Scope of Work:
Update “Schedule & Rules” page with 2025 dates for competition 
Create Wordpress forms for four phases of a bracket-style contest
By September 1, web developer sends list of all nominations. 
CMTA will comb through all nominations and remove those that are disqualified or duplicates and will send over to web developer final list to publish by September 2.  
Web developer will send over draft page with all nominations by September 5 (or what may be feasible). Web develope will add a search bar to the page.
Web developer sends list of top 16 votes by September 12. CMTA will notify who makes it to the top 16 by end of day September 12.  
Top 16 bracket for the following week will be in true bracket style form. 
There will be 8 pages created.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

All pages, forms, and polls functioned as desired, with only a few minor issues not caused by the development team. The site was fast, reliable, and user-friendly on both the front and back ends. All votes in the contest came through accurately and all requested featured functioned as asked.

Three29's project management was stellar. The communication was frequent, clear, and timely. They were quick to respond to issues and delivered all asks on the agree timeline.

Three29's team went above and beyond, often without our team needing to ask. The project manager provided clear answers and explanations to all questions and requests sent to them. The Staff, Board, Management and Strategic Partners love the new website. We have received many positive compliments about the design, easy nagivation and the traffic to our website has increased tremendously.

I’m the creative director of Greater Sacramento, a nonprofit economic development organization. We help bring and retain jobs in our region. I oversee all design and creative needs for the organization.

What challenge were you trying to address with Three29?

We needed a web developer who was ideally local.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Three29 has designed and developed our website from scratch. We’ve provided new content and photos. The team has helped with the design and branding, too. They’ve waited for the moment when we’ve finished our logo and brand guidelines to implement some of those branding elements. Everything has been their ideas and designs.

One of the key things for us has been a menu change and functionality. Our previous website was difficult to navigate. It was also extensive with lots of pages, so we’ve tried to make it more organized. Three29 has helped us improve our website’s menu and content.

Additionally, the team has implemented a new map feature where we can show companies in the region. They’ve made the website more dynamic and better in terms of content. At present, Three29 is helping us maintain the server and backend of the website.

Our main point of contact is Rebecca. We’ve also worked with Kevin, Connor, and a designer.

We were working with a local design agency on our logo and regional brand. When we asked them for recommendations, they suggested Three29.

The engagement started in April 2024, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The bugs have been minimal. We’ve had a good bug window before the launch, where we’ve been able to test every single functionality. Even once we’ve launched, we’ve had a warranty period. Three29 has been able to solve every single issue.

How did Three29 perform from a project management standpoint?

Rebecca has been great. We’ve had ongoing meetings, so we’re informed of everything. We primarily communicate through email and occasional Zoom meetings.

Three29 has amazing communication with deadlines and schedules. A lot of it has to do with us giving them content. They’ve been great, especially when we’ve had to shift a couple of deadlines. They’ve been able to push back their schedule to meet our new deadlines, which has been amazing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed by how quickly Three29 has responded to every single email we’ve sent them. They’ve met everything we’ve asked for and beyond. They’ve completely blown our expectations out of the park. They’ve done an amazing job with the design.

Woden engaged Three29 to redo our website. Our former website was years out of date: it was built on an outdated CMS, had poor navigation, didn't align with our current brand and didn't tell our story.
Three29 took Woden through a website revamp from top-to-bottom: they helped us design the site, developed it, and stood it up for launch. We did our own copy and photography.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've relaunched our website: storyisthestrategy.com. In the first week the site was live, we saw 5x the level of weekly conversions we'd seen before. Our team is proud of the work: they had often complained about the image our old site put out about their engagements, and they are definitely more enthusiastic about sharing the company with others.

An account manager handled project management. She was very communicative throughout the project. We flew through the design phase—credit to our excellent designer. Development was a little slower than anticipated due to some delays on the Three29 side, but the end result was fantastic.

The site looks great, obviously. But the biggest thing I've been impressed by is the "build quality." The back end of our site is much easier to use than before, and the development of the site, including flexibility for different browsers and devices, is awesome. It's a real top-quality outcome in that regard.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Three29 could have done differently?

Other than the previously mentioned development delay, no. It's worth noting that when that did happen, the CEO personally reached out and engaged with us to provide updates and keep the project on track. This was much appreciated.

To meet this challenge, Three29 crafted two specialized versions of the site: one optimized for mobile users and another for desktop, ensuring a seamless experience across all devices. 

The primary aim was to design a website that not only echoed Kodiak's distinctive color scheme and style but also effectively showcased their work and team. A key aspect of this redesign was to enhance user experience, a priority that Three29 meticulously addressed. 

Additionally, an important part of the brief was to empower Kodiak with the capability to easily update their website, allowing for the seamless addition of new text and images. This feature ensures that the website remains dynamic and up-to-date, reflecting Kodiak's evolving portfolio and achievements.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As the website was completed in mid-December, we are still in the early stages of gathering comprehensive data, and hence, measurable outcomes are somewhat limited at this juncture. However, initial observations and feedback have been positive, and we anticipate more detailed metrics and results in the coming months.

They helped us get an e-commerce site up and running in less than 30 days; this is something we wouldn’t have been able to do without them. We were up against a very tight deadline, and they were still able to listen to us and execute all of our ideas. We’ve received positive feedback on our site and consider the engagement successful.

Three29 Web Design & Development was very transparent with us; if anything needed to be changed in the budget, they were upfront about that. The team stayed within budget and delivered on time.

We’d like to shout out Nicholas (Project Manager) and Justin (Director of Engineering). They were both excellent.
