. Both from a design and communication standpoint, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. People could get the gist of our company’s value proposition quickly. 

How did Tiny Frog Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re a distributed team, but they did a great job of managing the overall project. Working through each of the three phases individually, the transition from one task to another was seamless. We communicated over email and web conferences. That allowed us to walk through and approve their design proposals. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their development process was engaging and dynamic. If I had a question, I could always reach their team for a quick answer. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

My goal was to go as fast as possible, so we could’ve cut down on time even more. However, they did a great job sticking the schedule that they originally quoted.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Minimize internal delays by designating a single point of contact for the project. Because I had this responsibility, I was able to make decisions and keep the project on track.

Some of our team members didn’t like our website because it posed some major challenges. We weren’t able to update it on its own but needed to add features and content to make it work better for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They began work with us with a deep discovery dive, learning about our goals and client profiles. The goal was to create and launch a brand new website. They’d also be the host of the site moving forward. It was also important that they provided us with training, so we could manage the site content on an ongoing basis. 

Then, they developed the project and determined a project approach. It normally takes about three months for them to launch a site, but I knew that this endeavor would take a bit longer, as we needed to write content on our end. They put the new website on the newest version of WordPress. Their team made sure that we’d have control over updating the platform as we moved forward.

There were about four teammates that were involved directly. The founder started the relationship with us and later passed us off to various specialists in the various phases of the project. We worked most closely with Chelsea (Development Coordinator, Tiny Frog Technologies).

One of my younger associates met a financial advisor with an impressive website. That firm recommended Tiny Frog Technologies. We spoke with them and looked at their past work. They seemed like a good fit. Our teams would be remote, but we were okay with that for a web development project.

We started the project in July 2019, and it launched in February 2020.

Once we launched the site, we had many more incoming prospective client leads. Up until that point, things had become pretty slow. When the site launched, we had a few millennial inquiries and had to hide the page because we didn’t want to accept any more than what had already come in. 

We’re in the process of speaking with an SEO specialist that was recommended by Tiny Frog Technologies to figure out what drove this change and whether we could replicate it in the future. Regardless, our website has always been important for us in generating new leads, so that bump in engagement was pretty impressive. Additionally, our team feels great about what they ended up putting together.  

How did Tiny Frog Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Chelsea was great about holding our hands and dealing with changes to the site as we requested them. They have a clear process to get clients from start to finish, allowing different specialists to get involved. Their team is skilled and responsive in communication as we had questions or concerns. 

The only thing I didn’t understand until we were further along in the project is that we’re responsible for the production of content. They agreed to help format for the web, but we had to write the copy.

Luckily, we had most of the necessary content from the old site. However, there was still plenty that I needed to write. That was a big project on my end. This may have been a fault on my end, but we got through it. They were great about determining how to best incorporate the content on the site. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a process for development supported by a strong team. I’ve worked with several other site development companies and have experienced issues with cohesion and uniqueness in those collaborations.

Their design work was also very impressive. They understood that I didn’t want our site to look like some of the other platforms in our industry. There were look and feel requirements that were very important to me, and they worked hard to make those happen.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would’ve appreciated more clarity on my responsibility to write all the content for the site. That’s been handled by web development teams we’ve worked with in the past, so there was some confusion there. There were also times that we’d ask for corrections and changes that didn’t get caught by their team the first time around, so we’d often have to revisit those issues more than once.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re a great firm to work with and I’m happy with the end product. It’s important to have a game plan with them, making sure to block out the time to create content. The more time you put into the relationship, the more successful it will be. Be prepared to block time for check-in calls and site evaluations so you end up with exactly what you want. Communication is key.
