**Design for women and LGBTQ+ communities**
Studio Lutalica is an award-winning non-profit design studio dedicated to empowering women and LGBTQ+ communities through creative and innovative solutions. Founded in October 2020 by Cecilia Righini, we are committed to fostering inclusivity and driving social change through design. Our team operates globally from our base in Edinburgh, crafting bespoke solutions for clients across four continents.

Our core services include branding, web design, editorial content creation, and strategic communication. We pride ourselves on our ability to tailor our services to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring that every project reflects our commitment to intersectional feminism, people over profit, and radical collaboration.

At Studio Lutalica, we believe in the power of lived experiences to inform and inspire our work. By centring the voices of women and LGBTQ+ individuals, we create authentic, resonant designs that challenge traditional industry norms. Our work is not just about aesthetics—it's about creating a sense of belonging and psychological safety for all.

Our team of experts includes project managers, UX/UI designers, DEI consultants, and more, all dedicated to delivering high-quality, impactful work. We are proud to have completed almost 200 projects for over 100 clients, achieving significant milestones such as £26,000 of pro-bono work in the last year alone.

We operate as a joyful resistance against a systemically privileged and inequitable creative industry. Our clients appreciate our pushback on outdated power structures, understanding that true community reflection requires including their voices.

Join us in our mission to redesign the future for under-served communities. Whether you're a brand, organisation, or individual committed to creating a more equitable world, Studio Lutalica is your partner in crafting creative solutions that make a difference.

## Portfolio & Awards

### LGBT Youth Scotland
LGBT Youth Scotland is a charitable organisation based in Scotland that aims to support, educate and advocate for LGBTQ+ young people aged 13 to 25. They provide a range of services and resources to empower young people and promote equality and inclusion for all. We had the honour of working with LGBT Youth Scotland on their strategy report and we couldn’t be happier with the final product.

### Not A Phase
Not A Phase is a registered charity which supports trans and gender-diverse adults. The charity is trans-led and committed to uplifting and improving the lives of trans people through campaigning, social projects and funding trans-led initiatives. In collaboration with Weirdo, we redesigned and developed the charity’s website on WordPress.

### Womankind Worldwide
Womankind Worldwide is an international women’s rights organisation with a 30-year history of supporting groups and organisations across the globe. They equip women’s rights organisations with the resources they need to challenge oppression and improve the lives of women and non-gender-conforming people. We produced the organisation’s latest Strategy Report and Impact Report, a small illustration bank, worked on the animation for their fundraising gala and other collateral design.

### Walking in Air
Walking in Air is a visionary project, led by Emmanuelle Waeckerlé (University of the Creative Arts) and Will Montgomery (Royal Holloway, University of London). Working across the disciplines of Poetry, Music and Fine Art, Walking in Air unites the act of walking with the intangible element of air, inviting critical reflection and creative exploration. Having worked with Emmanuelle Waeckerlé previously, we were thrilled to be asked to brand, design and develop the website for this project.

### HER
HER is an international dating app for LGBTQ+ women and queer folks. Their aim is to create a safe and inclusive space for their 8 million+ audience to connect with each other, whether they’re looking for dates or community. We gave HER’s website an update in early 2022, working on UX/UI and Web Development, and have been maintaining the website since.

### re|scripted
re|scripted is a collective of feminist education specialists, scholars and researchers, offering consultancy services to schools and organisations. They exist to ‘inspire, complicate, support and lead practices of intersectional theories of gender and difference.’ We had the pleasure of re-branding the feminist education consultancy and designing and developing their new website.

### Stonewall Housing
Stonewall Housing is a UK-based charity that provides housing advice and support to LGBTQ+ people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment. In collaboration with web development agency Lattimore + Friends, we worked on Stonewall Housing’s branding, website and a range of print and merchandise to give them a more modern and consistent visual identity.

### InterPride
InterPride is a global network which brings together Pride organisations from around the world. They have over 400 member organisations, from every continent and over 70 countries. Their mission is to unite and amplify LGBTQ+ celebration. We helped InterPride launch their new website, paying particular attention to UX/UI, with the aim of encouraging more organisations to become members.

### Days of Rage
ONE Archives Foundation is a nonprofit organization that documents, preserves and displays pieces of LGBTQIA+ history and culture. They wanted to create a minisite that would serve as an online exhibition for ‘Days of Rage,’ a display of posters used by gay and trans activists. More than a blog or magazine, Days of Rage needed to look and feel like an accessible exhibition, to be experienced via screen.

### LVNDR Health
LVNDR is a new platform giving LGBT+ people equal access to healthcare. The LVNDR app will connect queer folks to sexual health services, without alienating users or making assumptions about their needs. LVNDR’s goal is to be a single touchpoint for the health needs of the international LGBT+ community. We worked with LVNDR on a new name, a brand identity and website design and development.

### Weirdo
Weirdo is an advertising agency with a difference. They actively look for ways of including and appealing to diverse audiences, challenging themselves to create unique and powerful work. We have much in common with Weirdo, a fellow social-justice-orientated creative agency and we had a great time re-designing their website on Webflow.

### New Horizon Youth Centre
New Horizon Youth Centre supports young Londoners who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. Through their day centre, outreach and remote services, they help people aged 16-24 to overcome the barriers life has put in their way and solve their homelessness for good. New Horizon came to us with fresh brand guidelines: our job was to apply these to their 2021-2022 annual report and their 2022 impact report.

### I'm From Driftwood
I’m From Driftwood collect oral histories from people in the LGBTQIA+ community, and share them via their website, YouTube channel and podcast series. IFD’s mission is to tell LGBTQIA+ people around the world that ‘you exist, you matter, you belong.’ We re-designed and developed IDF’s website, and created a new visual identity for the organisation.

### LGBTBE
OutBritain, the UK’s First LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce, made the decision to create a way of officially certifying that a UK business is LGBTQ+ owned. OutBritain hopes that LGBTBE (LGBT+ Business Enterprise) certification will also help to connect queer-owned businesses and foster a spirit of collaboration and community in commerce.

### Jessica Lanyadoo
Jessica Lanyadoo is a Humanistic Astrologer, Psychic Medium, tarot reader, and Animal Communicator. Ghost of a Podcast, her astrology and advice show, is one of the most-loved programmes on the topic. She also lectures on astrology and mediumship, and has had her own private practice in San Francisco since 1994.
Lanyadoo creates a lot of brilliant content, and it was important that this was easily accessible on the new site. She wanted the layout to be engaging, but also show visitors what was on offer.
