What challenge were you trying to address with Seraphic Infosolutions?

I needed a customer relations management app to manage and keep track of my gigs, performances, and contracts with clients.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Seraphic was hired to create a mobile app that would allow me to connect with my customers through their email addresses. Once I put their addresses in the app, it will prompt a notification asking them to input their contact details. When that’s done, I’ll receive a notification that will allow me to easily generate a contract and proposal, which will be sent to my client. 

The client will then have the opportunity to execute or go through the contract by clicking the link sent over to the app. Right now, the app is only available for iOS.

What is the team composition?

I only had one point of contact but I know there were others who were working in the background.

How did you come to work with Seraphic Infosolutions?

I originally posted a job on a freelance website, and they were one of the vendors who sent over a proposal. They didn’t win this particular job, but I did award them another job from another company that I owned.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve invested approximately $1,800.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September–November 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My other clients were obviously getting prices and proposals from other vendors, but mine is the most seamless and easiest to use. Rather than wait for a vendor to provide an email from the desktop with a proposal page, I can do it from a mobile device anywhere in the world.

We’ve shortened the waiting time for customers to receive information, and in this business, the early bird with the best price and best service gets the worm. The practice of responding to customers, which usually takes minutes to even hours, we’ve shortened to mere seconds.

We’re very satisfied with the quality of the app and how it turned out.

How did Seraphic Infosolutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We had no issues communicating with the team. We used different modes of communication through various chat services, as well as Skype sessions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing was they had a high level of communication.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t think they have any areas they need to improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice would be to just be open to communicating at a high level on a regular basis.

SOLUTION

What is the status of this engagement?

I was not happy with the result on the third and fourth installments, and I kept dragging because I didn’t want to release the payment until we had what we were expecting. They repeatedly said that they absolutely needed the money then and that I could be sure that they would correct everything, but they didn’t. 

I finally told them that I wouldn’t pay them until the app was totally bug-free and they released it. Again, they told me I could rest assured that they would do everything, but they didn’t. The app was supposed to be finished by the end of March at the latest, and it was not published before June. That is how much of a delay we suffered.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When the app was published, we had to ask for the source code, and it took them ages to give it to us. I asked for the final design file, and they have not been able to provide us with that. They only provided the files at the very beginning, and when I asked why, they said they finished the app and put it directly into the app. This was really bad. As a client, you deserve to have the final design because now, if we want to work with someone else, they would have to redesign everything.

On top of that, the Android app was published with two major bugs despite everything that we checked, and this was a common thing that happened with them. When we showed them all of the bugs we found and asked them to rectify them, some of them were rectified, but some were not, and new ones appeared. In the end, we thought we had a final build that was working, so we gave them the green light to publish the app.

About a month later, we found out that when our customers were using the app, they couldn’t install the album anymore, and that they had to reinstall it all the time. I mentioned this to Seraphic. We started to do more thorough testing again with our technical assistant, and we found another major bug. That bug prevented the app from being used offline, which is one of the main purposes of the app. The music should be played in continuous mode. Many people use it at night, and most people use it without being online. Seraphic rectified the bug, but they didn't publish it. I have asked them about 10 times to publish it, and they haven’t.

Now that I’ve decided to cut ties with them, I made a formal complaint with Upwork and requested that Upwork ask them to actually publish the latest build. I told Upwork that I didn’t feel confident that they would do a good job again if I asked them to do it. We couldn’t afford for them to mess up because we are in the process of making new improvements to the app.

At the end of the day, the iOS app was published with a major bug that we corrected before, but it reappeared. Throughout the contract, any time we complained about them not doing any QA, that we had recurring bugs, or that only parts of the bugs were corrected, they ignored us. They never acknowledged it or apologized; it didn’t matter to them.

They did not fulfill their contractual agreement to actually debug the app within the three months following the publication of the final build. In fact, they ignored all of my requests to do so, and they seem to be incapable of finding out why the Android app is not storing the albums properly while the iOS version does. I don’t see why the Android app isn’t able to do this.

Seraphic has totally ignored the last chance we gave them to resolve the major issues that we still have with our app, which are creating problems for our users.

How did Seraphic Infosolutions perform from a project management standpoint?

In the beginning, I told them that I wanted to choose a company that would stay with us because we had a previous bad experience with another Indian company. I have nothing against Indian companies; it is just one of those things that happened. When I told them that I wanted to work with them on a long-term basis and didn’t want to have to change developers again, they told me not to worry because they are very good. They said they were the best and told us to look at their reviews.

I will not take reviews into account anymore because we were forced to leave a good review in order to make sure they would finish the work properly. People shouldn’t be asked to do reviews until the app has been published for 3–6 months. However, in the end, they finally agreed to remove it. They ended up being supportive when they realized how bad the situation was for us and tried to put pressure on Seraphic to resolve the issues but to no avail.

When the app was finished and we were about to publish it, they put a lot of pressure on us to give good reviews on Upwork, where we found them, as well as on Clutch. I was not happy about doing this because we still had three months to check the app and make sure that it worked, so it was very awkward. You can’t really just give proper feedback on someone when you are carrying on working with them. They knew very well where we stood. I explained to them how I felt about their performance, which was really lacking in professionalism throughout, but they insisted on having a very good review.

We did not have any QA throughout the whole process, and this led to three months of delays to provide us with the final build. We had to do all of the testing for them. We spent hours actually testing the app for them, which ended up costing us a lot in terms of time and resources.

They did not properly evaluate the amount of work needed to recreate our app. In the beginning, we just wanted to correct some bugs that the previous company were unable to fix. Once the previous company got paid, they neglected us, and Seraphic has done the same thing to us. Also, due to the incompetence of the developers, who are not doing proper QA, I think they ultimately lost money. It took them too long to finalize the product, which is why they neglected us in the end.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The reason I wanted to change this review is because when I provided my feedback initially, I tried to be as honest as I could. I did say the best bits about working with them. I provided honest feedback, but I didn’t tell the whole truth, and now I am. It is true when I said they were up to the standard, especially at the beginning; they were very reactive. As we went along, they made mistakes. I think they probably realized that they didn’t have a developer up to the standard that was required. They didn’t have the knowledge.

If they had said to me that they realized the developer was not up to standard and that they would change the developer, I wouldn’t have had any problem whatsoever. They never acknowledged that, nor did they acknowledge that we were doing all of the QA work for them. That is not fair to a client. I am very flexible and easy as a client, but there are some limits to how you can treat your customers.

Any advice for potential customers?

Rakesh Kumar and his company Seraphic are untrustworthy and incompetent. This is truly what I can say from the experience we have had with them. I believe Seraphic should not be featured on any platform. I want this to be known to future clients so that they can avoid having an experience similar to ours.

They stopped responding to us, at which point I had enough and wanted to make a formal complaint to Upwork and change my review on Clutch. I will make sure that everyone I know never hires them. They finally said that they would put the new build online. I had asked for them to do so 10 times, but because I put pressure on them, they suddenly wanted to publish it.

I’m the founder and manager of Loriana Music, a music production firm. We make music for well-being. Our music has a beneficial effect on living beings, but mainly human beings.

What challenge were you trying to address with Seraphic Infosolutions?

Our music is offered on CDs, USBs, and, as of a year ago, an app. We hope to have the app eventually replace CDs and USBs.

The app took a year to develop. It had success with our customers, but we discovered it had lots of bugs that we didn’t foresee at the beginning. We needed a different company to help us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We explained that we wanted the bugs corrected. Seraphic Infosolutions studied what we had and the existing programming. They estimated that the work required to fix the bugs would be too much and that they could create a much better app from scratch for a lower price. We decided to go for that.

Seraphic Infosolutions built our app from scratch. Users can choose different styles of music. The app complies with certain uses, and it’s very reactive. For example, if a user puts an album in repeat mode and then gets a phone call or wants to watch a video on the same device, we needed to make sure the app would resume playing music as soon as the call or video finishes. We went through all the implementations step-by-step.

They did all of the design of our new app, and they programmed the different functions. The last and longest step before the app was completed was testing. We went into very thorough testing of different user scenarios. We made adjustments as we went along. For instance, we needed to go through the long list of alerts that users get when they use the app in different ways. Also, we made the app in three languages, so we needed to ensure the app was responsive in the right language. This necessitated many tests as well. We managed to do that within a reasonable amount of time.

We practically had everything done by the end of February, but we wanted to ensure the app had as few bugs as possible before deployment. We did testing until the end of May. Now, we’ve agreed on a three-month period of deployment. I believe that after three months, we’ll have the app totally reliable.

What is the team composition?

We always had the same point of contact, Rakesh (Co-Founder). That was one of my requests at the beginning. The previous company kept changing the manager, and it was complicated for us. Rakesh assigned specific developers for Android and iOS. We also had a person who dealt with all the text and implementation of different aspects of the app.

My company has spent less than $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2020, and the work is ongoing.

We’re very pleased with the end result of our new app. It’s easier to navigate and more intuitive. The app also has functionalities that are better tailored toward our core audience of mature adults who aren’t necessarily tech-savvy. Seraphic Infosolutions made sure the app was simple, straightforward, and solid. They were very patient with us, because the app is quite intricate.

Our clients are very pleased. We’ve already received feedback from our clients, and they love the app. We believe we have a very good product.

How did Seraphic Infosolutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Rakesh was very reactive and responsive. The project had clearly defined steps, and it was easy to follow up. We knew who was on the team, and we spoke to them on occasion to make sure they understood our needs. They were very easy to communicate with. They delivered within the deadlines. When we had a bug, they made corrections. We got along very well. We’re very pleased with the collaboration.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We got very good value for money. Seraphic Infosolutions is very caring. They really want your product to be the right one. I didn’t have that with the first company.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could pay more attention to some of the feedback we gave. When we received an update, they’d generally incorporated all of the feedback. However, we sometimes had to remind them of points they’d missed. Apart from that, it was very good.

We’re building an app. I had designed some placeholder screens myself, and as we were nearing completion of the coding, we needed more professional looking designs. I was recommended to Rakesh (Co-Founder) to design the app screens.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I explained to Rakesh what we needed done, which was to essentially design all of the screens, the color scheme for the application, various graphics, and where to use different buttons versus sliders. He basically handled the design of the whole application.

Right now, the app is for iOS alone. It’s programmed in Swift.

Our only point of communication was Rakesh.

I was referred to Rakesh by a Swift developer who’s helping me with some of the app’s coding and programming. I communicated with him and a few others. I created a document for everybody that explained the app, who it was geared toward, and what it was for, and Rakesh was able to take a quick look at what I had done so far. He submitted a couple of sample screens that seemed to imply that he understood who the target audience was. Everything looked really good on the sample screens.

The project started mid–late-July, and it ended in early-August 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The primary metrics were the number of screens that we set up to design, all of which Rakesh completed. Another metric was the timeframe, and Rakesh met that, both in terms of the actual numbers of hours he put in as well as the 2–3 weeks he said it would take his team to do the design.

The rest of the metrics were anecdotal: how the design looked, felt, and operated. My partners and I took a look at their work, as did 20–30 people who we’ve leaned on for feedback. Everybody thought the app looked great. It was an infinite improvement over the placeholder designs I’d done. Even since the project ended, we’ve had to go back to Rakesh to ask for another component to be created, and he’s been extremely responsive and thorough. 

How did Seraphic Infosolutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Rakesh’s communication was great. He posed questions to me. It was never he or his team holding things up; if anything, I was a bit of a roadblock. They met deadlines, and I think they accelerated their work toward the end to get the project done on time. From a project management perspective, he handled everything as well as we expected. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by the quality of their work, including the color schemes they were able to come up with and the designs. I don’t have any design hand whatsoever, and I roughly explained what I wanted. I was shocked that the majority of their designs came out in ways that I had envisioned but couldn’t fully communicate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything offhand.

Any advice for potential customers?

Put in the time and effort to communicate with them so that what they give back to you is as close to what you want as possible. I worked up a 4–5-page document that outlined the app and went through each section of the screens, explained what they did, who they were geared toward, and what the purpose and point of them were. I don’t know if he would’ve designed the same screens with or without this doc, but it seems like it gave him a better feel of how to design based on who’s using it and what they’re using it for.

My main points of contact are the partners of Seraphic. I am not sure how many people were engaged on each project.

I can’t remember how we found them exactly, but we contacted them via Upwork and started with a very small project. I found that their designs were really great, and the mockups they sent were really attractive. Following the initial engagement, we started working with them on other projects. I am hoping we will have many more projects with them.

So far, we have spent around $15,000.

They have a very good sense of design. They think a lot about color combinations and spacing. Everything is really great. You don’t have to worry about the output because they put a lot of thought into their work before delivering any final screens.

So far, it has been great. We haven’t had any difficulties with deadlines. They are good at delivering the project within the set timelines. We mostly communicate via Skype or phone calls.

I think communication is great. Whenever I message or call them, they respond quickly. They are always very professional and friendly at the same time. Whenever there is an issue, they take care of it immediately.

They know their work well. I don’t have any suggestions for now.

If you are looking for a great partner and a good designer in terms of mobile apps and websites, you should definitely work with them because they have a good sense of design and color combinations. You will definitely get good work from them.

What challenge were you trying to address with Seraphic Infosolutions?

I needed to build a unique platform. I wanted to integrate VR and AR capabilities into a website for our users to engage to view different items.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I provided Seraphic with Photoshop and Illustrator displays along with PDFs to guide their work. Using those materials, their team built my website on the Shopify platform.

They integrated their services into the Shopify platform for my website. They used software such as Maya and Blender to complete the integration. Their team designed the UX/UI too.

They continue to update the website. Their team changes the designs and adds new items to the platform.

They have a large team, but I speak with one point of contact.

Originally, I looked everywhere for an individual who could create 3D websites. I found that a majority of vendors could either create 3D products or develop websites. Seraphic was the only team I found that could do both.

We started our partnership in 2019, and it will continue for however long I need this platform.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’re experienced designers. All around, I’d give my experience working with them a 9.5/10. I’m happy with the website's look and speed. While the pages transition well, we could improve the transition speed. The 3D functions slow it down.

How did Seraphic Infosolutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate using phone calls and a freelancer platform. Their communication’s amazing. They're efficient and deliver products exactly on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have amazing experience in various fields including AR and VR. Their team’s also able to execute front- and backend development. I reviewed over 20–50 companies and freelancers. Seraphic was the only agency that offered a good price as well as AR, VR, and backend development experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m hands-on with certain projects. They could’ve provided more screenshots and details of the development process. As a result, we wouldn't have to backtrack if they completed a milestone and we forgot to tell them something. However, it wasn’t an issue due to the nature of this particular project.

If you want to be hands-on, request your preferences for updates. Their communication’s perfect, which means you can tell them what you need.

The Color Project is a public art research, fabrication, and design team. We do everything from mixed media digital artwork to kinetic stem learning, hands-on sculptural projects. I’m the artistic director and one of the owners.

What challenge were you trying to address with Seraphic Infosolutions?

We wanted to work with our IT software designer to create an app. We had come up with a technology called The Chromilluminator, which uses the human skin as a canvas to project light. Then, when the two different colors are projected, they form a third highlight down the middle of the face. We’ve taken this technology on tour at festivals and museums. We wanted to make it something that someone could do by themselves at home.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We produced a color filter app that allows people to explore The Chromilluminator. Our IT person provided the different color combinations, how the colors should blend, and how he wanted the template to look. He sent over a lot of information, and then Seraphic Infosolutions handled the coding. They worked on both the front- and backends.

What is the team composition?

I believe we worked with two people from their team. I didn’t have any direct contact with them; our IT person was the liaison for our company and their company. They both understand technologies, so I’m sure it was very easy between the both of them to communicate. I was the project manager.

When we decided we wanted to launch the project, I believe our IT person, who has worked in the same field for a long time, saw Seraphic Infosolutions had reasonably priced, intelligent people. He probably heard about them on social media or web advertising. Other people in his field had worked with whatever business Seraphic Infosolutions advertises with.

I believe we spent close to $2,000.

Our work together began in April 2020, and it just wrapped up in June, about a week-and-a-half ago.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My company is very particular, and we’re very pleased. The colors that we use are very simple – they’re printing and TV colors – but it’s often hard to get them correct. We’ve had problems in the past where the colors just didn’t come up right with printers or people using our logo. They nailed the colors, which was one of the most important things.

The app is really easy to use, clean, and self-explanatory. We’re happy all the way around. 

How did Seraphic Infosolutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They responded really well to feedback. If we asked them to change something, we saw results with the changes that we wanted to make. Seraphic Infosolutions communicated via email with our IT person, and they kept right on task. We have no complaints with the timeline whatsoever; in fact, the day that they said the project was going to be done, it was done. If there was any delay in launching, it was on our end, not theirs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The way that they handled change requests distinguishes them. I work with graphic designers and IT and software folks all the time, and sometimes, I have to repeatedly ask them to make a change. Seraphic Infosolutions responded really well to the tweaks that needed to be made, without giving us grief or suggesting something different. They really listened to what we wanted. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there was anything that needed to be different. They were really easy to work with and did exactly what we wanted them to do. We will definitely use them again in the future if we have another project that is fitting.

Any advice for potential customers?

I’d say it’s always helpful in designing software to have someone who speaks coding language or is familiar with computers serve as the liaison. My advice to anyone working with people doing coding or technical stuff is to keep it simple and be concise.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Fannix Technologies Limited, an IT company. We do a lot of web app development and cloud services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Seraphic Infosolutions?

We had a client request to develop a mobile game app. We had an issue and needed a company who could build it from scratch to deployment.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Seraphic Infosolutions developed our client’s mobile game app from scratch. The client only provided a rough sketch, and Seraphic told us what was possible and how the game would work. They designed and developed the game using Unity. The 3D graphics were done in Node.js and React. The web panel used a PHP script file hosted on AWS. They also did a lot of JavaScript coding and some SSL jobs. They built a new algorithm for the game. Within the game, users monetize their work. They’re able to do contests and play different games. Their work can be requested in the form of payouts. 

They deployed the game and now host it on their server. They’ve been very useful in creating digital animations and offering a lot of support services. I also gave them another job that’s still in progress.

What is the team composition?

There are about five groups, and I’ve been in touch with more than 19 people. At the beginning of development, there were up to eight people with a team lead. The marketing team, which created the videos and strategy, had five people. There’s also a design team of three people. They have an AWS team which includes about four backend people.

How did you come to work with Seraphic Infosolutions?

I was looking for a company that could handle everything from A–Z. I posted on Upwork, and we reviewed about seven proposals. We looked at past experience, job success on Upwork, and price. I was looking for a company that actually invested in their work. One thing that struck me and caused me to contact Seraphic Infosolutions was that, apart from their understanding of the project, they spoke like they’d handled such a project before.

We started working together in January 2020, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s one thing to know how to do the job, and it’s another thing to have a mature response. Their designs are first-class.

The app has had to have a lot of testing for bugs, and they’ve given us good support. They understood what our problems were. For example, for the past few weeks, we’ve been trying to update the server and understand why we’re having errors. They’ve been making suggestions.

How did Seraphic Infosolutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They use a project management tool to create a template for setting dates, timelines, projections, etc. We had to make adjustments because the client had new ideas.

What did you find most impressive about them?

If there are any changes, they inform us. They don’t try to take advantage of anything. I see them as part of my own team. They are the most mature team I’ve worked with. They’re solid and strong, and they do their best.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were times I sent them animation graphics to do, and I wanted them to produce some kind of concept. This is an area they could improve. They’re very good with animation, but their concept of animation could be improved. Their programming and design skills are the best.
