I’m a post-novice at Kapucijnen Vlaanderen, a nonprofit representing the Kapucijnen order, a Roman Catholic religious order from Belgium. Within that, I'm the project manager for the Fr@elli app.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tapston?

We needed something to help convey our spiritual center; we have rooms and locations and wanted to give users, visitors, and people associated with the site a worldwide opportunity to delve deeper into the ideas of the order. For this, we had a project to develop an app for our spirituality center in Belgium. 

Although I have a programming background and a basic understanding of data management and UI content management, I wouldn’t be able to develop the app myself, so we needed help building it.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tapston built an iOS and Android app for us. First, we helped them understand the center and the content we wanted. We had back and forth communication to find the right translation from a physical place to a digital space. 

The app’s core features include emulating the building we have, its rooms, and its themes; the app can simulate the atmosphere of those rooms. They also created the app in both Flemish and English, and the app recognizes the phone’s language automatically. Currently, we’re in the testing phase.

What is the team composition?

I act as the team leader and project manager, and I’ve worked with an account manager from Tapston. Additionally, I’ve worked with a designer in conjunction with a project manager. 

How did you come to work with Tapston?

I did some research and found them on Clutch. Additionally, I got three referrals, one of which was Tapston. From there, I had conversations with all three companies and told them what needed to be done. We got a quote from each company, which we analyzed as a team. 

Tapston had the best offer and the best services when it came to value for money. We engaged in further conversations with them to discuss the design and parameters of the app and then proceeded to get an official offer from them. We signed the contract, and it’s been smooth sailing from there.

How much have you invested in them?

The total contract cost is €27,000 (approximately $29,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in September 2021, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app has received positive feedback during the testing phase — people are very happy with it. For the launch, we’re doing a spoof of the Eurovision Song Festival, and we had Tapston show us the app on a video that has caused people to want to use it. For example, we have people from the US and Pakistan who will use the app for their formation processes, which we didn’t expect. The app is already a success, and we haven’t even launched it yet.

We’ve sent minor bugs through to Tapston, and they’ve fixed them within hours. One of the bugs was caused by my mistake because I forgot to tell them what we needed; the start screen was in Flemish, so users in the US couldn’t log in. When I told Tapston, they’d set up the app to automatically detect the phone’s language within two days, switching between Flemish and English.

How did Tapston perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been perfect at meeting deadlines and staying on budget — we’ve had no problems at all. They work so fast that I’m the one who has to keep up with them, which is great. 

At first, we used Slack for communication, and then we moved to Microsoft Teams. During the development stage, we had weekly meetings where we gave each other feedback and clarified requirements; it worked really well. We use Flutter to collaborate, where I can approve the programming every step of the way. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Tapston is a group of young and very motivated people working in difficult situations. They used to be based in Belarus, and they’re now leaving the country due to the Russian Invasion of Ukraine. Their enthusiasm and positive attitude through this situation have been impressive. Moreover, they have very good communication skills — they’re essentially a dream team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know what they could improve because they’re a very good company. If I had a team like them, it would be amazing.

I’m the VP of engineering at TranscribeMe, an AI transcription company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tapston?

We needed their team to develop our mobile application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tapston built our iOS-friendly mobile platform using React Native. It was developed to help our current customers find a different avenue for recording and transcribing their calls.

During the conceptualization phase, we provided our statement of work (SOW), which included pre-designed wireframes to give them an idea of what we needed to achieve. Tapston then referred to our marketing website and took inspiration from our existing graphics, font styles, and color schemes for the app's UI/UX. Upon completing this phase, their team presented the iterations for our team to choose from, and they moved forward with finalizing the design template. Finally, they proceeded with the implementation and development phases to complete our product.

We worked with a project manager, a senior mobile and React Native developer, and a UI/UX designer.

How did you come to work with Tapston?

We had a vetting process for companies that worked on a similar development project, which involved cross-platform technology. Tapston met all our requirements and had a credible profile as well, so we chose to work with their team.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Tapston conducted various app testings and applied modifications based on our feedback to ensure that our go-live was successful. We just released the product on the App Store last July, and we're looking forward to achieving our business goals. Our main success metric for Tapston's work was the app's user-friendliness and efficiency — everything was of high quality.

How did Tapston perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly communicated via Slack and phone calls. Tapston was a proactive team — they were on top of their project management game.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Everything they delivered was commendable. Tapston was the perfect partner for us.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tapston?

We wanted to develop an iOS and Android application for our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tapston developed our iOS and Android app. They made the designs for some of the screens, but for others, we used the designs that already existed on our original website. They also did some testing on the app before we published it.

People can install this app and find the products that they would find on our website. This can be done via a search engine or by looking through our catalog. Customers can also call the shop or place an order in the app.

What is the team composition?

There were three people from Tapston working on this project.

How did you come to work with Tapston?

We were looking in the Belarussian market for companies that made mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms at the same time. We received various offers and met with some of the companies. Tapston’s offer was better price-wise and time-wise than others.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from December 2020–March 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had around 100 downloads for the Android version and a little less than that for the iOS version since the recent launch.

How did Tapston perform from a project management standpoint?

Tapston’s project management was very good. We weren’t very familiar with mobile app development, and we only knew about web apps and e-commerce. There are a lot of specific parts in mobile app development, and Tapston’s help was very useful. We communicated via email and implemented a ticket system.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Tapston helped us a lot in figuring out what we needed to do and told us how we needed to prepare some materials for the app. They also helped us with marketing materials and with the process of publishing the apps in the stores.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There weren’t any negative aspects to our engagement.

I recommend you to work with them. We got the results that we wanted, and both the scope and price were absolutely suitable for us.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tapston?

We needed someone to develop our mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tapston developed a mobile app according to our specifications. It was to be used as one of the solutions for healthcare in specialized hospitals within Sweden. The application is for both iOS and Android. There were also some specific requirements when it came to the integrity of the data and privacy.

The app is for time management and scheduling of the medical personnel for off-hours such as weekends and nights. It had to be integrated with a step counter and phone logs. It’s an automatic tracking of some activities and allows adjustments of things.

What is the team composition?

I had a lot of contact with one of the founders of the company. He was doubling up as the project manager. I required that this project received special attention and wanted the very best project manager they possibly had. There were also full-stack, front-, and backend developers as well as visual graphic designers. There were about five people.

How did you come to work with Tapston?

I read their reviews on Clutch. They were serious about getting the scope right and that’s always a good sign.

How much have you invested with them?

I invested about €30,000 (approximately $35,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement was from April 2020–January 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The product is still in negotiations with big companies and hospitals. This is a B2B product. We’re running a couple of pilots but this isn’t a customer product. We have to convince the hospitals, and it’s quite a long way off. I, as the customer, am happy with the deliverables. Tapston delivered according to our specifications. We’ll be happy to outsource part of the development later on to them. I definitely see work with them in the future.

How did Tapston perform from a project management standpoint?

They were good at meeting deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by the work of the co-founder and project manager. I really liked that they engaged at a high level with this project. They really kept it close to their heart.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We wanted to launch this product in the Google Play Store. Unfortunately, due to some new requirements, we couldn’t. Tapston settled for €4,000 (approximately $5,000 USD) less on the total bill because they couldn’t deliver on that. O

verall, all projects have some things that change and there are third-level dependencies that impact the whole thing. It was impressive that Tapston agreed to a settlement of €4,000 (approximately $5,000 USD) back. There’s no way they would’ve known Google would change their policy.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You have to really know what you want.

I’m the owner of a flower retail chain with six shops.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tapston?

I needed help implementing a CRM to easily manage my customers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built the CRM from scratch. I had a list of my own requirements that I needed them to implement within the system. They provided a project manager that taught me how to work within a SCRUM framework.

As soon as we were ready, we started to work with a designer. After we had enough screens to start the development process, we started the first sprint. We kept going until the project was completed. 

Now, we use the CRM for accounting, document management, and order management. We also use the system to keep track of customer’s birthdays and other personal information.

We worked with a designer, a developer, a QA engineer, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Tapston?

I reached out to 6–7 different companies. Tapston was the only one to provide a commercial proposal within an hour. Their prices were good enough for me.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Tapston achieved my goal. They’re a polite team and I knew from the start that they wanted to work with me. They were kind throughout the entire process and taught me new development processes each day.

It was a transparent process. It felt like I was a product owner that was involved in decisions at every stage. I haven’t faced any issues working with them at all.

How did Tapston perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Jira to track tasks and Confluence for all of our requirements. We also used a Scrum board to manage our two-week sprints. I was able to see the status of each teammate's task just by looking at the board. We also had recorded calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their politeness stands out. They spoke politely and shared a positive energy throughout the project. They showed me that they’re good enough to work with again in the future.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to relax and ask questions if you’re not sure about a concept. It’s impossible to know everything.

Their team created a digital sales app using React Native and Firebase. Key features include push notifications, e-commerce abilities, and content sharing. Users can sell products and create bios for customers to contact them and buy their products.

What is the team composition?

I directly worked with three people but had one main point of contact. About 3–5 other people worked on the project, including a project manager, a developer, and a QA specialist.

How did you come to work with Tapston?

I conducted a deep benchmark because I wanted to create a long-term partnership. I looked at different companies’ websites, talked with different teams, and showed them the mockups for them to estimate the project’s cost. I chose Tapston based on their price and offerings.

We’re an online business providing delivery services for various shops. We deliver to clients’ houses or places of work. I’m a project manager in the company, in charge of the mobile apps for our delivery service.

I was looking for a company that could develop our apps from scratch. We had an existing delivery service, but it was a bit old-fashioned.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The main goal was to produce a delivery platform that brought together clients, stores, and couriers. Tapston was in charge of designing and developing the iOS client apps, for couriers, storage workers, and clients, respectively. The apps connect to a delivery hub.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 4–5 people from Tapston on a constant basis, and we connected with other members for different parts of the service. There were 10–12 people from their team involved overall. Their project manager was our main point of contact.

The cost of their work was $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Tapston between March–July 2020. Unfortunately, the project was stopped before it was finished, because our owner decided that we needed to focus on other work. We had prototypes and full designs, and we were ready to start the backend development.

I’m very sorry that the project didn’t go live, because Tapston designed and prepared it very well. We were also very pleased with their business analysis work. They’re professionals. I think that, if we were to launch the app, it would help our company a lot.

How did Tapston perform from a project management standpoint?

Their owner was involved at the negotiation stage, and they split the project into checkpoints. They were always ready if we had something to discuss, and they always answered our questions. They gave us a lot of helpful suggestions.

I had access to Confluence, where I could see all ongoing tasks, create new ones, and ask questions. We also communicated through Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We looked at different companies from Belarus at the start of the project. Tapston wasn’t promising miracles. They were very real, and they did everything they promised. They told us that the process would be hard and would require an effort from our side as well, unlike other people, who told us they could do it in three months.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

I may have an answer if we continue our work. Everything’s been good up to this stage.

My advice is to have faith in them. They’re professionals, and they know what to do to help you improve. Clients should try listening to their suggestions.

We put out a tender. I had proposals from around 15 companies. We chose them because we liked how they were business-wise.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2020. We just released the iOS version, and we’re waiting for the Android version. We will keep working together to make it even better.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality was very nice. We were always in touch with the designer and with everyone on the team. If there were any problems, they took care of them.

How did Tapston perform from a project management standpoint?

From the beginning, they set a deadline and I was expecting that it would be delayed. They were able to keep to the deadlines. The team worked late and even on weekends. If there was something urgent, they fixed it very quickly.

Everything has been smooth and we haven’t had any problems. If we need to change something, they take care of it. We are very impressed. From the beginning, they made very good progress and created very good results

We usually communicate through Slack. Once or twice a week, depending on the demands, we have Zoom meetings as well. They use a project management tool internally within their team, but we aren’t involved with that. We usually speak to the project manager.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re always in touch, which is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we haven’t had any problems. There was some miscommunication at the beginning because at one point I wasn’t involved as much as my partner, but if there was a miscommunication, they would solve the issue within one day. Everything was clear.

If you want a professional company, I would definitely recommend Tapston. This was my first IT project, and if I have other ideas, I will definitely use them again. They are a reliable partner for any company.
