We partnered with SoftSquare to build a platform that brings transparency, predictably, and scalability to the creator economy.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online for developers that fit our companies vision. It was important to us to find the right development team for such a project. After meeting with Danish from SoftSquare we knew we had found our partner. Danish and his team are honest, passionate, and qualified.

From our first meeting SoftSquare has become an integral part of our team and remains so to this day. From project concept, design, mockups, web development, app development and more SoftSquare has taken this project on as their own.

Beyond our fantastic project manager Danish, we have direct access to every one of SoftSquare team members working on our project. SoftSquare's integration with our team has proven vital and is greatly appreciated.

After BETA testing the platform, we have gained resounding market validation for our product.

SoftSquare's team is reliable and professional. We have daily strategy sessions with our project manager. We often meet with other members of the SoftSquare team throughout the week. Our teams are integrated on Slack for on-demand communication.

Their humanity. Danish and his team are incredibly talented developers and even better people.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I could not ask SoftSquare to have done anything differently. They have gone above and beyond any reasonable expectation of a business relationship. They continue to be an invaluable partner for our company.

I’m the owner of a website that connects dog owners to local businesses.

What challenge were you trying to address with SoftSquare?

Our website had a lot of issues in the front- and backend, and we also needed to completely redesign it to match our new branding. To do all of that, we hired SoftSquare.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SoftSquare redeveloped our website and fixed its issues. We gave them our new branding guidelines, and they took that into consideration while developing the website. In terms of features, SoftSquare added a blog page to the website. They also created a login portal where users could save things from the website. This portal also allowed businesses to create their own profiles. Moreover, the team also worked on the site’s UX design while automating its third-party workflows.

We worked with two people from SoftSquare; we had one main point of contact and a UX designer. 

How did you come to work with SoftSquare?

I found them on UpWork and hired them to be our development contractor. They had different types of expertise and did a great job guiding me through the changes on the website, telling me why something was broken and how to fix it. Simply put, they understood what I was asking better than anybody else. As a result, I decided to go with them.

We spent around $17,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from September 2020–August 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We saw a pretty big increase in our website traffic, which was one of the issues we initially had. Our previous website’s analytics function was broken, and they fixed it. On top of that, we saw a significant increase in the number of people signing up for our newsletter. We also received a ton of feedback from our customers, saying how much they loved the website, how easy it was to navigate through and use, and how clean and uncluttered it was. 

How did SoftSquare perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication was probably their biggest strength. Both of us had strong accents, and they were fantastic in understanding exactly what I was saying. They also set a standard in terms of when I could expect a response from them — they always stayed within that standard. Apart from that, they were great at keeping me on track by delivering earlier than our deadlines. 

We communicated with them primarily through emails, but we also had a lot of Zoom calls with them; they shared their screens with us to walk us through changes and updates. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They understood our vision, and they offered suggestions to make it better. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there weren’t any. They did a good job at everything; we had problems with other developers, but we didn’t have any issues with SoftSquare.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

At any point, if you don’t like something or one task isn’t done correctly, communicate it right away with SoftSquare. They’re great at getting feedback, and he can make changes quickly. Overall, have great communication with them.

We use Slack to communicate and Jira for project management — they do a great job keeping us updated.

Their transparency is what stands out the most. They perform at a higher level than most of the firms in the US. We’re now able to trust them and invest in them because they created a great partnership between us —they feel like an extension of our team, and that’s important for us.

I’m the CEO of a moving company that operates in Melbourne, Australia. We deliver quality and quantity with furniture removal and commercial delivery from Melbourne to Sydney and Sydney to Melbourne.

Our company was running an online booking system, but our software wasn’t that attractive, so we needed to develop a way to have the booking, ordering, and truck scheduling features on a new, better-looking software.

Dezining redesigned our website frontend and then developed new software for the backend to integrate with the website to make things easier for our customers and for our team. They created forms through which we can see bookings, receive orders and send them to the trucks, make cost calculations, and file space summaries.

I work with one member of their team, but he has a few guys behind the scenes working on the software at any given time.

One of my business clients had worked with them before and highly recommended their services to me. We had a mediocre experience with a designer before, and so we were very excited to hear about Dezining, given their portfolio and reputation.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We are getting a lot of customers through this platform because of its aesthetics and how much easier it is to manage. The pamphlets and booking templates they made for us were very impressive, which has been very satisfying as well. Everything works perfectly so far.

How did Dezining perform from a project management standpoint?

They do a good job with project management. Beyond just developing the software, they bring a lot of unique ideas to the table and are very good at meeting deadlines and establishing a project timeline. We generally communicate via WhatsApp, and on the occasions when we need to look at the software together, we call on Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I think their ideas were the best part of the collaboration for me. They have a lot of unique and attractive ideas for how to present information, and that was the biggest thing we found lacking in other companies we’ve worked with.

To be honest, I’m very happy with everything they provided, so I don’t have any suggestions for things to improve.

I would recommend that you communicate as much as possible in order to get the most out of the relationship.

What challenge were you trying to address with Dezining?

Eighteen months ago, I appointed someone else to work on the site, but I found that their understanding of my requirements wasn’t matching my expectations. It wasn’t easy to explain what I needed to them, either over email on through calls. I hired Dezining to take over the project for Uholu International.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We engaged Dezining to help us with the website and the iOS and Android app. The entire website was replicated with the apps. Customers have the ability to sign up and browse the website or apps for the products they want to buy. There’s also a checkout and payment system.

Dezining created everything from scratch, in terms of development. They showed me how it works and asked for my approval at every step. We use AWS for hosting, and there was a lot of PHP coding done on the website.

I’ve only worked with one person.

One of the old developers told me that he couldn’t complete it as per my requirements and that it needed PHP experts, suggesting Dezining.

They had a clear understanding of what I was looking for from the very beginning, which demonstrates their experience. I also appreciated their ability to explain what they could do and how we could make it work. After an initial chat, they put together designs, reworking them based on my feedback.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in May 2019 and the work is ongoing. I plan to enhance the site further, according to market feedback, and I’m planning to hire them for full support because I really trust them.

The app isn’t fully in use yet. It has some functionalities there, but we’re still working on it. Everything’s gone smoothly for me so far—if I come across any issues, or if I see something I need to change, they’ll sort it immediately if I send a message.

How did Dezining perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve worked with other providers over the last five years, on different projects and would always struggle with communication and disagreements. I’ve had no such issues with Dezining.

We’re using WhatsApp for communication, and I make direct phone calls with them. We also communicate a lot through email, because some of the information comes from third parties.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The communication is the best thing. There’s a time difference between our locations, but he always responds on time. As a non-developer, I’m reliant on them, but I have full trust in their process, and when they tell me if I need to spend more money or something similar.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If they could reduce their fees, that would be great, but there’s nothing else.

The challenges are multiple: establish a monthly recurring payment schedule incorporating commission percentages on sales; several levels of users; ability to be both a vendor and a customer, password safe storage.

I selected Muhammad based on his experience and his interest for the project. He understood the project quickly and had a lot of relevant questions. He got back to me with a clear plan and seemed motivated to tackle this complex project.

The site is operational and ready to be launched. I don't have any data to share yet as I'm finalizing the content and working on a marketing strategy.

The communication was easy, Muhammad is very responsive. He would communicate deadlines for each step and we'd have a Zoom meeting after each step was completed. I would then give my feedback and list of items to improve, he would work on it and we'd have another call to check that all was in order for him to proceed with the next step.

The quick reaction time as well as the ability to apprehend such a complex project.

At first it was challenging for me to explain my project clearly as it was a first for me. But Muhammad asked for real-life examples of similar services in other countries, summarized all our conversations to make sure we were on the same page, and come up with a list of actionables at the end of each call.
