We have a startup client, who needs to build a mobile app for food delivery from local restaurants. So we needed a consultation from someone who had previously launched this type of products, design, development, and testing. The project involved mobile app for users, for restaurants, and an admin panel. As for deliverables, we got a detailed product specifications, project development plan, the apps themselves. We also got support on the app launch - it was handled by SolveIt.

I am the founder of the most popular employment website in Moldova — Rabota.md. The site was launched in 2005. For more than 17 years, we have been helping people in finding jobs in Moldova.

We wanted to develop a fundamentally new job search mobile app targeted to gen Z users. The main difference was that the salary must be indicated in each vacancy. There should be no more "salary is not specified", "contractual", or "according to the results of the interview"! The applicant chooses which company to devote their time to without wasting it.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I asked my friends at FB “Who is the best at mobile app development now?” and received a list of 4-5 companies. I talked to each one online, looked through their portfolios, and read the reviews on Clutch. For me, the decisive factor was that SolveIt was strongly focused on mobile app development. I intentionally installed some of their applications, used them for a while, and then made the decision.

It all started with a series of calls in which I talked about the project in as much detail as possible. A SolveIt representative took notes of everything I said and after 2 weeks of calls began writing project specifications. When the specifications were ready for around 70%, the designer took up the work. We also entrusted the app design to SolveIt because we really liked the creatives they offered us.

After the design and specifications were approved, the developers started working, then testing and releasing the product. The application was made simultaneously for both Android and iOS using Flutter.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

For me, the most important measurable result was that SolveIt met the promised development deadlines. It was critical for us, I was worried that we would not be able to finish the project by the fall, but as it turned out, we did it even ahead of time. Moreover, in many aspects, SolveIt was pushing our employees to go ahead of the project estimated deadlines.

Everything is done on time. Furthermore, I was always notified in advance when each specialist would start working and when to expect the completion of the task. Representatives of SolveIt proposed us to create a group chat in a messenger for the prompt resolution of urgent issues. The project was delivered on the T&M basis.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

To be honest, it was the first time I saw such a detailed project specifications and sometimes I didn't even understand why everything should be described so thoroughly. But eventually, It paid off. Firstly, such a detailed specifications once again force you to rethink important things in the project in advance.

Secondly, everything was done clearly according to the specifications without misunderstandings. It was a big plus for us, especially after working with local developers when we had misunderstandings due to the absence of the detailed specifications.

Hard to say. Everything is fine at the moment.

When the Ukranian War started we had many members of our team migrating about their country in search of safety. We called Ilia to supplement our staff during this unstable period. We utilized his team to support our native app development projects.

We called over 10 development agencies during the first week of the war. Every agency from Poland was so supportive of our situation. Ilia was adaptive and supportive with ready to go developers. His website had a list of his mission statement and values - it matched our values. It was oddly amusing how similar we were with how our teams operated. Ilia was such a warm soul for our troubled times. We are so lucky to have found him .

We onboarded his mobile app developers to three of our projects. Each developer had to blend with our current team and work with team members that were only adding time when they were safe. They had to gain knowledge from these developers and be patient with the situation. After onboarding, each of the team members from Solveit also had to deal with the pressures of developing the code on a schedule even with our situation. The team adapted quickly and intelligently. Ilia and his team were very great communicators making the entire process seamless.

We could not interview so we had to believe in what Ilia told us. Everything he explained came true. The team was retentive, communicative and intelligent. They supported our projects (and still do) during a time in which we needed help. We talked to Ilia on a Saturday and his team started Monday morning.

Every developer that worked with NineTwoThree was competent and stuck with their timelines. We organize our projects in Monday.com and the developers were quick to learn our ways. From there, each member blended into the process and delivered accordingly. The best part was that each member was communicating their opinions, beliefs and findings intelligently and we listened.

Fantastic. Solveit goes through the same type of training that our team performs to be able to work remotely. Their hours were adjusted accordingly and their ability to commit on a schedule was great.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Ilia and Solve it are a pleasure to work with. There are certain people in this industry that understand how to support software for clients. Ilia is that person. He is honest, supportive and hires great people. When you create a good culture - people want to keep working with you. We will continue to work with Solveit as long as we can.

Honestly no, it is incredible that we took such a risk on Solveit - without interviewing and there is literally nothing they could have done better. We are very happy.

We required staff augmentation support for our app development company. More specifically, highly skilled full-stack developers to manage successfully the launch and further development of our new online platform.

Within 3-4 months after our app was launched, thanks to the team of SolveIt, our app became stable and error-free.

We had direct communication with the team, with daily meetings on Skype to make sure everything was going as planned. A significant advantage was the high involvement in technical solutions, even from the CEO.

They were flexible, pivoting when we needed to change the project scope. We felt like a team with common goals.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Partly, we felt that the motivation of the mobile devs was missing occasionally. Besides that, everything was handled professionally.

Solvelt is developing a custom app for my business. They created the app from scratch using modern technologies, with a team of about 8–10 people, who cover both the front- and backend development. 

At the moment, the app is still in the MVP stage, but we’re planning to launch it in October.

They handle all the development and so far, I’m quite satisfied. I understand that not everything has quite worked out yet, and there are still some features that have yet to be implemented.

How did SolveIt perform from a project management standpoint?

The project manager and business analyst help me unite all my requirements, and we haven’t had any problem with communication — we use Slack to talk to each other.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive part of their work is their communication style. They’re quite friendly, open, and they’re overall nice people.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can probably provide something more precise after the launch.

For anyone who wants to go with them, just work in-depth and trust what they see. They’re a young company, but they’re worth trying.

I'm the CEO and founder of a company called Seniordev. We provide IT nearshoring services for the Norwegian market.

What challenge were you trying to address with Solvelt?

We were struggling with a shortage of personnel for one of our projects, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I decided to set up a white label version of Seniordev powered by Solvelt in Minsk, which is what we’ve done so far. We’ve been testing out a set of two Javascript backend developers through them. They’re working on application development, in which we’ve been using regular tech sources, such as Angular on frontend and JavaScript on backend. If this goes well, we plan on going on a larger scale in the future.

What is the team composition?

For now, we’re working with two developers.

How did you come to work with Solvelt?

It was a little bit random. I met them through a common friend in Minsk, and built up a relationship with them before we started working together, while their normal business model is to find clients in the US and do projects with them.

We’ve spent  $11,000 a month.

The collaboration started in April 2021, and it’s ongoing.

They’ve made our backlog smaller, but the main point for us was to have a trustworthy partner we could trust who would provide us with good developers. Since we’re an IT company ourselves, we didn’t need extra services.

We had to plug them into our team, and we’ve mainly used Jira for project management and Slack for communication. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our business is all about relationships. We’re in what we call the red ocean. For me, it was important to have a partner I could trust that I managed to communicate well with, as well as a hard-working team. When I met Solvelt, I got the confidence I was looking for. That’s why I decided to roll with them.

If you ask me in half a year, I’ll probably answer that better, but right now it’s a simple service provided by two developers who plug into our existing team.

We’re a pre-seed tech startup with a team of two founders and three full-time members. I’m the CTO of the company, fully responsible for the technical aspects of the project. I’m also engaged in product creation, various business relations, and business management tasks.

What challenge were you trying to address with SolveIt?

We were looking for a technical partner who could help us with some areas which we weren’t experienced in. I’ve been a software developer for a long time, and I focus mainly on mobile development. We needed help with some of the product’s backend systems.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

SolveIt helped us with part of the backend development and with UI/UX design. Node.js was the main technology used, as per our request. We aimed to move development in-house in the future, and we had Node.js expertise on our team. We also used Typescript.

Our application is focused on creating video trainings and exercises for fighting insomnia. The team worked on a component for receipt validation from the Apple Store and Google Play, and they developed an admin panel for uploading and managing videos and viewing user analytics.

The backend development and UI/UX design were done in parallel, and we worked in two-week sprints. We gave them Balsamiq mockups. Some of our ideas weren’t right for real-world applications, so we made a lot of modifications from there. 

SolveIt gave us a lot of ideas on how to become more compliant with iOS and Android design standards. There are some differences in user behavior between the two operating systems. Mobile development was mainly done on our side, using React Native.

We had a project manager on their side. We had close communication with the UI/UX designer, as well.

How did you come to work with SolveIt?

A friend of mine had had a good experience with them. I trusted his opinion, so I had a talk with SolveIt. We started the communication with the sales manager on SolveIt’s side who gave us a commercial offer and some estimates, and we started the work from there

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost was around $17,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We had our first communication with SolveIt in September 2020, and we spent two weeks on requirements and estimates. Development started at the end of that month, and we got the end result in mid-November 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

SolveIt worked really fast, which was important for us because we wanted to get a fast response from customers. The user feedback on the design was great. We’ve done some user testing with actual people with insomnia, and, although the design was okay, we have to make some changes to the concept.

How did SolveIt perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Jira to track tasks and log time. The communication with their project manager was good, and everything else was fine. Their transparency was also great because I wanted to understand what was happening and what problems they may have been facing.

I got a detailed report after each phase. Their project manager updated us on the progress and gave us demos at the end of each sprint.

What did you find most impressive about them?

SolveIt was transparent and trustworthy, and they had great expertise.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Offering support on weekends would make them an excellent company, not just a good one. This isn’t really a criticism.

SolveIt can solve any problem they’re presented.

I’m the co-founder and product manager of BFreeTV, a TV streaming service.

What challenge were you trying to address with SolveIt?

We wanted to develop mobile and web apps so that customers could stream from our platform all over the world.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

SolveIT helped us with both the discovery and business analysis phases. We had an idea of what we wanted and provided examples of similar applications. From there, the team helped us to create our vision and a plan for our project.

They developed the mobile versions of the app, using Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android. For the web application, SolveIT used PHP. Afterward, the team handled testing. 

The team also delivered the design aspects. We provided a guidebook and logo, which they used to create custom designs for the applications.

What is the team composition?

In total, we worked with about six people. We had a project manager, who was our main point of contact, as well as two iOS developers, two Android developers, and one PHP developer.

How did you come to work with SolveIt?

One of my colleagues recommended SolveIT. I spoke to the project manager and he was very professional, so we decided to partner with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent €28,000 (approximately $30,000 USD) .

The project took place from May-November 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The application, which is available in both Apple and Google stores, is well-used by customers locally. It’s functional and reliable, and we’re satisfied with their work. 

SolveIT doesn’t provide us with ongoing support services, but they’re willing to help us from time to time when we need to fix things according to our processes, which we also appreciate.

How did SolveIt perform from a project management standpoint?

I was impressed by their project management. The whole process was very transparent, and the team was very responsive. They used Jira, which made keeping up with SolveIT’s progress very clear. To communicate, we used Slack, and the project manager was always in touch when we needed anything.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We really appreciated their work in the discovery phase. We had an idea from a business point of view, but they made some recommendations from a technology point of view that took future usage into account. Their recommendations were very helpful. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only disappointment was the project timeline. We expected it would be completed within four months but they delivered in 5 ½ months, though some of the delays were on our side. If we have any other projects, we’ll definitely go to SolveIT.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I definitely recommend using them. They did their research on the industry and business processes. SolveIT can really deliver software solutions that fit your expectations and even exceed them.
