Tekton Labs supported us in the development of one of our internal back-office platforms. The project included custom software development, backend and API work, technical implementation, integrations with existing systems, and collaboration with our internal product and technology teams. We do not identify any major areas for improvement. The project had the normal challenges and adjustments expected in this type of initiative, but every issue or deviation was addressed through open dialogue, collaboration, and a strong willingness from Tekton Labs to find solutions.

I'm a brand assistant at a company specialized in the commercialization of paint and other chemical products.

We’ve had two projects with them, both based on our brand’s websites.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first project was focused on renewing a site, changing and improving the UI/UX experience. The second part of the process was a bigger project for one of our most important brands. That effort included research, UIUX work, and website development.

We worked with about seven people.

Our technology team has a pool of different technology companies that work as service providers for different aspects of our company. This was created recently because our company is going through a digitization process.

Tekton Labs was a part of this pool. For this particular project, we felt like they showed a great connection and understanding of our brand. They also provided the best proposal in terms of methodology.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They helped us, in a short time and with a limited budget, to completely renew the voice of one of our brands. With their help, we created a user center site that responds to all of our users' needs.

This collaboration also provided us with a great pool of information regarding user research and profiles, allowing us to continue improving user experience into the future.

How did Tekton Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was very good. They had a great methodology and very well-established schedules. Their team worked very hard to meet timelines with the highest possible level of quality. We used Miro and Slack to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They provided an added value to our services through their passion and focus on our clients. Plus, their skills in UI/UX are great.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We would have liked a pre-project mapping and schedule to inform us more about the materials and resources we needed beforehand. There were some delays on our end because we were missing some things needed to implement the site before and during the project.

I’m a product manager for a company that develops software products to help health care facilities.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tekton Labs?

We needed to create a predictable development pipeline at a reasonable cost. We wouldn’t require and couldn’t afford to keep resources with every skillset on board at a constant velocity.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tekton helped us in a lot of different areas. They helped us look into issues related to scaling and creating a high-availability infrastructure for a platform. As we have customers with multiple venues in multiple time zones, we needed an architecture that could support them. They helped us develop a high-level plan for scaling. We’re currently implementing some phases.

They also evaluated our code and made recommendations to improve our efficiency, which included refactoring the code. Their team provided frontend development and backend development, mostly in a Ruby and Angular environment.

They also helped us with UI design based on the documentation I provided. Additionally, Tekton created a lot of documentation around our release methodology to help us achieve a continuous deployment process.

Currently, we’re working with five people from Tekton. About three people work full-time and two work part-time.

We sought an organization that had access to different resources and different skillsets when we needed them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our company’s executives gave Tekton positive feedback. There’s a high level of satisfaction with our ROI. Although we're deploying a lot of their work into a production environment, we've already seen a lot of progress. We’ve also been able to use a lot of their work for demonstration and marketing purposes.

How did Tekton Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Their team’s flexible. For example, they adjusted to the platforms that we used within our organization. We basically use Jira and Microsoft Teams for communication tools. Tekton is also knowledgeable in the Agile methodology. Their team brought a lot of structure to the way we used Jira and increased transparency.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Tekton is in a complementary time zone, which is helpful because our workdays are generally the same. It’s a challenge to have a team functioning asynchronously, especially if you’re a small organization that doesn’t have a high level of documentation. We don't have that with Tekton. Their team’s English language abilities are also notable.

Their ability to work with what we have rather than propose a solution that’s more familiar to them is impressive. They worked with us to build a team that was familiar with our existing platform’s languages, and we ended up with great folks. Their team has great resources that work with the languages we require.

I am the founder and CEO of an organic food production and certification company.

What challenges were you trying to address with Tekton Labs?

We’ve had different projects with them. We used to do most of our work manually—using excel and an RP that honestly didn’t work well—and we had several digital needs. I had some ideas about how I wanted to achieve our digitalization but they offered a diagnosis of our ecosystems and to identify the right solutions for us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

That was our first project together, and we found out that one of our needs was to create software of our own to manage information of some of our plants, particularly, our ginger production plant. They created a blueprint for this project. Later on, they also developed the software itself.

We are also working with them to find the best solution to replace our RP system and to create a new website for our company. There are also more software and digitization projects across different sectors of our company.

I work directly with two people, and I know there is a bigger team involved.

How did you come to work with Tekton Labs?

The founder of Tekton Lab participates in a CEOs group that I belong to. I got to know the company from him and knew they were very professional and respected. When this project came up, I contacted them. Since the first moment, they showed a great interest in understanding our needs clearly. They took the time to make sure they were really addressing our needs.

We started working with them around December 2019 and are continuing our collaboration.

We haven’t launched any of the projects yet, so the tangible results have yet to be seen. I can say, however, that they’ve really understood our digital needs and have taken care of finding the best set of solutions for us.

We have an assigned technology officer, with whom I meet once a week and transmit all of our needs to the company. We use Google Meet for our meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their work in understanding our needs to be able to offer the right solution stands out.

I couldn’t say anything. We’ve had a good experience.

The quality of their services was great and it had a big impact on our organization. We plan to continue working with them because we really like to see what they're capable of accomplishing in a short time.

We used Trello and Slack for project management. Our communication was fluid, and they always kept us updated. Their project management was better than other agencies we’ve worked with before; they were great at it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was very impressed with their commitment to the project; that was very important for me. They were always ready to go the extra mile for the good of the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At first, it was hard for us to work remotely but we, as a company, were able to adjust and get used to it. I would’ve liked for Tekton Labs to give us a clearer picture of how they handle remote work because we honestly had no idea. They do a great job even when they’re not in the office, but they could explain that better to clients like us that don’t have this kind of experience.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We needed a platform to manage prospective client information. The team used PHP for the development side and used AWS for hosting. They also assisted with other projects.

It’s changed over time, but on average, we work with four or five people.

How did you come to work with Tekton Labs?

When I started working here, they were already in the process of finding a company for these types of projects. I ended up being in charge of renewing contracts. I decided to stick with Tekton Labs because of their commitment and professionalism.

Since we started working with them, we’ve used an agile methodology. It’s worked great for us. Their team is committed, always willing to collaborate.

Tekton Labs is flexible and innovative.

They could improve the tools they’re using for quality control. They could even show us the tests that they use, so we could have more insight.

I am an IT manager at Sky Airline, a regional airline.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tekton Labs?

The company grew a lot during the last year, so we expanded our services and started collaborating with and selling to government entities. This project was aimed to create a sales portal focused exclusively on these accounts.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We already had a base code on our general website. We worked using Node.js, Jira, repositories, and more. We also implemented new cloud-based production spaces with Tekton Labs.

What is the team composition?

We worked with six people in total: a scrum master, an architecture leader, three developers, and a QA person.

How did you come to work with Tekton Labs?

I had worked with them before while I worked for another company. For this project, the company did an analysis of all the firms in the market. It was a long list. After reviewing all of them, Tekton Labs was the one that I felt was a better fit for the company’s needs. They did a great job and understood the company’s needs very clearly.

When this new project came up in my new job post, I reviewed two companies, as I didn’t have much time. They were among them, and when we consulted them again, I felt like they were up for the challenge and made a great proposal.

We spent around $6,500 per sprint.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started around mid-October 2019 and finished around the end of December the same year.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project was a great success. With the tight schedule we had, no one believed that we could achieve a quality product, but we did. Every part of the development was audited and everything had a great result. We achieved the quality of a project that would normally require around nine months in just two months. Their team is just great.

How did Tekton Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a project manager that was in constant communication. We also had follow-up meetings and used WhatsApp. In general, I think their project management was great. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their commitment and technology skills stood out to me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At some point, we started having some friction. The deadlines were too tight and we were working non-stop so it was understandable. We started having group dynamics that eased things, and it was all great after that.

I’m the founder and president of Sports Venting Inc, an app that allows sports fans to vent about the teams they love and hate.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tekton Labs?

I relied on Tekton Labs for Android app development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tekton Labs developed an interactive Android app for me. It’s a microblog—meaning that content posting is restricted to a certain number of characters, like Twitter. Users can post articles, videos, and share any other sports-related media. The backend was hosted on AWS and the app was coded in Java.

What is the team composition?

Maggie (Head of UX/UI) was our project manager, but we were also in touch with Kenneth (Founder). I’m sure there was a larger team involved, as well.

How did you come to work with Tekton Labs?

A tech-savvy partner of mine recommended that I look to South American companies for development services. We shortlisted and interviewed ten different vendors and chose Tekton Labs for their portfolio, pricing, and references.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $53,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The app development began in July 2016 and wrapped up in February 2017. We’re planning on engaging them again for our iOS app, so it’s an ongoing collaboration.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

While we didn’t have the marketing resources to get the app off the ground, they delivered a functional, user-friendly app. Once we have the iOS app and a brand ambassador, we’re positive it’ll gain great traction with users.

How did Tekton Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent at meeting deadlines. Whenever we wanted something fixed, they executed it very quickly. They were timely about bug fixes, and their communication was great.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their design skills are stellar. I was very impressed by the look and feel of the app they created.

That’s tough — I would have to nitpick. I really don’t believe I can think of anything.

I am the CEO at a construction company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tekton Labs?

As part of our business model, we offer our clients design and supervision services. Once the design phase is over, we offer a certified master builder who supervises the building processes. This used to be an informal process, so we were looking to develop a platform for this process.  

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tekton Labs built a platform that allows the master builder to supervise their personnel, oversee the progress of the building, and show our clients the progress.

What is the team composition?

At first, during the discovery phase, there were 3 or 4 people. Since we started the project, we work with a UX/UI developer and around 4–5 more developers.

How did you come to work with Tekton Labs?

We have a long relationship with them — our parent company had done some projects with Tekton Labs in the past and had a great experience with them. So, when we started with the bidding processes, they were among our options. In the end, Tekton Labs offered the best proposal so we chose them.

We’ve spent around $150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working by the end of January 2020. The project is still in progress and about to finish.

Everything has been excellent. We’ve met all of our goals and are developing a platform that generates great value to our users. Tekton Labs has been able to understand our needs very clearly, and we’re very happy with their work. 

How did Tekton Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

One of the things I liked the most about working with them is that they have a very clear methodology. It allows us to have great clarity about what we’re going to get. We have daily and weekly meetings where they show all their progress, and they never miss a deadline.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The UX/UI has added great value. It shows that Tekton Labs understands our users perfectly. As for the development, the method they use makes it possible for us to know that we’ll meet every deadline and have the project ready on time. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We've had a very positive experience. At first, it took them some time to adapt and integrate with our company, and that might have made us lose a couple of days at first. However, they were very open and worked hard to adapt to our ways and that allowed us to get back on track quickly.
