SmartVisibility Edutech is an Elearning startup based in India and I'm currently associated with the company under the job role of Senior Project Coordinator.

One of the offerings our company is coming up with is a LMS platform for corporates and we were looking at hiring dedicated developers to help us execute the same. We wanted to develop a platform that is scalable and felxible and can fulfill the future demands of the market.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had reviewed many vendors before finding them. As we were looking for a long term association, we wanted a really experianced and professional team that where quality driven and had a strong track record when it came to customer service.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The platform was developed using the PHP CodeIgniter framework. The first step was to identify basic and get the basic bug fixing and updates done. Then we focused oin getting new functionalities developed to suit the requirements of our target market. The functionalities were developed keeping in mind that the UI/UX of the platform was simple to use.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The project manager and the director of the company were the two points of contact that we had. Both the design team and the development team were involved in the execution of the project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The deliverables were quality driven and on-time delivery was ensured in every milestone delivered.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project management style was really professional. All the communication was done through a PMS platform. Timely updates and regular meetings helped us launch the project on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were really focused on quality and ensured on-time delivery of each and every deliverable connected with the project. The Project Managers were really professional and were always there to support us throughout the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We are really satisfied with their team. There are no siggestions that we can think that may prove to be a value addition to them.

I am the University Registrar and my company is called National Capital University (UNC) incorporated in Malawi and to be operating in Lilongwe. NCU is a privately own University offering undergraduate and post-graduate courses in commerce.

We hired Techno to create for us a website that is interactive and linked to our Student Learning Management System (SLMS), Task Management System and Library Management Software.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to have a platform that allows us to integrate all our management software for easy management of those aspects of running a university and to allow both students and academic staff to access the software remotely.

How did you select this vendor?

They were recommend to us by our director who has worked with them on a number of projects in the past. Secondly, it offered us a cost effective solution as they were cheaper than the local suppliers we approached in Malawi.

They had to design the website, register our domain name, host our website and link our website to our Learning management system, task management software and library management system. They also had to create email accounts for staff members.

What was the team composition?

We were given a contact person of which we were in contact with during the whole project and who we still communicate with. Therefore, we are not aware of what the whole team was composed of.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

From the tests we have conducted this far, the results seem promising. The website is easy to navigate and is well connected to our other systems very well. We strongly believe it will help us very much once we start operating and using it.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project management was very effective us we had one contact person who we communicated with and therefore we did not have to worry too much about the technical terms. This allowed for effective communication and the vendor to be able to provide us the service on time considering this was done across borders.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive thing was how fast they could make changes or additions to our website when we asked them to. This made things so much easier considering the geographic distance and time difference between our countries.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always room for improvement and i feel having a 24 hour help line or assistance would help especially for clients in other time zones.

Techno Infonet has design and develop our whole website which includes admin , brokers, buyers and seller side. All these is done with proper scope, project planning, development and testing.

The site is user friendly and reflect the colors and photos that we have choose to capture on what we do. This responsive website is build in Laravel web development which has database stored in MySQL. They have also done social media marketing and SEO services for our real estate portal.

What were the terms and the value of the lease?

We have given a project with the fixed cost and they will provide support for 120 days and we haven' agreed any commission.

What was the team composition?

Techno Infonet has allocated a dedicated project manager and 3 developers, 1 QA and a designer for our project. Along with the development team 1 SEO manager and social media executive is working on our project as of today.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

Their professional hand holding services along with specific focus on the support for first time buyers were awesome. The project was delivered beyond our expectation.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Techno Infonet has a highly professional and efficient team, which motivated us. Our real estate portal was delivered on time within the budget and has met all the deadlines and implementation

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of services and the support provided by Techno Infonet was overwhelming.

Also, the visuals of the website was exactly the same the way we want to be. Even they have recommended us some ideas and implementation for the website design which we have agreed and they have delivered us a elegant website which can attract any user to stay and use this portal through digital platform.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is no improvement required for such a highly skilled professional company. They have done their best which no one can delivered at this quote. We have also built a personal relationship with them and are still in touch with them and use them forever.

Techno Infonet has been engaged in all stages of the project, which include scope definition; project planning; portal development, software development and customization; operational product training; and project delivery as per the established schedule.

The portal itself is large and highly complex with a host of requirements beyond development, such as content digitization and integration, training, and ongoing management.

The team from Techno Infonet consists of one project head, a project delivery and training team, and a QA team. We augment them with one project coordinator and one IT manager from Qafie.

The timeliness and diligence with which the project has been delivered make us very confident in its implementation.

The project has been managed on time and within the budget, both of which are rare these days. Techno Infonet has met all deadlines and implementation schedules.

Techno Infonet has been professional and engaged. They are a highly motivated and competent team.

While there are always areas for organizational improvement, Techno Infonet is meeting all of our needs for this current project.

Canon Properties International is a real estate development firm that focuses on residential, commercial, retail, and industrial properties.

I’m in charge of business development for the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techno Infonet?

I was charged with having a website created that would reflect all of the things that we do at our company and which could be easily accessible.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They designed a site for us that would be user-friendly and would reflect the colors and photographs that we had chosen in order to capture a visual on what we do. They also worked on reading content that’s easily readable and understandable by the general public, investors, and people looking for our services. I think they did it in WordPress.

How did you come to work with Techno Infonet?

I'd done a lot of research and spent a lot of time on LinkedIn trying to connect with somebody that was reputable. I honestly don’t remember how I got to them, but I believe it was on LinkedIn. They just jumped out as being professionals from their website.

How much have you invested with Techno Infonet?

We have spent under $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

It probably took three to four months to go back and forth to get it right. It began in March 2014, until June.

How did Techno Infonet perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great. When I called and talked to them, I had a good level of comfort with their grasp of the English language; it wasn't difficult to communicate with them at all. I would ask for something to be done, and they would have something done overnight. I’d have it finished and submitted to them by 4 o’clock in the afternoon, and by the next day, it was done. They were very quick and wonderful. They would never charge me extra. There was no, “oh that’s going to cost you an extra $300”. They did things in a good faith effort to help us get to our goal. They were just wonderful people. Sam was just the best.

What did you find most impressive about Techno Infonet?

The visual of the website; I didn’t know how to update it and make it look current. They did a really good job of helping us with the placement of the quotes that we had from people that were giving us good references. The colors, the layout, and the template were exactly what we wanted. It was high-end luxury, and that’s what we wanted.

Are there any areas Techno Infonet could improve?

No. I was so pleasantly surprised. I’ve used them again and recommend them all over the place. They’re just the best. I just could not have asked for anything more. I really hit the jackpot when I found these people. They could do this for far less than anybody else had quoted me. They were wonderful. They came with such a sense of wanting to help and provide a service. I don’t have anything bad to say about these people. I will use them forever.

We have provided IT services to mid-size businesses for over 17 years and we're based out of New York. We provide help desk server support, app development, web development, web hosting, email hosting, security, and various other services. I am the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techno Infonet?

We used them for assisting our developer the first time. We had a couple of small projects and they were pretty successful. They had a quick turnaround time compared to other help we used. We gave them our client projects slowly, and then we started giving them all of them. We eliminated the web development here in the US and now give them all the web and app development projects.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Some were large products including a client’s project for Honeywell. They did a lot of open-source technologies. They worked with WordPress custom templates. They did code igniter mobile apps, and some of the internet marketing projects. They also did SEO [search engine optimization] for one of our clients.

In the Honeywell project, they did tons of coding. It was a custom WordPress project and included mobile apps. It was on iOS and Android.

How did you come to work with Techno Infonet?

We had a designer that recommended them. We started very small. I believe that he found him over the internet.

Annually between $20,000 and $30,000 depending on the year.

What is the status of this engagement?

It’s been 10 years that we’re working together. It’s ongoing.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We had one client that was looking for development for Honeywell. It was very complex. They had in-house coders, designers, and developers, but for some reason, they were not going to be able to meet the timeframe that they promised their client. I had Techno get involved. They had a 10 day turnaround, whereas the client was expecting it in 20 days. In 10 days everything was done.

How did Techno Infonet perform from a project management standpoint?

Excellent. We use Basecamp to communicate. Everything gets logged there and we also have daily or weekly meetings either by phone or video. They’re extremely responsive. There’s a dedicated project manager.

What did you find most impressive about Techno Infonet?

The main reason that we’ve had a long working relationship and will continue to do so, is their scalability. If you have a big project, they can get a team together within minutes. If I have a special project on which I need an expert on some area, they can bring that person in-house with that talent and expand their staffing. If I need a team of 50 people they can get 50 people.

Are there any areas Techno Infonet could improve?

Nothing. Sometimes I wish they were face to face. They’re great people. We’ve built a personal relationship with them. I’m planning to visit them in India, hopefully next year. There’s nothing I can say that is negative.
