Prepare Website for Future Growth and Improved User Journey: To offer a more diverse range of learning opportunities to users, EITUM is developing new products and services that will be commercialized through the website. Therefore, there is a need to develop the future product pages or services as outlined below: 

• Product: eBbook - These will be simple PDFs with an option to download after purchasing it. 
• Product: Closed Courses / Masterclasses - These will be paid courses that will be hosted on the Totara platform. 

The introduction of these new products will necessitate design improvements to the website's purchase flow to accommodate the new products and potentially large volumes. Additionally, updates will be required for the "My Learning" page or any other relevant pages that still need to be identified. 
 
Support Marketing Improvement: To continue the growth of participants on the UMC website, the following tasks will be undertaken: 

• Conduct a Comprehensive Audit: This will help understand the impact of email retention campaigns.

We've been working with Smultron Web Development for about four years. We've worked on 20 different projects for different countries since they all have different needs, but our most recent engagement has been about standardizing the interface for one of our customers. Our internal team focuses on the design, and Smultron Web Development does the development. 

We've based our projects on Salesforce, and Smultron Web Development's team helps us implement it. We provide them with the requirements, and they review what has been done by the previous agency. The team has cleaned the code to be as efficient as possible to replicate it in other markets. Smultron Web Development focuses on React, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.

Our clients communicate with retailers through the platform, starting with tasks, information, learning materials, and contact information. Users can also find information about our end client's products.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've expanded our collaboration with Smultron Web Development as we've grown to other continents. We've seen that the NPS of the markets has become better. Some markets have noticed a faster loading speed after Smultron Web Development's work.

The end customer's system is vast, and the loading speed is low. Sometimes, the page loads for 15–20 seconds, and if it's even 10 seconds, it's better. This has been an enormous benefit for the client.

Additionally, Smultron Web Development is consistently eager to learn new technologies and help us. We're very close to the technical directors and can call them anytime to see what they can do for us.

How did Smultron Web Development perform from a project management standpoint?

Smultron Web Development stays mostly within budget and schedule. Sometimes, 100% adherence is impossible, but they've stayed within limits around 90%. We mostly communicate via email and Microsoft Teams, and our customers use Jira, which Smultron Web Development also uses. The team isn't in the Microsoft environment, so they use Google Meet if they plan a call.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Smultron Web Development's availability, flexibility, and willingness to help are impressive. In case they don't have a specific competency, they're willing to gain knowledge. This is the biggest benefit from Smultron Web Development.

This service was a subcontract in the international research project "PRO AKIS - Prospects For Farmers' Support: Advisory Services In European AKIS", funded under the 7th Framework Program from the European Commission.

• creation of institution registration system
• importing a database of institutions from a csv file
• provision of a server and maintenance care for a period of 24 months
• adapting the site to mobile devices (smartphones, tablets)

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Scheduled to run for 30 months, the PRO AKIS initiative, funded by the FP7 budget, brought together a consortium of partners from seven European organizations. In the middle of the project, work began on a database of information and advisory services in 27 EU countries, which was performed by Smultron.

The provision of advisory services is one of the most important ways to improve problem solving, information exchange and innovation-generating processes. Such services can be provided by a variety of entities, including formal and informal education institutions and NGOs, but also by representatives of government or research institutions. All these institutions from the 27 EU countries have been cataloged and entered into a database, making their search available in one place.

This facilitated access to information not only for stakeholders representing ministries, advisory organizations and agricultural unions, who were able to familiarize themselves with the agricultural knowledge and information systems in place in different countries, but also for individual advisory service providers.

Deliverables included:

• institutions from the 27 EU countries have been cataloged and entered into a database
• developed a web tool and an interactive database on AKIS (Agricultural Knowledge and Information Systems)
• delivery of the server and maintenance from 2014 to 2021

Our existing client area was outdated and slow, slow to update with all relevant new information, and did not contain all the functionalities needed to support an expanding business model. We desperately needed a new client area which would satisfy the needs of all our users, internal and external.

We communicated through Basecamp, Zoom and email. Communication was instant, effective, and the team worked diligently, delivering ahead of schedule for majority of the sprints.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Very dedicated, once the team works with you, one never feels as if their time or attention is divided. Proactive, suggesting alternative solutions which will fulfil the need but better than what was originally imagined.
