Our project goals were to gain a specific number of paying customers within a set budget during the US tax season. We aimed to significantly increase acquisition by testing various channels to identify the most effective one and optimize our marketing approach.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The project successfully increased paid acquisition by 10x compared to the low season and 3x compared to the high season of the previous year, resulting in a substantial rise in new customer volume week after week. Various channels were tested, with Google Ads emerging as the top performer and receiving further investment.
While attracting many more new visitors, conversion rates in the funnel remained stable, even improving by 19% at the bottom of the funnel ( first app visit to paid subscription). However, rapid scaling led to a higher-than-expected cost per click (CPC), resulting in a 19% increase in cost per customer compared to initial projections.
New customer growth from paid channels continued to rise dynamically week over week during the entire project.

We began the project with a pre-planning phase, where we agreed on goals, processes, timelines, budgets, and a high-level plan. Skalski Growth then modeled marketing funnel metrics and developed a scorecard for weekly performance monitoring. We brainstormed potential channels to achieve our goals and chose to proceed with Paid Search Ads, Social and Display Ads (Meta, LinkedIn), and B2B Catalogs.
We ruled out SEO due to time constraints and cold outreach for scalability concerns. Skalski Growth also supported our Product Hunt activities and partnerships. They gathered detailed information about our product, the problems it solves, our target audience, and competitors. Using this data, they crafted messaging and visuals. Next, they constructed a marketing funnel, creating 15+ landing pages for various campaigns and target groups.
They implemented advanced analytics through Google Analytics 4 for better visibility and insights. After launching the campaigns, they worked in weekly sprints to enhance performance, testing numerous hypotheses regarding channels, tactics, target groups, and creatives. How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Skalski Growth was recommended to us by one of our consultants, who had an opportunity to work with them in the past. After the initial call, hearing the plan of possible cooperation based on a data-driven approach to inbound marketing & strong focus on analysis - planning, we decided to go with the Skalski family.

Our cooperation started with an audit. At the first meeting, Skalski Growth presented us with project steps and did a thorough interview to better understand our company & our current marketing strategy. During the audit, we met in weekly intervals, 4 times in total. In each meeting, they delivered an in-depth review of each of our marketing channels with actionable insights. This allowed us to identify which channels have potential and what changes we could implement to make better use of them.
Next, we moved onto market research. Skalski Growth performed comprehensive competition research to identify best practices for our industry and see how we position against other companies in this space in terms of digital marketing. They also investigated for us different geographies in terms of traffic potential, target audience size, and market saturation.
Using insights from these researches combined with the audit, they were able to develop a marketing strategy focused on channels and actions most likely to deliver results. Right now we are working together on implementing the strategy.

The project was led by Wojciech Skalski, CEO of Skalski Growth. Anna Sztabkowska (Growth Partner) and Michał Wilgosz (Senior Growth Manager) were responsible for performing the audit and delivering parts of the strategy.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
After 6 weeks of cooperation, we received a full audit of our marketing channels and inbound marketing strategy for this year. Each part of the project was thoroughly documented. We got access to all documents presented at meetings, including source data used to prepare them.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow was very effective. We had a meeting each week to summarise progress and discuss next steps. Between the meetings, we were using Slack to communicate.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Not only did they do extensive and in-depth research, but they also drew concrete conclusions and recommendations to implement in day2day activities. All based on data, market insights and the impressive expertise of the team.

So far everything goes smoothly with no interruption.

We hired Skalski Growth to help us promote our app through paid ads. Our main goal was to lower Cost Per Installation and achieve positive ROI from paid ads.

How did you select Skalski Growth and what were the deciding factors?
We already knew Skalski Growth as we used to work together with Wojtek Skalski (CEO) on previous projects.

The goal of this project was to build a PPC acquisition campaign for the US market that would deliver positive ROI. The team prepared an action plan, recommendations regarding channels and their setup, as well as multiple versions of creatives including video, images and text.
The very first results after launching the campaigns weren't satisfactory - the Cost Per Installation was higher than the target. We tried with different campaign types, but this didn't work either. Together with the SkalskI Growth team we decided to take a step back and look into the app user data from different countries and their conversion rate.
It turned out that the USA is not the only market worth exploring. We identified new markets with conversion potential and low CPC for related keywords and we started testing them. This approach worked, and soon we started acquiring new users at good CPI. In the meantime I have improved conversion in the product. Thanks to that, the also CPI in the US became acceptable and started bringing positive ROI.

We worked directly with Anna Sztabkowska as our Marketing Manager. Anna was leading the project and Wojtek Skalski provided advisory expert support. They also have a team of marketing support that helped with copywriting and setup.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
After improving in-app conversion rate we were able to achieve positive ROI for the US market. We also found new markets with promising installation costs (it’s worth noting that exploring other geographies was out of the initial project scope, but the team took this extra effort to deliver results).
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They updated us on a weekly basis on what's going on in the project. In case of questions they provided answers quickly. All the materials have been collected in a shared drive so that they can be used in the future.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
focus on results, smooth communication via Slack and calls, full transparency regarding costs and results thanks to real-time dashboards. The team's willingness to go the extra mile to deliver results has been impressive throughout the workflow.

CEO of Skalski Growth responded to our post on Linkedin, when we were looking for a Head of Growth.

The project started quickly. We have been noticing a drop in trial conversion rate for the past few months, so the first thing they did was to rebuild our trial onboarding campaign and we noticed 3-4 fold growth in trial conversion rate.
After the crisis was averted, we moved to more strategic tasks - they analyzed our website traffic, did market research and proposed areas for improvement. hey also collected and organized all marketing initiatives and ideas we would like to tackle. We also had a series of workshops that really helped us improve our messaging and create value propositions for different use cases.
In terms of notable projects during our cooperation so far, they helped us modernize our brand (new logo and website), map out and optimize user journey in multiple touch-points (website, trial, onboarding, renewals), create content for the website, carry out email campaigns, and gather more reviews online.
Right now Skalski Growth is responsible, among others, for our email marketing, messaging, SEO, further website development, and establishing partnerships.

Since we started our cooperation a lot has changed. We have rebranded with a brand new logo and website, made a switch towards the Enterprise market, which increased our revenue significantly, as well as improved user journey in key touch points. We increased average transaction x2 and grew 80% YoY for the past 2 years.

The workflow is very effective. I really like their agile approach with weekly plans and update meetings. They keep track of new ideas and projects in progress and make sure that everything happens in a timely manner. A lot of our marketing efforts (and not only) can be fully outsourced to Skalski team.

That we were very quickly able to treat them as part of Dataedo. That they are agile and result oriented. That they provide a holistic view on growth. That they too, feel like part of Dataedo and genuinely help us grow as it was their business.
